The Savannah Bananas perfectly recreated the final dance scene from Dirty Dancing

This lift is incredible.

The Savannah Bananas are a fun a raucous trip to the baseball diamond every time they have a game. As an exhibition team, the Bananas weave entertainment, songs and crowd interaction with the baseball action.

On Wednesday night, the Bananas busted out a classic song and dance routine. After one at-bat, the entire team got involved in a rousing rendition of “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life” by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes, made especially famous by the final dance scene of 1987’s Dirty Dancing.

It’s truly impressive, especially considering how well-executed the lift is at the climax of the song. Well done, Bananas.

Beyonce’s ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ has people (including the Savannah Bananas!) doing line dances all over TikTok

“It’s a real life boogie and a real life hoedown.”

Beyonce has gone country, and music fans can’t get enough. Her new single, Texas Hold ‘Em, has people making up line dances, and the results are so good. The song is taking over TikTok, and now the Savannah Bananas are involved because you know they can’t resist a chance to have fun.

Remember when Beyonce shocked the world with new music during the Super Bowl and then casually acted like it wasn’t a big deal? Well, news flash: IT’S A BIG DEAL. Her new music and forthcoming album, Renaissance Act II, is seemingly an ode to her Texas roots and to country music. Her two singles from the project, Texas Hold ‘Em and 16 Carriages, feature Beyonce in a new light, and fans are loving it.

Texas Hold ‘Em, in particular, is inspiring creative line dances across the country and somehow even found its way to sports. So many amazingly choreographed routines are currently trending on TikTok.

John Cena joined the Savannah Bananas for a brief plate appearance to promote new movie

John Cena. Savannah Bananas. What more do you need?

The Savannah Bananas are always good for some surprises, but introducing a wrestling legend-turned-Hollywood star isn’t usually one of them.

To kick off the 2024 season in Tampa, actor John Cena surprised the crowd, wearing a Savannah Bananas jersey and ready to take an at-bat.

The jersey had the name “Stanicky” on it, which leads you to believe Cena was in attendance to promote his new comedy Ricky Stanicky that’s coming out next month on Amazon Prime Video.

While this doesn’t mean Cena is about to travel the country with the Savannah Bananas, it is a really fun moment you just didn’t expect to see.

Cena has turned into one of the most beloved personalities in all of film and television, and we’re so glad we got to see him join the Savannah Bananas for at least one inning.

If he ever decides to retire from his show business career, it looks like he’ll have a nice fallback option in Savannah.

Viral Savannah Bananas baseball team to play at LSU’s Alex Box Stadium in March

The wackiest team in baseball is coming to Baton Rouge.

The Savannah Bananas are coming to Baton Rouge.

The independent exhibition team will be playing a three-night showcase at LSU’s Alex Box Stadium from March 14-16, 2024, as part of an agreement between the team and Visit Baton Rouge.

The Bananas got their start as a summer collegiate league ballclub, but they have since taken over the internet thanks to their unique take on the game, which features a penchant for showmanship and a wacky set of rules including no bunting, a two-hour time limit, stealing first base and counting foul balls caught by fans as an out.

Savannah sold out parks in 33 cities as part of its 2023 Banana Ball World Tour. The team has played in Triple-A, Double-A, Single-A and Major League spring training ballparks, but this will be its first in a college stadium.

According to an LSU release, team rosters will include former MLB stars and celebrities.

The Savannah Bananas perfectly recreated the Sweet Child O’ Mine scene from Step Brothers

The Savannah Bananas and Step Brothers: a match made in heaven.

Leave it to the Savannah Bananas to find a way to make Step Brothers feel fresh in 2023.

While the 2008 Will Ferrell/John C. Reilly comedy remains a very enjoyable watch, the film’s jokes have been thoroughly referenced in the 15 years since that film’s release.

Well, the Savannah Bananas found a way to bring the movie back in the best-possible way by recreating the film’s hysterical “Sweet Child O’ Mine” car sing-a-long scene.

This is something genuinely only the Savannah Bananas could pull off to this level of success, as the exhibition baseball team has specialized in playful antics like this on the field.

Feel free to sing along if you feel so inclined.

The Georgia-based baseball team deserves a ton of credit for even attempting something as silly as this, and we have a feeling that everyone involved with Step Brothers would approve of this delightful recreation.

Hey, if an MLB team wants to try to reach the entertainment levels of the Savannah Bananas, we’d welcome it.

A Savannah Bananas infielder made a bonkers behind-the-back bounce throw out look so smooth

This looked so easy from the Savannah Bananas.

The Savannah Bananas have become one of the most fun baseball stories to follow this summer. Nearly every week this season, we’ve seen a wacky highlight out of the theatrical exhibition baseball team, from fan participation ending a game to backflip catches.

And now, the Bananas are at it once again, this time thanks to infielder Ryan Cox’s stunning ingenuity on the field.

After a Party Animals hit right at Cox at shortstop, the infielder gloved the ball and proceeded to go behind his back, bouncing the ball off the field before snagging it with his bare hand. Cox then remarkably was able to make the throw to first to get the out, completing one of the smoothest baseball plays you’ll ever see.

The Bananas never fail to impress, that’s for sure!

A Savannah Bananas outfielder catching a ball while in mid-backflip is b-a-n-a-n-a-s

THIS IS WILD!

The Savannah Bananas continues to be the most entertaining thing in sports — fans catching balls are outs! They did the Chiefs spinning huddle thing! — and this latest moment is just incredible.

DR Meadows had a pop fly heading his way, and as he caught it in center field, he did a standing backflip, landing on his knees with ease and with the ball in his glove before popping up.

I mean, what do you say about this? How do you do this?

People are flipping out (sorry not sorry) over this catch and they should be. And below the video below is some other Meadows magic that I can’t stop watching:

How a fan catching a foul ball literally won a game for the Savannah Bananas

A fan won a game for the Savannah Bananas. No, really. This actually happened.

Always leave it to the Savannah Bananas to find the most outrageous ways to usurp the traditional rules of baseball.

The exhibition baseball team is known for its wild antics, and Tuesday night’s Bananas game against the Savannah Party Animals (part of the team’s Banana Ball World Tour) marked yet another wild turn of events that can only happen with this extremely fun team.

On a hit by Party Animals batter Dustin Barber, the ball went out to the stands for a foul and was caught by a fan. Normally, that’d just be a cool souvenir for a Bananas fan.

However, per “Banana Ball Rule No. 8,” a fan catching a foul ball counts as an out. This out was the third in the top of the ninth, which helped the Bananas get the win.

Yes, a fan literally won the game for the Bananas.

As you can imagine, this lucky fan got swarmed by the Bananas roster for a diamond celebration in what has to amount to the coolest way for a baseball game to end, even one that was just basically for fun.

Imagine if something like this happened in the MLB? It never would, but that’s just the fun of the Savannah Bananas. You just never know what’s going to happen for any given game.

The Savannah Bananas delightfully paid homage to the Chiefs’ spinning huddle formation

The Savannah Bananas did a great rendition of the Kansas City Chiefs spinning huddle.

The viral-ready exhibition baseball Savannah Bananas always have some zany antics in store, and the team recently played homage to the Super Bowl champs.

As they prepared for an upcoming batter, the entire Bananas outfield gathered in a “ring around the rosie” formation and went in circles before dispersing across the baseball diamond.

If the move looks familiar, it’s the same formation quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs famously used in January.

While that play got called for a penalty on the Chiefs, the Bananas can kind of just get away with whatever they want since silly moments like this are part of the team’s appeal.

The Bananas can always be counted on for shenanigans like this, and they did a heck of a job getting the spinning huddle going before dispersing throughout the outfield.

All sports teams are going to want to copy the Chiefs in at least some way, shape or form, and Savannah found their lesson in the most hilarious way.

49-year-old Johnny Damon whiffed so bad in his Savannah Bananas debut, but it was still cool to see

Not even close.

Going to a Savannah Bananas baseball game, the chances of seeing something you thought you’d never see are incredibly high. But usually the stunts involve player sketches, dancing umpires or just the wild rule changes that make up “banana ball.”

On Wednesday, the traveling baseball circus brought the Dayton Beach, Florida, crowd a surprise in the form of retired all-star and two-time World Series champion Johnny Damon.

Damon, 49, hasn’t played in the majors since 2012, but the 18-year vet looked fit on his way to the plate in Bananas yellow. So fit you might’ve convinced yourself he was about to do damage.

Then, he whiffed so bad on the first pitch.

To be fair to Damon, it’s probably been awhile since he’s stepped in a box. He was a good sport just to show up. And to his credit, he had fun with it, doing a little dance — along with the umpire — before the first pitch.

He eventually did make soft contact on the next pitch, grounding out to the (left-handed?) third baseman. So at least he didn’t strike out. But it’s probably safe to say a return to baseball isn’t likely in his future.

That must’ve been a real treat for the fans in attendance.
