Broncos inactives: 5 players won’t play on ‘Sunday Night Football’

Melvin Gordon out, Javonte Williams in. Broncos have announced their list of inactive players for SNF.

The Denver Broncos have announced their list of five inactive players for their “Sunday Night Football” showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Broncos running back Melvin Gordon (shoulder/hip), cornerback Essang Bassey, defensive lineman Mike Purcell, safety Jamar Johnson and quarterback Brett Rypien are inactive for Sunday’s game, the team announced.

With Gordon sidelined, rookie Javonte Williams will make his first NFL start on Sunday with Mike Boone serving as the No. 2 running back. Denver also called up Damarea Crockett from the practice squad to fill the RB3 role in KC.

There’s good news on the offensive line for the Broncos as both left tackle Garett Bolles (ankle) and right tackle Bobby Massie (ankle) are active today after missing the last three and two games, respectively.

The winner of tonight’s game will move into first place in the division. The AFC West showdown will be nationally televised on NBC and fans can watch the live stream fuboTV (free 7-day trial).

NFL odds: Broncos are 9.5-point underdogs vs. Chiefs in Week 13

Broncos will be considered 9.5-point underdogs on SNF against the Chiefs this week, according to @Tipico Sportsbook.

The Denver Broncos (6-5) are considered 9.5-point road underdogs against the Kansas City Chiefs (7-4) this week, according to Tipico Sportsbook. The division rivals will be competing for first place in the AFC West when they face off on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 13.

The over/under for total points scored this week has been set at 46.5, per Tipico Sportsbook. Denver’s games have averaged 38.5 total points per contest this year while Kansas City’s matchups have averaged 48.2 total points per game this season.

Browns Vs Ravens SNF game highlights seen here

Browns. Ravens. Sunday Night Football. Cleveland’s highlights here:

The Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens had a key matchup in Week 12 that was circled when the schedule came out. The two teams have two games in three weeks with the Browns having their bye week in between.

On Sunday Night Football, Cleveland has a chance to make a statement against Baltimore. The Browns haven’t lived up to their expectations so far this season struggling against good teams outside of the Cincinnati Bengals.

With the Bengals destroying the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier in Week 12, a Cleveland victory would put them just a half-game behind the Bengals and Ravens for the top of the division and hold the tiebreaker over both teams, before their second matchups.

Keeping track of all the highlights from Sunday Night Football for Browns fans right here:

Broncos vs. Chiefs flexed to ‘Sunday Night Football’ in Week 13

The Broncos’ game against the Chiefs in Week 13 has been flexed to ‘Sunday Night Football’ on NBC.

The Denver Broncos will get a second prime-time game this season, after all.

Denver’s road game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 13 has been flexed to NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” window, the NFL announced Tuesday. The game was originally scheduled to be played on CBS in the early afternoon window.

To make room for the Chiefs and Broncos on “SNF,” the NFL flexed the Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers game to the mid-afternoon window. Seattle (3-7) vs. San Francisco (5-5) looked like an intriguing matchup in the offseason, but the Seahawks’ decline made the contest a poor choice for prime time.

Denver (5-5) hasn’t been overly impressive this year, but Kansas City (7-4) is back in control of the AFC West and the league will take every opportunity possible to put quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the national spotlight.

If the Broncos upset the Los Angeles Chargers (6-4) in Week 12, their matchup with the Chiefs could have big implications in the division.

Denver was originally scheduled to play in just one nationally televised game this season. The Broncos lost to the Cleveland Browns 17-14 on “Thursday Night Football” in Week 7. Denver will hope for better results in Week 13.

Seahawks S Jamal Adams’ ‘best in the nation’ intro was a tribute to deceased player

Adams caught a ton of heat on social medial about this statement, but no one put it together until later.

Seahawks safety Jamal Adams got a lot of heat Sunday night when in his player introduction he said “I’m the best in the nation.” He overemphasized a few of the words and spoke in a unique cadence.

People were then comparing his statistics and performance based on this statement and social media erupted. However, some are speculating this was actually a tribute to the late Trabis Ward, a former Tennessee State University RB who was fatally shot outside of a liquor store in 2020.

Adams has made no statement verifying it, but he did repost a story about this on his Instagram and liked a post with a video of Ward.
