Yesterday the Seattle Seahawks revealed their glorious new alternate uniform – a refurbished version of their bold green, blue and silver look from the 80s and 90s. As expected, the throwbacks are a hit. On Twitter the reviews for the new look are almost universally positive – no small feat on a social media site that thrives on misery and lies.

In fact, while the Seahawks are scheduled to wear them Week 8 against the Cleveland Browns and again Week 13 against the Dallas Cowboys, they’re so popular that a lot of people want to see the team adopt the throwbacks as their full-time uniforms. There’s even a petition for the team to wear them their first game of the season.
