Denzel Perryman on Jim Harbaugh: ‘He reminds me of Will Ferrell’

Jim Harbaugh’s unique personality has drawn a comparison to that of an award-winning actor.

Quirky. Weird. Unorthodox.

Those are just a few of the many words you can use to describe Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh’s unique personality has drawn a comparison to that of an award-winning actor.

“I hope I don’t get in trouble for this, but he reminds me of Will Ferrell,” linebacker Denzel Perryman said, per ESPN’s Kris Rhim. “I don’t know if it’s the way that he speaks, his analogies and everything, but they really remind me of Will Ferrell.”

Perryman mentioned that Ferrell’s acting in Step Brothers reminds him of Harbaugh’s personality. He also compares Harbaugh to Ferrell’s performance in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.

“I don’t know if it’s his tone of voice or the way he talks in general, but the first thing that comes to mind is Will Ferrell,” Perryman said. “I mean, I do take him seriously. I take everything he says seriously, though. But when he does joke around, I start cracking up in my seat.”

Harbaugh is Harbaugh and no one is going to change that. While it’s clear that the Chargers players are bought into who he is as a person, they are hopeful that he can bring the same success that he’s had at previous coaching stops.

The Savannah Bananas perfectly recreated the Sweet Child O’ Mine scene from Step Brothers

The Savannah Bananas and Step Brothers: a match made in heaven.

Leave it to the Savannah Bananas to find a way to make Step Brothers feel fresh in 2023.

While the 2008 Will Ferrell/John C. Reilly comedy remains a very enjoyable watch, the film’s jokes have been thoroughly referenced in the 15 years since that film’s release.

Well, the Savannah Bananas found a way to bring the movie back in the best-possible way by recreating the film’s hysterical “Sweet Child O’ Mine” car sing-a-long scene.

This is something genuinely only the Savannah Bananas could pull off to this level of success, as the exhibition baseball team has specialized in playful antics like this on the field.

Feel free to sing along if you feel so inclined.

The Georgia-based baseball team deserves a ton of credit for even attempting something as silly as this, and we have a feeling that everyone involved with Step Brothers would approve of this delightful recreation.

Hey, if an MLB team wants to try to reach the entertainment levels of the Savannah Bananas, we’d welcome it.

Al Michaels’ description of a Lions’ Step Brothers sweater made it clear he’s probably never seen the movie

This movie reference went right over Al Michaels’ head.

It’s not Citizen Kane in terms of quality by any means, but Step Brothers is probably one of the more memorable films of the 21st century. Who could possibly forget the movie where Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly play two man-children in the silliest “turf war” about refusing to grow up?

Well, if you’re Al Michaels — who was already having a wild Thursday night — you’ve probably never seen the 2008 movie, somehow. At least, that’s what Michaels’ bizarre description of a Detroit Lions sweater said.

The clothing — clearly a meme — featured Lions head coach Dan Campbell and starting quarterback Jared Goff posing like Ferrell and C. Reilly for the Step Brothers’ movie poster. And the reference went right over Michaels’ head on the Thursday Night Football broadcast:

Look, I’m not going to pretend that it’s easy to keep up with culture as a working adult. But it’s still kind of wild to me that Michaels didn’t know this Step Brothers reference. It was pretty popular! I feel like a lot of people saw it — over $128 million at the box office, and for a comedy!

I guess the time spent announcing football comes first.

Al Michaels whiffs on Step Brothers meme and Twitter won’t let it go

Thursday Night Football play-by-play Al Michaels missed a reference to the movie Step Brothers during the Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers game.

Everyone knows about the movie “Step Brothers” starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly.

Most everybody.

Count Al Michaels among the number who, not only have never seen the film, but have no concept of the memes that were borne out of the 2008 classic.

A fan at Lambeau Field was caught on Thursday Night Football’s cameras wearing a mashup of Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell and quarterback Jared Goff’s heads replacing Ferrell and Reilly’s in the movie’s cover.

Michaels had no reference.

“Everything is a parody, everything is a joke these days,” Michaels said. “There’s Campbell and Goff — high school graduation pictures or something similar.”

Twitter did not let Michaels off the mat. Here are some of the best reactions.

New Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett makes funny comment about Matt LaFleur

“I’m going to make a run at being the sexiest coach in the NFL against him,” Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett said of Packers coach Matt LaFleur.

If you don’t know much about new Denver Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett, here’s something to get you started: he’s funny.

After the Broncos fired Vic Fangio, they put in requests to interview 10 coaches, including two with the Green Bay Packers — Hackett, the offensive coordinator, and Luke Getsy, Green Bay’s quarterbacks coach.

When Hackett found out that Getsy was also going to interview for the job, he (jokingly) suggested that they should go together and recreate a “Step Brothers” scene.

Denver’s social media team gave fans a preview of what that kind of interview could look like on their Twitter page.

The Broncos later shared another “Step Brothers” GIF on their Twitter page when news broke that Hackett was finalizing a contract with the team.

Hackett’s sense of humor was on display again during his introductory press conference last week when he brought up Packers coach Matt LaFleur.

“I’m telling you, the Green Bay Packers — what a great organization,” Hackett said. “An amazing place to be, [and] amazing people. The people I got to work with — Matt LaFleur — I will thank him forever. I’m going to make a run at being the sexiest coach in the NFL against him.”

Hackett’s remark was met with laughs, but his appreciation for LaFleur and the Green Bay organization was sincere.

“The things that he taught me, the things that he allowed me to do, the person he let me be, and the staff that we got to hire — I realized how important a great staff is because a great staff and the group that you’re going to be with is the foundation …. I’m so grateful for the Packers, so grateful for Matt LaFleur, [and] so grateful for all the men that I worked with. They’re just the best people ever.”

Hackett’s first order of business with the Broncos will be finalizing a coaching staff. We are tracking Denver’s coach decisions on this page.
