Texas’ initial SEC basketball schedule revealed for 2024-25

The Longhorns know their opponents in first SEC basketball season.

The SEC basketball schedule is out. The Texas Longhorns know who they will face in their first season in the new conference.

Texas faithful will get to see the Longhorns host the Arkansas Razorbacks, Oklahoma Sooners and Texas A&M Aggies at home and on the road in the upcoming season. The rivalry selections are a credit to the SEC in giving home-and-home matchups for rivals within the league.

Interestingly enough, the Longhorns will get to host the both the Kentucky Wildcats and Alabama Crimson Tide. Kentucky, arguably a Top 3 college basketball program, has never played against Texas in Austin. Alabama reached the Final Four last season.

Former Texas head coach Rick Barnes and the Tennessee Volunteers battle Texas in Austin after the Volunteers eliminated the Longhorns in the NCAA Tournament.

Another former head coach Chris Beard will not return to Moody with the Ole Miss Rebels. The Longhorns will play Ole Miss in Oxford. Even so, with Texas seeing most of its most anticipated opponents at home, there’s plenty to be excited about in a first season in the SEC.

Georgia basketball announces SEC schedule

The Georgia basketball social media account shared an awesome video of players drawing and guessing mascots of every SEC opponent.

The Georgia Bulldogs basketball SEC schedule has been announced for the 2023-2024 season.

Georgia went 16-16 last year. The Bulldogs improved a considerable amount in year one under head coach Mark White. However, Georgia went only 6-12 in the SEC games and will look to improve on that record in 2023-2024.

The Dawgs added a lot of talented transfers and recruits this offseason and are hoping to make the NCAA Tournament.

During the 2023-2024 basketball season, Georgia will play Arkansas, South Carolina, LSU, Florida, and Auburn twice during SEC action. Georgia will play every remaining SEC opponent once.

Ranking Alabama basketball’s 2023-24 SEC schedule from easiest to toughest!

On Monday, the 2023-24 SEC men’s basketball schedule was released for each of the conference’s institutions. Nate Oats and the Alabama Crimson Tide look to defend their SEC regular-season and conference tournament titles after a dominating season in 2022-23.

The SEC continues to grow as a conference known for great men’s basketball, and I expect that to continue.

Even though tipoff is still a few months away, it is never too early to dissect the schedule and see which matchups are more favorable than others for Oats and the Tide.

While there aren’t truly any matchups that are easy, let’s rank Alabama’s SEC schedule from easiest to toughest.
