Max Christie signs deal with Los Angeles Lakers

Max Christie has signed his first NBA contract

Max Christie was drafted 35th overall in the second round of this year’s NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. Christie has had an up and down showing in summer league so far, but has shown that he has the foundation to build upon.

The next step in his NBA dream is complete, as Christie has reportedly agreed to his first contract with the Lakers. It appears that Christie has signed a two-year, 2.74 million dollar deal that is fully guaranteed.

The NBA Summer League in Las Vegas has begun, where rookies will get their first chance to show off their skills. Although undrafted, Marcus Bingham Jr. latched on with the Dallas Mavericks and is a part of the team’s summer league roster.

In the team, and Bingham’s summer league debut against the Chicago Bulls, Bingham made a spectacular pass. The highlight-worthy pass was featured on the NBA’s Twitter page.

Jaren Jackson Jr. underwent surgery to fix a stress fracture in his foot

Jaren Jackson Jr. has had a rough start to his offseason. The Memphis Grizzlies star has undergone surgery to repair a stress fracture in his right foot and it will sideline him for 4 to 6 months.

Jackson is coming off of his fourth season in the league, and one his best, averaging 16.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. His team, the Memphis Grizzlies, were the No. 2 seed in the NBA Playoffs and will look to make another playoff run in the 2022-23 season. Jackson is expected to make a full recovery.

Jason Richardson was a star during his time at Michigan State. A high flier, and a high-energy player that thrived under Tom Izzo’s system, eventually leading to a national championship. Following his time in East Lansing, Richardson played 14 seasons in the NBA, showing off his high-flying ability there.

Now, Richardson is retired from playing in the NBA, but that doesn’t mean he still isn’t playing hoops. Richardson is now playing in the Big 3, 3-on-3 basketball league that features many former pro players.

Max Christie caught a stray from Skip Bayless on draft night

Skip Bayless is known for his outrageous takes, and making headlines with some of the crazy things he says about professional sports. On draft night, a Michigan State player was caught in the crossfire.

After the Los Angeles Lakers selected Max Christie with the No. 35 overall pick of the NBA Draft, Bayless took to Twitter to call out a flaw in Christie’s game and what it means for the Lakers.

Bayless called out Christie’s ability to shoot the 3-ball saying that his 32% 3-point percentage fits in well with the poor shooting the Lakers possessed last season.

Christie will look to prove Bayless wrong in his promising NBA career.

Los Angeles Lakers select Michigan State basketball G Max Christie

Max Christie is a Los Angeles Laker!

The Los Angeles Lakers have selected Michigan State shooting guard Max Christie with the No. 35 overall pick in the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft.

Unfortunately, Christie fell out of the first round, but ended up getting drafted in a great landing spot with the Lakers where he will play alongside Lebron James and Anthony Davis.

The Los Angeles Lakers originally did not have a pick in this draft, but moved into the early second round on draft day to select Christie.

In his one season at Michigan State, Christie averaged 9.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game in 35 games.

Tom Izzo releases statement on Max Christie staying in NBA Draft

Tom Izzo has released a statement on Max Christie’s decision to keep his name in the NBA Draft

Max Christie has made the decision to enter the NBA Draft and will be hiring an agent, forgoing his remaining collegiate eligibility. His absence will leave a big hole on the wing for Michigan State and is something Tom Izzo will need to address. First, Izzo addressed the decision by Christie to stay in the NBA Draft via Michigan State Basketball’s Twitter page.

Christie is projected to be a late first-round or an early second-round pick in the NBA Draft and will be participating in the pre-draft combine next week.

Michigan State will officially be going into the 2022-23 basketball season without their former 5-star wing Max Christie. After one season in East Lansing, Christie will officially be keeping his name in the NBA Draft and will hire an agent, forgoing his remaining collegiate eligibility.

In his one season at Michigan State, Christie started in 35 games while averaging 9.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. He is projected to be a late first-round or early second-round selection in the NBA Draft.

Jaren Jackson Jr. and Xavier Tillman both had great games in the game two victory. Jackson scored 16 points and grabbed 7 rebounds while Tillman gave Memphis a huge jolt off of the bench, scoring 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting and grabbing 7 rebounds.

Draymond Green was given the ultimate praise from Steve Kerr after the Warriors game one win

The Golden State Warriors took down the Denver Nuggets in game one of the Western Conference playoffs first round, 123-107. Draymond Green had a great performance in game one, scoring 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting, securing 6 rebounds and dishing out 9 assists. Green also led the game in the blocks category, gaining 3 blocks while playing great defense, holding Aaron Gordon to 8 points on 3-of-10 shooting.

After the game, in his post-game press conference, Steve Kerr gave Green the ultimate praise calling him a future hall-of-famer.
