Seattle Kraken at New Jersey Devils odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Seattle Kraken at New Jersey Devils odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Seattle Kraken (17-9-0) take on the New Jersey Devils (17-9-2) Friday evening. Puck drop from Prudential Center is set for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Kraken vs. Devils odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Devils won 2-0 last season

The Kraken have started their road trip off right with wins against the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Islanders. The latest was a 5-2 victory Thursday as +109 dogs. The 20-year-old C Shane Wright scored his 5th goal of the season as G Joey Daccord stopped 27 of 29 fired his way.

The Devs have traded wins and losses over the last 5 games with the latest being a 5-1 win against the New York Rangers Monday. C Jack Hughes put 2 in the back of the net to give him 11 on the season. He has 6 points in the last 2 games.

  • Puck line (PL)/Against the spread (ATS): Kraken +1.5 (-115) | Devils -1.5 (-105)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 6 (O: -110 | U: -110)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4132″ ]

Kraken at Devils projected goalies

Philipp Grubauer (1-7-0, 3.62 GAA, .862 SV%) vs. Jacob Markstrom (12-6-1, 2.54 GAA, .907 SV%, 1 SO)

Grubauer hasn’t won since Oct. 17, and has lost his last 5 starts. His latest was last Friday in an 8-5 shellacking from the San Jose Sharks. He allowed a ridiculous 7 goals on 26 shots. He faced the Devils once last season, falling in a 2-1 game, where he made 15 saves on 17 shots.

Markstrom was stellar in the Monday victory at the Rangers, stopping 38 of 39. He saved 3.42 goals above expected in that game. This was a rare occurrence, at least of late, as he has allowed 2+ goals in 8 of 10 starts. He was 0-2 with a 3.10 GAA and .882 SV% in 2 starts against the Kraken last year.

Kraken at Devils picks and predictions

Prediction

Devils 4, Kraken 2

Moneyline

The Devils deserve to be massive favorites here. They’ve scored 5 goals in 3 straight games, and the Kraken are up you-know-what’s Creek with Grubauer’s struggles in goal. There’s no bet here, but I like DEVILS OVER 3.5 GOALS (-135).

Puck line/Against the spread

I normally avoid puck lines. They are too hard to predict as they usually require empty-netters. I also hate taking puck lines with minus odds.

I’m taking DEVILS -1.5 (-105), though. The Devils are 7-3-0 in their last 10, and 5 of those victories were by multiple goals.

Over/Under

We’re projecting a push here, and I’m good with the previous takes. I’m tempted to take Jake Hughes Over 1.5 points (+155), but that’s risky.

PASS.

New York Rangers at Seattle Kraken odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s New York Rangers at Seattle Kraken odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Seattle Kraken (9-8-1) host the New York Rangers (10-4-1) Sunday. Puck drop at Climate Pledge Arena is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Rangers at Kraken odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Seattle caps off a back-to-back against New York squads following a 3-2 victory as +102 home underdogs with the Under (5.5) cashing against the Islanders Saturday. D Jamie Oleksiak scored the eventual game-winner, breaking a 2-all tie with 3:13 to go. G Joey Daccord stopped 22 of 24 shots in the win. His start likely means that G Philipp Grubauer will be between the pipes Sunday to build on Seattle’s 4-game win streak.

The Rangers, meanwhile, have alternated wins and losses in their past 4 outings, most recently nudging past the San Jose Sharks in a 3-2 win Thursday. C Mika Zibanejad, LW Jimmy Vesey and C Vincent Trocheck scored all 3 of the Rangers’ goals in the 2nd period as they covered as big -424 home favorites with the Under (6.5) hitting. The victory marked a solid rebound effort for G Igor Shesterkin, who had allowed 5 goals in each of his previous 2 outings. Shesterkin stopped 25 of 27 San Jose shots in the win.

Rangers at Kraken odds

  • Moneyline (ML): Rangers -190 (bet $190 to win $100) | Kraken +155 (bet $100 to win $155)
  • Puck line (PL)/Against the spread (ATS): Rangers -1.5 (+135) | Kraken +1.5 (-160)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 6 (O: -115 | U: -105)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4132″ ]

Rangers at Kraken projected goalies

Igor Shesterkin (7-4-1, 2.78, .914%, 1 SO) vs. Philipp Grubauer (1-5-0, 3.27, .877%)

As noted above, Shesterkin rebounded from 2 tough home outings — 6-1 loss vs. Buffalo Sabres Nov. 17 and 6-3 setback vs. the league-best Winnipeg Jets Tuesday — to stymie the Sharks. In a small sample size, Shesty has performed much better away from Madison Square Garden, posting a 3-1 record with a 1.76 GAA in 4 road trips compared to 4-3 with a 3.32 GAA in 8 home games.

Grubauer looks set to step into this assignment in the second half of a back-to-back. The German veteran has allowed 3-plus goals in 4 of 6 appearances this season. He is 1-2 with a 3.43 GAA in 3 home games.

Rangers at Kraken picks and predictions

Prediction

Rangers 4, Kraken 2

Moneyline

New York (-190) is too heavy a favorite for my prediction for me to recommend betting the moneyline. I prefer to work the other 2 options below to maximize value.

PASS.

Puck line/Against the spread

New York’s puck line is a lofty bet, but the Rangers have been crushing the books on the road with a 5-1 ATS record in that split. This reflects Shesty’s recent preference for away games, too.

I’m expecting an empty-net goal to give this bet the check mark.

BET RANGERS -1.5 (+135).

Over/Under

These goalies might be in for a lighter night than expected. The Rangers rank 10th in MoneyPuck.com’s Goals Differential Above Expected (5.68), while Seattle sits 12th (4.24). The Rangers’ luck might be set to run out or at least slow down in this West Coast trip.

Since I’m expecting the exact total that BetMGM Sportsbook is using to establish the Over/Under line, I’ll roll with the Under in the hopes that Shesterkin stays hot and I’ll settle for the push if my predicted combined goal tally hits.

BET UNDER 6 (-105).

Vegas Golden Knights at Seattle Kraken odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Vegas Golden Knights at Seattle Kraken odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Vegas Golden Knights (9-3-1) take on the Seattle Kraken (5-8-1) Friday. Puck drop from Climate Pledge Arena is set for 10 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Golden Knights vs. Kraken odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Vegas won 3-1 last season

The Knights have won 2 straight and 6 of 7 after a 4-2 win at Edmonton Wednesday, covering as +143 road underdogs. D Noah Hanifin scored his 2nd and 3rd goals of the season — all 3 coming in the last 2 games. VGK has scored 2+ goals in every game this season and 3+ in the last 9.

Seattle returns home after a 5-game road trip that saw the Kraken lose the last 4. They lost 6-3 as +163 underdogs at Colorado Tuesday after they were shut out in consecutive games by Boston (2-0 Sunday) and Ottawa (3-0 last Saturday). They have scored 26 goals over their last 10 games, but 14 of those came in 2 games.

  • Moneyline (ML): Golden Knights -145 (bet $145 to win $100) | Kraken +120 (bet $100 to win $120)
  • Puck line (PL)/Against the spread (ATS): Golden Knights -1.5 (+170) | Kraken +1.5 (-210)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 6 (O: -105 | U: -115)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4132″ ]

Golden Knights at Kraken projected goalies

Adin Hill (6-2-0, 3.01 GAA, .882 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Joey Daccord (4-3-1, 2.76 GAA, .915 SV%,)

After a messy start, Hill has righted the ship. Over the last 3 games, he has allowed 5 goals on 64 shots, and VGK won all 3. Hill was 2-0-0 with a 2.46 GAA and .921 SV% last season against the Kraken.

Daccord has been steady over his last 3 starts, allowing 7 goals on 92 shots. His offense has forsake him, though, scoring just 1 goal in the 2 losses over the stretch. He faced Vegas once last season and shut them out, stopping all 35 sent his way.

Golden Knights at Kraken picks and predictions

Prediction

Golden Knights 5, Kraken 2

Moneyline

I really like the way Vegas (-145) is playing. The Golden Knights have 4 different players with 6+ goals, and none of them are C Jack Eichel. I’m frankly surprised Vegas isn’t favored more considering that Seattle (+120) is 21st in the league with 2.8 goals per game.

I’m PASSING on a ML bet, though I’m definitely open to taking the Golden Knights at -145.

Puck line/Against the spread

There is great value on the PL here at +170. Vegas is 9-4 ATS thus far. Over the last 10 meetings with the Kraken, the Golden Knights are 8-2 with 7 of those wins coming by multiple goals.

TAKE GOLDEN KNIGHTS -1.5 (+170).

Over/Under

This one sneaks over on the merits of Vegas’ powerful offense. If this were 6.5, I’d avoid it. The Over is just 3-7 in the last 10 head-to-head meetings, but VGK is 10-3 O/U on the season thanks to its offense.

LEAN OVER 6 (-105).

Seattle Kraken at Toronto Maple Leafs odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Seattle Kraken at Toronto Maple Leafs odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Seattle Kraken (5-4-1) make the second stop Thursday on a 5-game road trip against the Toronto Maple Leafs (5-4-1) at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Kraken vs. Maple Leafs odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Maple Leafs won 2-0 in 2023-24

The Kraken opened the 5-game road trip in grand fashion Tuesday, routing the Montreal Canadiens 8-2 as a moderate favorite (-170) as the Over (6) cashed. That halted a 3-game losing skid, as Seattle had picked up just 1 point out of a possible 6 points previous to Montreal.

The Maple Leafs picked up 3 out of 4 points in a 2-game road trip to the Boston Bruins and Winnipeg Jets. The Maple Leafs have allowed 4 or more goals in each of the past 4 outings, while the Over is 4-0-1 in the previous 5 contests.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4132″ ]

Kraken at Maple Leafs projected goalies

Joey Daccord (4-1-1, 2.80 GAA, .914 SV%) vs. Joseph Woll (0-1-0, 4.08 GAA, .846 SV%)

Daccord was in the crease for Tuesday’s rout against the Canadiens. He kicked aside 28 of the 30 shots he faced, and he has won 4 of his 6 starts, while allowing 3 or fewer goals in 4 of the previous 5 contests. He faced the Maple Leafs in Seattle Jan. 21 last season, allowing 2 goals on 25 shots in a 3-1 setback at Climate Pledge Arena.

Woll made his season debut last Thursday against the St. Louis Blues, allowing 4 goals on 26 shots in a 5-1 loss. He missed the first 3 weeks of the season due to tightness in his groin, with Anthony Stolarz and Dennis Hildeby filling in.

Kraken at Maple Leafs picks and predictions

Prediction

Maple Leafs 4, Kraken 3

Moneyline

The Maple Leafs (-210) will cost you more than 2 times your potential return, and that’s just a little too expensive for a straight up bet. As part of a multi-leg parlay, it’s OK to toss Toronto into the mix, however.

PASS on Toronto straight up.

Puck line/Against the spread

The KRAKEN +1.5 (-140) is worth a look as the underdog catching the goal and a half. Seattle’s offense was very impressive in the road trip opener, and Seattle has scored 15 goals in the past 2 road games, and 5 or more goals in 3 of 4 road outings this season.

There is plenty of risk, however, as Seattle is 3-1 as an underdog on the puck line, and it has 2 outright wins on the road as an underdog in Nashville and Minnesota this season.

Over/Under

OVER 6.5 (+100) is worth a look at even-money.

The Over has cashed in 2 of the past 3 games for the Kraken, but the total has gone high in 3 of 4 road outings this season. Seattle has averaged 5.0 goals per game (GPG) in those 4 games away from home.

For the Leafs, the Over is on a 4-0-1 run in the past 5 games, averaging 3.4 GPG, while allowing 4.2 GPG in the span.

Carolina Hurricanes at Seattle Kraken odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Carolina Hurricanes at Seattle Kraken odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Carolina Hurricanes (4-2-0) make the 5th stop on a 6-game road trip against the Seattle Kraken (4-3-1) at Climate Pledge Arena Saturday. Puck drop is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Hurricanes vs. Kraken odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Tied 1-1 in 2023-24

The Hurricanes have won 3 of the 1st 4 games on the trip, including a 4-2 victory in Calgary against the Flames Thursday. Carolina (-184) cashed as a heavy favorite, while covering on the puck line, while the Under (6.5) connected. The Under is 4-1-1 in 6 games for the Canes.

The Kraken were tripped up 4-3 in overtime against the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday as the Over (5.5) cashed. Each of Seattle’s past 3 games have been 1-goal games, while 5 of the 8 games have been decided by a single goal. The Over has a slight 4-3 edge in the past 7 outings.

Hurricanes at Kraken projected goalies

Frederik Andersen (2-1-0, 1.64 GAA, .939 SV%) vs. Philipp Grubauer (1-3-0, 3.10 GAA, .881 SV%)

Andersen dropped the opener Oct. 11 against the Tampa Bay Lightning, but he has bounced back with 2 straight games on this road trip against the Pittsburgh Penguins and Edmonton Oilers. He has allowed 3 goals on 61 shots.

Grubauer allowed 3 goals on 28 shots in a 3-2 home loss against the Colorado Avalanche, his former team, last time out Tuesday. He has won just once in 4 starts, while allowing 3 or more goals in 3 of his 4 outings.

Hurricanes at Kraken picks and predictions

Prediction

Hurricanes 3, Kraken 2

Moneyline

The HURRICANES (-175) are worth a look as a moderate favorite behind Andersen. Carolina suffered a 7-4 loss against the Kraken (+145) in last season’s visit to Seattle on Oct. 19, 2023. However, Carolina has won 4 of the past 5 meetings, outscoring Seattle 18-14.

Carolina has scored 3 or more goals in 5 straight games, while winning 4 of those outings.

Seattle is 1-1-1 in the past 3 games, with each of those games decided by a single goal.

Puck line/Against the spread

The Kraken +1.5 (-165) isn’t worth your potential return, and while they’ve been involved in 3 consecutive 1-goal games, it’s too expensive to risk this much for such a small reward.

The Hurricanes -1.5 (+135) have won by 2 or more goals in 3 of their 4 victories. However, Carolina has won just once in 3 trips to Seattle, so there is tremendous risk.

PASS.

Over/Under

UNDER 6 (-120) is worth a look in this East Coast vs. West Coast battle.

The Under is 4-1-1 in the 6 all-time meetings, with the total going 1-1-1 in the 3 battles at Climate Pledge.

Carolina has cashed low at a 4-1-1 pace in 6 outings this season, while going 3-1 in 4 games on the road. The Under is 2-1 in the past 3 games for Seattle, too.

Philadelphia Flyers at Seattle Kraken odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Philadelphia Flyers at Seattle Kraken odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Philadelphia Flyers (1-1-1) wrap up a 4-game road trip against the Seattle Kraken (2-2-0) at Climate Pledge Arena Thursday. Puck drop is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Flyers vs. Kraken odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; split last season 1-1

The Flyers opened the season in Vancouver, posting a 3-2 victory in a shootout. They were doubled up 6-3 in Calgary and blew a late lead in Edmonton in a 4-3 OT loss. The Over has cashed in each of the past 2 outings.

The Kraken have alternated wins and losses to start the season. After getting blanked 2-0 at Dallas Sunday, Seattle rebounded for a 7-3 rout of Nashville in the Music City Tuesday as a heavy underdog (+170). The Under and Over have each cashed in the 1st 4 games, too, with the Over (6) obviously cashing last time out against the Preds.

The home team has won 3 straight meetings in the series, and the Under cashed in both regular-season meetings in 2023-24.

Flyers at Kraken projected goalies

Samuel Ersson (1-0-1, 2.86 GAA, .898 SV%) vs. Philipp Grubauer (0-2-0, 2.59 GAA, .896 SV%)

Ersson is expected to get the start again Thursday. He allowed 4 goals on 31 shots in Edmonton, falling in overtime. He did not face the Kraken last season, but he stopped 9 of the 11 shots he faced in a relief appearance Feb. 16, 2023, in Seattle.

Grubauer has allowed just 5 goals on 48 shots so far, but the offensive support has been poor. The Kraken skaters have managed just 2 goals of support, while providing 12 goals in 2 wins for his fellow Seattle tendy Joey Daccord.

Flyers at Kraken picks and predictions

Prediction

Flyers 3, Kraken 2

Moneyline

The FLYERS (+115) are a solid play as slight underdogs at CPA Thursday.

The Kraken (-135) have struggled to provide much in the way of support with Grubauer in the crease. It’s a bit circumstantial, but until the offense helps him out, go with the opposition.

Puck line/Against the spread

The Flyers +1.5 (-225) will cost you over 2 times your potential return if you would like a little of insurance. That’s way too much risk for not nearly enough reward. There is never a reason to back an underdog on the puck line at such a significant price. In fact, it’s a rarity to back the ‘dog in this instance.

PASS.

Over/Under

UNDER 6 (-120) is the lean, however, you have to go with a half-unit play at best.

The Under is 2-0 in both of Grubauer’s starts, and the only previous home game for the Kraken went low.

For the Flyers, the Under cashed in Vancouver, but the Over hit in the past 2 outings. The Under connected in both regular-season meetings between these teams in 2023-24.

The Stars shut out the New York Islanders 3-0 Saturday. G Jake Oettinger saved all 34 shots that came his way. C Tyler Seguin scored 2 goals in the game. The Stars lost D Matt Dumba to a lower-body injury, and he’s likely out for this game.

Kraken at Stars projected goalies

Phillip Grubauer (0-1-0, 3.09 GAA, .880 SV%) vs. Casey DeSmith (12-9-6, 2.89 GAA, .896 SV% in 23-24).

Grubauer suffered a 120-second barrage from the St. Louis Blues in his 1st start. All 3 goals came in 1:55 as the Kraken fell 3-2. He stopped 22 of 25 in the process. Grubauer faced the Stars once last season and saved 27 of 30 in a 3-1 defeat.

DeSmith is slated for his 1st start of the season after coming over from Vancouver in the offseason. He had a solid campaign and was pretty good in 2 playoff appearances, going 1-1-0 with a 2.02 GAA and .911  SV%.

Kraken at Stars picks and predictions

Prediction

Stars 3, Kraken 2

Moneyline

Both teams are on back-to-backs, and Seattle has the edge between the pipes. I still give a slight edge to Dallas, but I wouldn’t bet anything close to -200 with their backup in net for the first time.

Instead, I’ll take JASON ROBERTSON OVER 2.5 SHOTS ON GOAL (-110). He had 5 SOG Saturday and 3+ SOG in 2 of 3 matchups against Seattle last season.

Puck line/Against the spread

I don’t have enough faith to take the Kraken straight up, but KRAKEN +1.5 (-160) is within range for me. The goalie edge that Seattle has is pretty glaring, but the home-ice advantage puts Dallas over the top for me.

Over/Under

Each team is 1-1 O/U thus far. The Over has cashed just once in the last 4 meetings between the clubs. Neither team is really clicking offensively yet. Take the UNDER 6 (-120).

St. Louis Blues at Seattle Kraken odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s St. Louis Blues at Seattle Kraken odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The St. Louis Blues meet the Seattle Kraken Tuesday at Climate Pledge Arena to start the 2024-25 season. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET (ESPN/ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Blues vs. Kraken odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Blues won 3-0 last season

The Blues have a lot of new faces, including a little bit of sandpaper. F Radek Faksa gives the team a little toughness, and D Philip Broberg and F Dylan Holloway were nice adds from the Edmonton Oilers. St. Louis is looking to bounce back after missing the postseason, and it’s a good bet to be much better.

The Kraken still have a pretty solid young core, including F Matty Beniers, but he took a big step backwards last season. The Kraken made some nice adds with F Chandler Stephenson up front, and Ds Josh Mahura and Brandon Montour on the back end to replace the departed Ds Brian Dumoulin and Justin Schultz.

Blues at Kraken projected goalies

Jordan Binnington (28-21-5, 2.84 GAA, .913 SV%, 3 SO in 2023-24) vs. Philipp Grubauer (14-16-2, 2.86 GAA, .899 SV%, 2 SO in 2023-24)

Binnington has been a bit of a slow starter in previous seasons, but facing Seattle could be just what the doctor ordered to get him off on a winning foot. He was 2-0-0 with a 1.88 GAA and .940 SV% in 2 starts against Seattle in 2023-24.

Grubauer didn’t face the Blues last season in Seattle’s 3 losses to St. Louis. However, he isn’t a great play against the Blues, as he had a 2.96 GAA and .896 SV%, which was statistically worse than his showings on the road. For whatever reason, he just isn’t comfortable at CPA.

Blues at Kraken picks and predictions

Prediction

Blues 3, Kraken 2

Moneyline

The BLUES (+120) are worth a roll of the dice on the moneyline based mostly on last season’s series. St. Louis was 3-for-3 against the Kraken (-145) in the 2023-24 campaign, and St. Louis is 7-2 in 9 all-time meetings, including 3-1 in the 4 meetings in the Pacific Northwest.

Puck line/Against the spread

The Blues +1.5 (-210) will cost you more than 2 times your potential return, and that’s way too much risk if you require a little bit of insurance.

St. Louis outscored Seattle 10-5 last season, but the lone meeting at Climate Pledge Arena ended up going to overtime, so be careful.

PASS.

Over/Under

UNDER 5.5 (+100) is a worth a look at even-money.

The total went low in 2 of the 3 meetings last season, and the early puck drop at 1:30 p.m. PDT will also work against the team’s offenses.

And, again, Binnington had a 1.88 GAA against the Kraken last season, so don’t expect the Seattle offense to light him up.

Seattle Kraken at Los Angeles Kings odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Seattle Kraken at Los Angeles Kings odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Seattle Kraken (31-30-13) make the 2nd stop on a 3-game road trip Wednesday against the Los Angeles Kings (38-25-11) at Crypto.com Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Kraken vs. Kings odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: Tied 1-1

The Kraken doubled up the San Jose Sharks on Monday by a 4-2 score in the Bay Area, winning for the 3rd time in the past 4 games. Those victories have come against teams not currently in the playoff race, however. In the past 12 games, Seattle is 3-7-2 since March 8.

The Kings suffered a 4-3 loss on the road against the Winnipeg Jets, and they’ve dropped the past 3 outings. The Over cashed in that loss, and the total has ended up going high in 5 of the past 7 outings.

Seattle has won 4 of the past 6 meetings since the start of the 2022-23 season, with 4 of the past 5 games decided by a single goal. The Under has cashed in 5 of the past 6 meetings.

  • Moneyline (ML): Kraken +150 (bet $100 to win $150) | Kings -185 (bet $185 to win $100)
  • Puck line (PL)/Against the spread (ATS): Kraken +1.5 (-165) | Kings -1.5 (+135)
  • Over/Under: 5.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Kraken at Kings projected goalies

Philipp Grubauer (12-13-2, 2.89 GAA, .898 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Cam Talbot (23-18-6, 2.48 GAA, .915 SV%, 3 SO)

Grubauer allowed just 2 goals on 26 shots in Monday’s 4-2 win in San Jose. He has won the past 2 outings, kicking aside 45 of the 49 shots he has faced. Grubauer has actually been much better on the road, going 6-5-1 with a 2.57 GAA and .912 SV% in 12 starts, while posting a 6-8-1 record, 3.14 GAA and .887 SV% in 17 home outings.

Talbot is the likely backstop for Wednesday’s game. He was tripped up for 4 goals on 32 shots in a 4-3 loss in Winnipeg on Monday, and he has dropped his past 2 starts after a 4-game win streak. He is 1-1-0 with a 1.97 GAA and .918 SV% in 2 outings against Seattle this season.

Kraken at Kings picks and predictions

Prediction

Kings 4, Kraken 2

Moneyline

The Kings (-185) are a little on the pricey side, costing nearly 2 times your potential return. There is plenty of risk, too, as the road team has won 4 straight meetings in this series.

The Kraken (+150) can’t be trusted, however, as Seattle has posted a dismal 3-7-2 mark in the past 12 games, picking up just 8 points out of a possible 24 available.

AVOID.

Puck line/Against the spread

The KINGS -1.5 (+135) are worth a roll of the dice, although play them lightly. Again, 4 of the past 5 meetings in this series have been decided by a single goal.

However, the Kraken +1.5 (-165) are really struggling lately, and Seattle has cobbled together 3 wins in the past 4 games, although it hasn’t beaten a winning team since March 5.

Over/Under

OVER 5.5 (-110) is the lean in this Pacific Division battle.

The Over and Under have alternated in the past 6 games for the Kraken. For the Kings, though, they’re driving this Over train, as the total has gone high in 5 of the past 7 games, averaging 3.6 goals per game (GPG), while allowing 4 goals in each of the past 3 outings.

Seattle Kraken at Tampa Bay Lightning odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Seattle Kraken at Tampa Bay Lightning odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Seattle Kraken (2-5-2) wrap up a 4-game road trip against the Tampa Bay Lightning (4-2-2) Monday at Amalie Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Kraken vs. Lightning odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

The Kraken haven’t had a great road trip. Seattle won 5-4 in overtime last Tuesday at Detroit, but it suffered a 3-2 OT loss in Carolina on Thursday, and a 3-2 setback at Florida on Saturday. The Kraken has scored 2 or fewer goals in 7 of its 9 games to date, with the Under going 7-2.

The Lightning have not only won the past 2 games, but Jonas Johansson has posted shutouts in both outings against the Carolina Hurricanes and San Jose Sharks. It’s the first time this season that the Under has cashed in consecutive games for the Lightning.

  • Moneyline (ML): Kraken +134 (bet $100 to win $134) | Lightning -162 (bet $162 to win $100)
  • Puck line (PL)/Against the spread (ATS): Kraken +1.5 (-176) | Lightning -1.5 (+146)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 6.5 (O: +100 | U: -122)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Kraken at Lightning projected goalies

Joey Daccord (2-1-2, 2.88 GAA, .912 SV%) vs. Jonas Johansson (4-1-2, 2.56 GAA, .925 SV%, 2 SO)

Daccord was on the short end of Saturday’s 3-2 loss at Florida, although he was solid with 35 saves on 38 shots. In fact, he has had 32 or more saves in 3 of the past 4 games, but he has received just 4 total goals of support in the past 2 games, both losses.

Johansson has been filling in admirably for the injured Andrei Vasileskiy, posting 2 straight shutouts. The last goal he allowed was an OT winner by the Maple Leafs on Oct. 21, so he is working on a scoreless streak of exactly 120:00.

Kraken at Lightning picks and predictions

Prediction

Lightning 4, Kraken 1

Moneyline

The LIGHTNING (-162) are a strong play at home against the skidding Kraken (+134).

Tampa Bay has posted a 3-0-2 record in the past 5 outings, last losing in regulation back on Oct. 15 in Ottawa in the NHL debut of G Matt Tomkins.

Puck line/Against the spread

The LIGHTNING -1.5 (+146) are worth playing lightly on the puck line. Tampa Bay has managed just a 2-2 mark in 4 games as a favorite on the puck line, so tread lightly.

In addition, the Kraken +1.5 (-176) might not be ticking off a lot of wins, but Seattle is 4-1 on the puck line as an underdog in the past 5 outings, so there is risk here.

Over/Under

UNDER 6.5 (-122) is worth a look based on Seattle’s inability to score goals, and Johansson’s ability to keep anybody from scoring on him lately.

For the Kraken, the Under is 7-2 in 9 games overall, while going 5-1 in 6 road outings. As far as the Lightning is concerned, the Under has hit in each of the past 2 contests, while going 3-1-2 in the past 6 games overall.
