Did Shedeur Sanders really buy a Maybach for Colorado O-lineman Jordan Seaton?

WOW.

With NIL around these days, it can be a lot easier to purchase a very, VERY nice car like a Maybach if you’re a college athlete.

Which brings us to Shedeur Sanders, who could be a top QB pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Colorado quarterback and son of coach and NFL legend Deion Sanders was seen in a video posted by his brother Deion Sanders Jr. on Instagram in which Shedeur says, “He protects the backside so he had to get the ‘bach” about freshman offensive tackle Jordan Seaton.

So a lot of folks think that means Shedeur gifted Seaton a Maybach, and I have a lot of questions, like: did the rest of the offensive line get cars?

Anyway, here’s the video, and we’ll see if Sanders or Seaton confirm it’s a gift:

Raiders land top QB, 2nd RB in latest PFF 3-round mock draft

The latest PFF mock draft goes three rounds with the Raiders snagging top QB Shedeur Sanders as well as the second RB in Omarion Hampton.

With the Raiders continuing their free fall this season, they appear like a sure bet for one of the top picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. With still six games left in the 2024 NFL season, PFF has already put out a three-round NFL mock draft with the Raiders (finally) addressing their need at QB as well as adding talent at a couple other positions as well.

2. LAS VEGAS RAIDERS: QB SHEDEUR SANDERS, COLORADO

Though quarterback Aidan Oā€™Connell managed to get the Raiders in range for an upset in Kansas City this week, all indications point toward the team selecting a quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. Sanders stands out as the most pro-ready quarterback in this class, earning high passing grades in each of the last two seasons and excelling under pressure with one of the highest passing grades in those situations ā€” though he does tend to take a lot of sacks. While his arm strength might not be elite, Sanders is a polished passer the Raiders can put their faith in.

34. LAS VEGAS RAIDERS: RB OMARION HAMPTON, NORTH CAROLINA

Hampton is the second running back off the board in this mock draft behind only Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty selected at 13 overall by the Cowboys.

66. LAS VEGAS RAIDERS: S/CB SEBASTIAN CASTRO, IOWA

PFF seems to have forgotten the Raiders own the Jets’ third round pick. They have the Jets picking at 70 overall in the third round, which means the Raiders would have two picks atop that round and at least four picks in the first three rounds.

Shedeur Sanders remaining team-focused ahead of bowl season

Shedeur Sanders opened up on wanting to play in Colorado’s bowl game

After a blowout win over the Oklahoma State Cowboys on senior day, Colorado football quarterback Shedeur Sanders played to his teammates when questioned about his desire to play in the Buffs’ bowl game.

“It’s a team thing, that’s what boils down to it,” Sanders said Friday. “(If) me and Travis (Hunter) and a couple of other players aren’t out there, the Buffs are not going to look the same initially going into the game. We understand the pieces we are to the team… We gotta lead by example.”

Sanders led the Buffaloes to a 9-3 regular season record, with defensive and offensive line improvements aiding Colorado’s success. The Buffs secured a bowl for the first time in a 12-game regular season since 2016 and will await other results on Saturday to see if a Big 12 championship game is in the cards.

Head coach Deion Sanders also confirmed that his starting quarterback and son would play in CU’s guaranteed bowl game, along with Hunter.

Shedeur Sanders finished his senior campaign throwing for 3,926 yards with 39 total touchdowns and eight interceptions. The signal-caller shined in Friday’s win over the Cowboys, throwing for 438 yards and five touchdowns.

No ‘tap out’ for Colorado stars in upcoming bowl game

The Buffaloes should be at full strength for their bowl game.

It has become trendy for college football players who are headed to the NFL draft to opt out of their team’s bowl games, citing it as nothing but a meaningless game. But this is not the attitude of the Colorado Buffaloes and their head coach Deion Sanders.

When Sanders addressed the media he made it very clear that all of his top players will be playing in the Buffaloes bowl game.

“That’s what we signed up to do and we’re gonna finish,” Sanders said. “We’re not gonna tap out. Because that throws off the structure of next season.”

When Sanders talks about his players, he is obviously talking about quarterback Shedeur Sanders and cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter. Colorado has several prospects who have a shot at being drafted but Hunter and Sanders are the only guys in our Top 100 prospects and both protect to go in the Top 10 of the first round of the 2025 NFL draft.

Shedeur Sanders becomes Colorado’s first Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award winner

Shedeur Sanders earned a prestigious individual award

Colorado football senior Shedeur Sanders is adding to his trophy cabinet. On Friday, the NFL-bound quarterback was named the 2024 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award recipient.

Sanders is the first Buffalo to win the Golden Arm Award, given annually to the nation’s top upperclassmen quarterback. The award not only factors in performance on the field but also “character, citizenship, integrity and those who honor the game,” according to the award’s website.

This marks the second straight year a CU player has earned a major college football award, following Travis Hunter’s 2023 Paul Hornung Award.

Sanders is enjoying an impressive final season in Boulder. He recently became the first CU quarterback to throw for 30 passing touchdowns in a season and owns the school record for passing yards in a regular season with 3,488 entering Friday’s finale.

Coach Prime says Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter will play in Colorado’s bowl game

Coach Prime was asked if Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter will play in Colorado’s postseason bowl game

Hoping to avoid injury ahead of the NFL draft process, it has become commonplace for star college football players to opt out of bowl games.

Unless Colorado pulls off a miracle and wins the Big 12 Conference, quarterback Shedeur Sanders and cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter are headed to a non-College Football Playoff bowl game. However, Colorado’s pair of projected first-round picks are expected to boot the opt-out trend,Ā  according to head coach Deion Sanders.

Ahead of the Buffs’ regular season finale against Oklahoma State, Coach Prime was asked if Friday would mark Shedeur and Hunter’s final game in a CU uniform.

“No, it’s not the last time you’re gonna see them (Shedeur and Hunter) in a Buff uniform,” Coach Prime said. “These two and the rest of the seniors have done a wonderful job of getting us to where we are and instilling so much expectation in our fan base and expectation in ourselves. We’re gonna fight and try to go out there and kick some butt and end this thing on the right note. And we’re gonna go to a bowl game and end this thing on the right note because our fans deserve the absolute best.”

Take a photographic look back at Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter’s final season with the Buffs:

Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders shoves ref, isn’t penalized

Shedeur Sanders appeared to get away with pushing the ref

Tempers and emotions were high in Kansas’ win over Colorado on Saturday.

The Jayhawks’ Dean Miller escaped being penalized for a low hit on Shedeur Sanders that looked for sure like a personal foul.

Later in the game another fracas broke out and in the process the quarterback for Colorado, Sanders, pushed the referee.

He was fortunate to avoid a personal foul and possible ejection in the defeat.

Shedeur Sanders survives scary hit in first half against Kansas

Shedeur Sanders survived a brutal hit in the first half against Kansas

During Colorado football’s fourth drive against the Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday, quarterback Sheduer Sanders scrambled before finally releasing an incomplete pass intended for wide receiver Will Sheppard.

After the pass left Sanders’ hand, he took a brutal lower-body hit from Kansas linebacker Dean Miller, but no flag was thrown for roughing the passer. Sanders was shaken up after the hit but stayed in the game, throwing a touchdown pass to freshman Drelon Miller soon after.

The should-have-been roughing the passer penalty was obvious to everyone on social media. Vic Lombardi of Altitude Sports and former CU interim head coach Mike Sanford, in particular, expressed their frustration with the no-call on X (formerly Twitter).

The rule was famously introduced into the NFL after former New England Patriots QB Tom Brady was hit low early in the 2008 season and suffered a torn ACL. The low-blow element of the roughing the passer penalty was introduced to college football before the 2014 season to match up with the NFL rulebook.

Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders takes nasty low shot from Kansas’ Dean Miller

Shedeur Sanders took a nasty fall after a low hit against Kansas

Somehow, this was not called roughing the passer.

Shedeur Sanders threw the pass for Colorado against Kansas on Saturday and the Jayhawks’ Dean Miller came in low and leveled the quarterback.

There was a penalty flag on the play and everyone expected a personal foul on Miller, a 6-foot-5, 235-pound defensive end,

Nope!

Colorado was called for an ineligible man downfield.

Sanders, son of coach Deion Sanders, shook it off and hit drelon Miller with a 19-yard TD pass to bring Colorado within 20-14 late in the first half.

NFL mock draft from ESPN doesn’t have Travis Hunter No. 1 overall

There’s a good reason why.

By now, you know the drill.

The top player in college football doesn’t ALWAYS go No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft, mostly because QB-starved teams trade up or draft a quarterback.

So while Colorado’s Travis Hunter is a Heisman Trophy favorite and a player who might go No. 1 — he was in our latest NFL mock draft from Christian D’Andrea — the newest ESPN mock from Matt Miller had a different Colorado star going first.

That would be Shedeur Sanders, and that’s because he projected the New York Giants trading up with the Jaguars to No. 1. It makes sense to connect Sanders with the Giants as other mocks have, and here’s his take:

I have the Giants going big to fix their quarterback situation, giving Jacksonville their second- and third-round picks in 2025, plus a 2026 second-rounder, to move up from No. 3. It gets New York out in front of Cleveland, which could also be looking at the QB class, and crucially doesn’t involve any future first-round picks. And the Jaguars, meanwhile, collect valuable draft capital to restock a roster inĀ desperate need of repair.

Intriguing! Make sure to check out our latest NFL mock draft from D’Andrea!
