Auburn baseball picked to finish 6th in SEC West by conference coaches

The Tigers received no love despite making it to the College World Series last season.

Auburn has made it to the College World Series in two of the past three seasons but the SEC coaches are not high on the Tigers ahead of the 2023 season. The league’s coaches picked Auburn to finish sixth in the SEC West in their annual preseason poll.

Auburn will open its season on Feb. 17 against the Indiana Hoosiers in Plainsman Park. They will start conference play on March 17 against the Arkansas Razorbacks in Fayetteville. The 2023 SEC Baseball Tournament will take place from May 23-28 in Hoover, Alabama.

Here is a look at the full preseason poll.

Five takeaways from the preseason USA Today Coaches Poll

Here’s what we thought about the USA TODAY Coaches Poll.

We are less than three weeks away from college football. It’s that time of year again.

With the season approaching, preseason predictions and polls are coming out. Just this past Tuesday, the preseason USA Today Coaches Poll was released. I didn’t have a lot of complaints about the poll. Most of the teams seemed accurately placed. I can imagine the AP poll that comes out in less than a week may look slightly different (Will Ole Miss be ranked higher, Does Oklahoma move up to no. 2, etc.), but there should be few surprises.

Here are my five takeaways from the preseason USA Today Coaches Poll.
