Seattle Kraken at Minnesota Wild odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Seattle Kraken at Minnesota Wild odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Seattle Kraken (30-34-5) visit the Minnesota Wild (38-25-5) Wednesday in Minneapolis. The opening face-off at the Xcel Energy Center will be at 9:30 p.m. ET (TNT). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Kraken vs. Wild odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: Tied 1-1

The Kraken are playing for a second straight night. On Tuesday, they routed the Chicago Blackhawks 6-2. That contest lifted the lid on a 4-game road trip for a Seattle club that had been 1-4-0 over its previous 5 road tilts.

The scuffling-of-late Wild are continuing a 7-game home stand, doing so on the heels of a 3-1 triumph over the LA Kings Monday. That victory, earned with 2 goals in the final 5 minutes, marked just the fourth in Minnesota’s last 11 games (4-6-1).

  • Puck line (PL)/Against the spread (ATS): Kraken +1.5 (-165) | Wild -1.5 (+140)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 5.5 (O: -120 | U: +100)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4132″ ]

Kraken at Wild projected goalies

Philipp Grubauer (7-15-1, 3.61 GAA, .872 SV%) or Joey Daccord (22-18-4, 2.68 GAA, .909 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Filip Gustavsson (26-15-4, 2.57 GAA, .915 SV%, 4 SO)

Grubauer figures to get the nod after Daccord toiled in Tuesday’s contest in Chicago. The veteran netminder has struggled this season and spent all of February in the AHL. In 2 turns since returning, Grubaer has stopped 46 of 49 pucks.

Gustavsson made 28 saves in Monday’s 3-1 win. In 7 March games, the 26-year-old netminder has registered a .929 SV%. In 2 career starts against the Kraken, he has logged a .950 mark.

Kraken at Wild picks and predictions

Prediction

Wild 4, Kraken 2

Moneyline

No interest: PASS.

Puck line/Against the spread

Minnesota is 5-1-1 across its last 7 games against Seattle. When playing the back half of twin games in as many days, the Kraken are 0-10-0, scoring 1.50 goals per game while yielding 3.80.

The Wild offense has been undone of late by a low shooting percentage on 5-on-5 high-danger looks. And an improved Minnesota power play is 4 for its last 8 and 11 for its last 32 (34.4%).

Look for a fighting-for-important-points Wild team to get by with a cushion in this tilt on home ice.

BET MINNESOTA -1.5 (+140).

Over/Under

The Over has cashed in each of the 2 meetings this season and has hit in 4 straight Seattle-Minnesota tilts.

The expected-vs.-actual goals and puck-possession analytics are bullish on the upside of this total being the value side.

TAKE THE OVER 5.5 (-120).

Seattle Kraken at Washington Capitals odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Seattle Kraken at Washington Capitals odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Seattle Kraken (27-33-4) wrap up a 3-game road trip on Sunday against the Washington Capitals (41-14-8) at Capital One Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Kraken vs. Capitals odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: Capitals lead 1-0

Washington picked up a 3-0 win at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle as slight road favorites (-125) as the Under (5.5) cashed for the fifth straight time in this series. G Charlie Lindgren made 22 saves for the shutout, while LW Alexander Ovechkin had an empty-net goal.

Ovechkin has 885 career goals, and he needs 9 goals to tie, and 10 goals to break, the all-time NHL goal-scoring record held by Wayne Gretzky. He has 4 goals in 7 games against Seattle and is +100 to score on Sunday (+650 to score twice).

The Kraken opened the road trip with a 5-3 loss at the Nashville Predators, but Seattle earned a 4-1 win over the Flyers in Philadelphia as short ‘dogs (+130) behind G Philipp Grubauer. C Matty Beniers had a goal and an assist, while Grubauer kicked aside 23 of the 24 shots he faced.

The Capitals have pieced together 3 straight victories, including a 5-2 win over the visiting Detroit Red Wings last time out on Friday night as the Over (6.5) just came in. The Over-Under has alternated in each of the past 7 games.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4132″ ]

Kraken at Capitals projected goalies

Joey Daccord (21-17-3, 2.64 GAA, .911 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Charlie Lindgren (14-10-3, 2.66 GAA, .897 SV%, 1 SO)

Daccord has allowed 11 goals on 84 shots in 3 starts in March, good for a 1-2-0 record, 3.77 GAA and .869 SV%. He has allowed 3 or more goals in 4 straight starts, and 7 of the past 9 outings.

Lindgren allowed 2 goals on 17 shots in a 3-2 OTW against the New York Rangers on the road last time out on Wednesday. He had allowed 3 or more goals in each of his previous 4 outings. His only shutout of the season came Jan. 23 in Seattle, when he kicked aside all 23 shots he faced.

Kraken at Capitals picks and predictions

Prediction

Capitals 5, Kraken 2

Moneyline

The Capitals (-275) will set you back nearly 3 times your potential return, and that’s way too much risk for not nearly enough reward.

Even if you were to toss Washington into a multi-leg parlay, there is very little value there.

PASS.

Puck line/Against the spread

The CAPITALS -1.5 (+100) are a much better play on the puck line, especially at even-money.

Daccord has been very giving lately for the Kraken +1.5 (-120), and they simply cannot be trusted, straight up or otherwise. Seattle has won just 2 of the past 6 tries, and only once was Daccord in between the pipes. Seattle is 1-3 in the past 4 games on the puck line as an underdog.

Over/Under

OVER 6 (+100) is a solid play at even-money in the nation’s capital.

The Over has hit in 4 of the past 5 games for the Kraken, including each of Daccord’s past 4 starting assignments.

And, for the Caps, the Over is 2-1 in the past 3 games, and 10-3 across thge past 13 outings since Jan. 30.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The San Jose Sharks (15-32-6) and the Seattle Kraken (22-27-3) meet Thursday at Climate Pledge Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Sharks vs. Kraken odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: Sharks lead 2-0; San Jose swept a home-and-home Nov. 29-30, including a 4-2 win in Seattle, as the Over has cashed in both meetings

San Jose has won 3 in a row in this series, while cashing in 4 of the past 5 meetings, all as an underdog. The Over hold a 4-2 advantage in the past 6 in the series.

The Sharks picked up a 2-1 win at home Monday against the Pittsburgh Penguins as a moderate underdog (+158) as the Under (6.5) cashed, halting a 6-game skid. San Jose is 2-9-0 in the past 11 games, while the Over is on a 4-1 run in the previous 5 contests.

For the Kraken, they’re coming off a 6-4 loss at home Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks, dropping 3 of the past 4 games. The Over cashed against the Ducks, halting a 3-game run to the Under.

Sharks at Kraken projected goalies

Yaroslav Askarov (4-5-2, 2.87 GAA, .905 SV%) vs. Joey Daccord (17-12-2, 2.45 GAA, .917 SV%, 1 SO)

Askarov is confirmed to start. He allowed a single goal on 30 shots in the 2-1 win against the Penguins last time out Monday. He is a respectable 3-3-0 with a 3.06 GAA and .896 SV% in 6 starts and 1 relief appearance in  January.

Daccord coughed up 3 goals on 30 shots in a 4-2 loss in Edmonton on Monday. He has won 3 of the past 5 games, and he is 5-3-0 with a 2.28 GAA and .928 SV% in 8 starts and 2 relief appearances in January.

Daccord allowed 4 goals on 23 shots in a 4-2 loss Nov. 30 in Seattle against the Sharks.

Sharks at Kraken picks and predictions

Prediction

Sharks 4, Kraken 3

Moneyline

The SHARKS (+165) are a strong play on the road against the Kraken (-200), as San Jose has picked up 3 victories in a row in this series. For whatever reason, the Sharks just seem to have the number of the Kraken. And, San Jose skates in with a little momentum after picking up a 2-1 victory against Pittsburgh last time out.

Puck line/Against the spread

If you can’t bring yourself to back the SHARKS +1.5 (-140) straight up, they’re not priced out of line if you’d like a little bit of insurance.

San Jose has covered 2 of the past 3 games as an underdog on the puck line, while posting a respectable 17-13 in the past 30 as a ‘dog since Nov. 25.

Over/Under

OVER 6 (-110) is worth playing lightly in this Pacific Division battle.

The Over has cashed at a 6-4-1 clip in the past 11 games for the Kraken, while also hitting in the first 2 meetings this season.

For the Sharks, the Under cashed last time out against the Penguins, but the Over is on a 4-1 run in the past 5 outings since Jan. 20.

Seattle Kraken at Detroit Red Wings odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Seattle Kraken at Detroit Red Wings odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Seattle Kraken (18-22-3) make the third stop on a 5-game road trip Sunday against the Detroit Red Wings (19-18-4) at Little Caesars Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET (NHL Network). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Kraken vs. Red Wings odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Tied 1-1 in 2023-24

The road team won each meeting in 2023-24 in overtime, each as an underdog, while the Over is 3-0 in the past 3 meetings. Seattle has won the past 4 in this series, while 3 straight games have been decided in overtime, and 4 of the 6 all-time meetings have needed OT or a shootout.

The Kraken roughed up the Buffalo Sabres 6-2 on Saturday, bouncing back from a 6-2 setback at the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday. Despite the Saturday win, Seattle is still just 1-3-1 in the past 5 games. The Over has cashed in both games on the road trip, while cashing in 7 of the past 9 outings.

The Red Wings posted a 5-3 win Friday against the Chicago Blackhaws, a sixth consecutive victory dating back to Dec. 29. The Over is on a 6-1 roll for Detroit, averaging 4.2 goals per game (GPG) in the win streak, while allowing 2.5 GPG.

Kraken at Red Wings projected goalies

Philipp Grubauer (5-13-1, 3.62 GAA, .875% SV) vs. Cam Talbot (9-9-2, 3.03 GAA, .901 SV%, 1 SO)

Grubauer allowed 5 goals on just 19 shots in Thursday’s 6-2 loss against the Blue Jackets. He has allowed 3 or more goals in all 4 January starts, going 0-3-1 with a 3.91 GAA and .861 SV%. His last victory was Dec. 30 against the Utah Hockey Club, and his last win on the road was Dec. 28 in Vancouver.

Talbot coughed up 3 goals on 15 shots in Friday’s 5-3 victory against the Blackhawks, and he moved to a 3-0-0 with a 3.34 GAA and .857 SV% in 2 starts and 3 appearances in January.

Kraken at Red Wings picks and predictions

Prediction

Red Wings 5, Kraken 3

Moneyline

The RED WINGS (-150) are a strong play as just moderate favorites. As hot as Detroit has been, and as much as the Kraken (+125) has struggled lately, it’s surprising that the Wings aren’t favored by way more. Take advantage.

The Red Wings also won 6 in a row Feb. 17-27 last season, including a 4-3 OTW in Seattle. However, Detroit hasn’t won 7 or more games in a row since winning 7 in a row Jan. 12-23, 2012.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Puck line/Against the spread

The RED WINGS -1.5 (+170) are worth a roll of the dice, although there is risk. Detroit hasn’t won 7 in a row in nearly 13 full calendar years, and the past 3 meetings with the Kraken +1.5 (-210) have ended up going to OT.

However, Seattle is also just 1-3-1 in the past 5 games, scoring 2 or fewer goals in 3 of the past 4 outings.

Over/Under

OVER 6 (+100) is a good play at even-money.

The Over is 7-2 across the past 9 games for the Kraken, while the Red Wings have hit high in 6 of the past 7 outings. In addition, the Over has cashed in 3 straight meetings in this series, while going 4-0-2 all-time in the 6 meetings.

New Jersey Devils at Seattle Kraken odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s New Jersey Devils at Seattle Kraken odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The New Jersey Devils (24-15-3) and Seattle Kraken (17-20-3) tussle Monday at Climate Pledge Arena. The opening puck drop will be at 10 p.m. (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Devils vs. Kraken odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: Devils lead 1-0 with 3-2 home win Dec. 6

New Jersey last played Saturday, losing 3-2 at the San Jose Sharks. A club that went 6-1-0 from Dec. 12-27 has now lost 4 consecutive games (0-4-0). The Devils, who rank 11th in the league in scoring (3.19 goals per game), have scored just 6 goals over that 4-game slide.

Seattle also heads in to this contest on one-day rest. The Kraken lost 4-2 to the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday. Seattle filed just 17 shots on goal (a season low) against the Oilers. It has lost 2 in a row and 7 of its last 9 (2-6-1).

Devils at Kraken projected goalies

Jacob Markstrom (19-8-2, 2.18 GAA, .911 SV%) vs. Philipp Grubauer (5-11-1, 3.47 GAA, .879 SV%)

Markstrom allowed 3 goals and was the loser in Saturday’s tilt at San Jose. But the 34-year-old has been quite good of late, posting a .929 SV% since Dec. 12. He owns a fine .920 SV% on the road this season.

Grubauer allowed 3 goals on 31 shots in Saturday’s loss to Edmonton.

Devils at Kraken picks and predictions

Prediction

Devils 5, Kraken 2

Moneyline

No interest: PASS.

Puck line/Against the spread

New Jersey has won 4 in a row against Seattle. When playing on one-day rest, the Devils are 15-6-2.

The Devils’ 5-on-5 analytics during their slide have not been impressive. But overall this season, New Jersey has deserved a better fate offensively.

Seattle is just 1-3-1 over its last 5 home games. Six of the club’s last 7 losses have been by multi-goal margins. Peg DEVILS -1.5 (+105) as being the value side of this contest.

Over/Under

The Over is 5-1 across the Kraken’s last 6 contests. Two of the last 3 series games in Seattle have cashed on the Over (2-1).

Seattle is not an overly penalized club, but it is one trending toward more short-handed minutes of late. That’s a marginal tilt toward the Over as well: New Jersey’s 28.9% power-play ranks second in the league.

TAKE THE OVER 6 (-105).

Seattle Kraken at New Jersey Devils odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Seattle Kraken at New Jersey Devils odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Seattle Kraken (17-9-0) take on the New Jersey Devils (17-9-2) Friday evening. Puck drop from Prudential Center is set for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Kraken vs. Devils odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Devils won 2-0 last season

The Kraken have started their road trip off right with wins against the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Islanders. The latest was a 5-2 victory Thursday as +109 dogs. The 20-year-old C Shane Wright scored his 5th goal of the season as G Joey Daccord stopped 27 of 29 fired his way.

The Devs have traded wins and losses over the last 5 games with the latest being a 5-1 win against the New York Rangers Monday. C Jack Hughes put 2 in the back of the net to give him 11 on the season. He has 6 points in the last 2 games.

  • Puck line (PL)/Against the spread (ATS): Kraken +1.5 (-115) | Devils -1.5 (-105)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 6 (O: -110 | U: -110)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4132″ ]

Kraken at Devils projected goalies

Philipp Grubauer (1-7-0, 3.62 GAA, .862 SV%) vs. Jacob Markstrom (12-6-1, 2.54 GAA, .907 SV%, 1 SO)

Grubauer hasn’t won since Oct. 17, and has lost his last 5 starts. His latest was last Friday in an 8-5 shellacking from the San Jose Sharks. He allowed a ridiculous 7 goals on 26 shots. He faced the Devils once last season, falling in a 2-1 game, where he made 15 saves on 17 shots.

Markstrom was stellar in the Monday victory at the Rangers, stopping 38 of 39. He saved 3.42 goals above expected in that game. This was a rare occurrence, at least of late, as he has allowed 2+ goals in 8 of 10 starts. He was 0-2 with a 3.10 GAA and .882 SV% in 2 starts against the Kraken last year.

Kraken at Devils picks and predictions

Prediction

Devils 4, Kraken 2

Moneyline

The Devils deserve to be massive favorites here. They’ve scored 5 goals in 3 straight games, and the Kraken are up you-know-what’s Creek with Grubauer’s struggles in goal. There’s no bet here, but I like DEVILS OVER 3.5 GOALS (-135).

Puck line/Against the spread

I normally avoid puck lines. They are too hard to predict as they usually require empty-netters. I also hate taking puck lines with minus odds.

I’m taking DEVILS -1.5 (-105), though. The Devils are 7-3-0 in their last 10, and 5 of those victories were by multiple goals.

Over/Under

We’re projecting a push here, and I’m good with the previous takes. I’m tempted to take Jake Hughes Over 1.5 points (+155), but that’s risky.

New York Rangers at Seattle Kraken odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s New York Rangers at Seattle Kraken odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Seattle Kraken (9-8-1) host the New York Rangers (10-4-1) Sunday. Puck drop at Climate Pledge Arena is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Rangers at Kraken odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Seattle caps off a back-to-back against New York squads following a 3-2 victory as +102 home underdogs with the Under (5.5) cashing against the Islanders Saturday. D Jamie Oleksiak scored the eventual game-winner, breaking a 2-all tie with 3:13 to go. G Joey Daccord stopped 22 of 24 shots in the win. His start likely means that G Philipp Grubauer will be between the pipes Sunday to build on Seattle’s 4-game win streak.

The Rangers, meanwhile, have alternated wins and losses in their past 4 outings, most recently nudging past the San Jose Sharks in a 3-2 win Thursday. C Mika Zibanejad, LW Jimmy Vesey and C Vincent Trocheck scored all 3 of the Rangers’ goals in the 2nd period as they covered as big -424 home favorites with the Under (6.5) hitting. The victory marked a solid rebound effort for G Igor Shesterkin, who had allowed 5 goals in each of his previous 2 outings. Shesterkin stopped 25 of 27 San Jose shots in the win.

Rangers at Kraken projected goalies

Igor Shesterkin (7-4-1, 2.78, .914%, 1 SO) vs. Philipp Grubauer (1-5-0, 3.27, .877%)

As noted above, Shesterkin rebounded from 2 tough home outings — 6-1 loss vs. Buffalo Sabres Nov. 17 and 6-3 setback vs. the league-best Winnipeg Jets Tuesday — to stymie the Sharks. In a small sample size, Shesty has performed much better away from Madison Square Garden, posting a 3-1 record with a 1.76 GAA in 4 road trips compared to 4-3 with a 3.32 GAA in 8 home games.

Grubauer looks set to step into this assignment in the second half of a back-to-back. The German veteran has allowed 3-plus goals in 4 of 6 appearances this season. He is 1-2 with a 3.43 GAA in 3 home games.

Rangers at Kraken picks and predictions

Prediction

Rangers 4, Kraken 2

Moneyline

New York (-190) is too heavy a favorite for my prediction for me to recommend betting the moneyline. I prefer to work the other 2 options below to maximize value.

PASS.

Puck line/Against the spread

New York’s puck line is a lofty bet, but the Rangers have been crushing the books on the road with a 5-1 ATS record in that split. This reflects Shesty’s recent preference for away games, too.

I’m expecting an empty-net goal to give this bet the check mark.

BET RANGERS -1.5 (+135).

Over/Under

These goalies might be in for a lighter night than expected. The Rangers rank 10th in MoneyPuck.com’s Goals Differential Above Expected (5.68), while Seattle sits 12th (4.24). The Rangers’ luck might be set to run out or at least slow down in this West Coast trip.

Since I’m expecting the exact total that BetMGM Sportsbook is using to establish the Over/Under line, I’ll roll with the Under in the hopes that Shesterkin stays hot and I’ll settle for the push if my predicted combined goal tally hits.

BET UNDER 6 (-105).

Vegas Golden Knights at Seattle Kraken odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Vegas Golden Knights at Seattle Kraken odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Vegas Golden Knights (9-3-1) take on the Seattle Kraken (5-8-1) Friday. Puck drop from Climate Pledge Arena is set for 10 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Golden Knights vs. Kraken odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Vegas won 3-1 last season

The Knights have won 2 straight and 6 of 7 after a 4-2 win at Edmonton Wednesday, covering as +143 road underdogs. D Noah Hanifin scored his 2nd and 3rd goals of the season — all 3 coming in the last 2 games. VGK has scored 2+ goals in every game this season and 3+ in the last 9.

Seattle returns home after a 5-game road trip that saw the Kraken lose the last 4. They lost 6-3 as +163 underdogs at Colorado Tuesday after they were shut out in consecutive games by Boston (2-0 Sunday) and Ottawa (3-0 last Saturday). They have scored 26 goals over their last 10 games, but 14 of those came in 2 games.

Golden Knights at Kraken projected goalies

Adin Hill (6-2-0, 3.01 GAA, .882 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Joey Daccord (4-3-1, 2.76 GAA, .915 SV%,)

After a messy start, Hill has righted the ship. Over the last 3 games, he has allowed 5 goals on 64 shots, and VGK won all 3. Hill was 2-0-0 with a 2.46 GAA and .921 SV% last season against the Kraken.

Daccord has been steady over his last 3 starts, allowing 7 goals on 92 shots. His offense has forsake him, though, scoring just 1 goal in the 2 losses over the stretch. He faced Vegas once last season and shut them out, stopping all 35 sent his way.

Golden Knights at Kraken picks and predictions

Prediction

Golden Knights 5, Kraken 2

Moneyline

I really like the way Vegas (-145) is playing. The Golden Knights have 4 different players with 6+ goals, and none of them are C Jack Eichel. I’m frankly surprised Vegas isn’t favored more considering that Seattle (+120) is 21st in the league with 2.8 goals per game.

I’m PASSING on a ML bet, though I’m definitely open to taking the Golden Knights at -145.

Puck line/Against the spread

There is great value on the PL here at +170. Vegas is 9-4 ATS thus far. Over the last 10 meetings with the Kraken, the Golden Knights are 8-2 with 7 of those wins coming by multiple goals.

TAKE GOLDEN KNIGHTS -1.5 (+170).

Over/Under

This one sneaks over on the merits of Vegas’ powerful offense. If this were 6.5, I’d avoid it. The Over is just 3-7 in the last 10 head-to-head meetings, but VGK is 10-3 O/U on the season thanks to its offense.

LEAN OVER 6 (-105).

Seattle Kraken at Toronto Maple Leafs odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Seattle Kraken at Toronto Maple Leafs odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Seattle Kraken (5-4-1) make the second stop Thursday on a 5-game road trip against the Toronto Maple Leafs (5-4-1) at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Kraken vs. Maple Leafs odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Maple Leafs won 2-0 in 2023-24

The Kraken opened the 5-game road trip in grand fashion Tuesday, routing the Montreal Canadiens 8-2 as a moderate favorite (-170) as the Over (6) cashed. That halted a 3-game losing skid, as Seattle had picked up just 1 point out of a possible 6 points previous to Montreal.

The Maple Leafs picked up 3 out of 4 points in a 2-game road trip to the Boston Bruins and Winnipeg Jets. The Maple Leafs have allowed 4 or more goals in each of the past 4 outings, while the Over is 4-0-1 in the previous 5 contests.

Kraken at Maple Leafs projected goalies

Joey Daccord (4-1-1, 2.80 GAA, .914 SV%) vs. Joseph Woll (0-1-0, 4.08 GAA, .846 SV%)

Daccord was in the crease for Tuesday’s rout against the Canadiens. He kicked aside 28 of the 30 shots he faced, and he has won 4 of his 6 starts, while allowing 3 or fewer goals in 4 of the previous 5 contests. He faced the Maple Leafs in Seattle Jan. 21 last season, allowing 2 goals on 25 shots in a 3-1 setback at Climate Pledge Arena.

Woll made his season debut last Thursday against the St. Louis Blues, allowing 4 goals on 26 shots in a 5-1 loss. He missed the first 3 weeks of the season due to tightness in his groin, with Anthony Stolarz and Dennis Hildeby filling in.

Kraken at Maple Leafs picks and predictions

Prediction

Maple Leafs 4, Kraken 3

Moneyline

The Maple Leafs (-210) will cost you more than 2 times your potential return, and that’s just a little too expensive for a straight up bet. As part of a multi-leg parlay, it’s OK to toss Toronto into the mix, however.

PASS on Toronto straight up.

Puck line/Against the spread

The KRAKEN +1.5 (-140) is worth a look as the underdog catching the goal and a half. Seattle’s offense was very impressive in the road trip opener, and Seattle has scored 15 goals in the past 2 road games, and 5 or more goals in 3 of 4 road outings this season.

There is plenty of risk, however, as Seattle is 3-1 as an underdog on the puck line, and it has 2 outright wins on the road as an underdog in Nashville and Minnesota this season.

Over/Under

OVER 6.5 (+100) is worth a look at even-money.

The Over has cashed in 2 of the past 3 games for the Kraken, but the total has gone high in 3 of 4 road outings this season. Seattle has averaged 5.0 goals per game (GPG) in those 4 games away from home.

For the Leafs, the Over is on a 4-0-1 run in the past 5 games, averaging 3.4 GPG, while allowing 4.2 GPG in the span.

Carolina Hurricanes at Seattle Kraken odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Carolina Hurricanes at Seattle Kraken odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Carolina Hurricanes (4-2-0) make the 5th stop on a 6-game road trip against the Seattle Kraken (4-3-1) at Climate Pledge Arena Saturday. Puck drop is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Hurricanes vs. Kraken odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Tied 1-1 in 2023-24

The Hurricanes have won 3 of the 1st 4 games on the trip, including a 4-2 victory in Calgary against the Flames Thursday. Carolina (-184) cashed as a heavy favorite, while covering on the puck line, while the Under (6.5) connected. The Under is 4-1-1 in 6 games for the Canes.

The Kraken were tripped up 4-3 in overtime against the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday as the Over (5.5) cashed. Each of Seattle’s past 3 games have been 1-goal games, while 5 of the 8 games have been decided by a single goal. The Over has a slight 4-3 edge in the past 7 outings.

Hurricanes at Kraken projected goalies

Frederik Andersen (2-1-0, 1.64 GAA, .939 SV%) vs. Philipp Grubauer (1-3-0, 3.10 GAA, .881 SV%)

Andersen dropped the opener Oct. 11 against the Tampa Bay Lightning, but he has bounced back with 2 straight games on this road trip against the Pittsburgh Penguins and Edmonton Oilers. He has allowed 3 goals on 61 shots.

Grubauer allowed 3 goals on 28 shots in a 3-2 home loss against the Colorado Avalanche, his former team, last time out Tuesday. He has won just once in 4 starts, while allowing 3 or more goals in 3 of his 4 outings.

Hurricanes at Kraken picks and predictions

Prediction

Hurricanes 3, Kraken 2

Moneyline

The HURRICANES (-175) are worth a look as a moderate favorite behind Andersen. Carolina suffered a 7-4 loss against the Kraken (+145) in last season’s visit to Seattle on Oct. 19, 2023. However, Carolina has won 4 of the past 5 meetings, outscoring Seattle 18-14.

Carolina has scored 3 or more goals in 5 straight games, while winning 4 of those outings.

Seattle is 1-1-1 in the past 3 games, with each of those games decided by a single goal.

Puck line/Against the spread

The Kraken +1.5 (-165) isn’t worth your potential return, and while they’ve been involved in 3 consecutive 1-goal games, it’s too expensive to risk this much for such a small reward.

The Hurricanes -1.5 (+135) have won by 2 or more goals in 3 of their 4 victories. However, Carolina has won just once in 3 trips to Seattle, so there is tremendous risk.

PASS.

Over/Under

UNDER 6 (-120) is worth a look in this East Coast vs. West Coast battle.

The Under is 4-1-1 in the 6 all-time meetings, with the total going 1-1-1 in the 3 battles at Climate Pledge.

Carolina has cashed low at a 4-1-1 pace in 6 outings this season, while going 3-1 in 4 games on the road. The Under is 2-1 in the past 3 games for Seattle, too.
