What you need to know about the upcoming 2022 NFL schedule release

Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming 2022 NFL schedule release set to be revealed on Thursday, May 12.

Football fans only have to wait one more day to find out when their favorite teams are going to square off this year. The full 2022 NFL regular-season schedule will be released on Thursday, May 12.

First, NBC will announce a select game during the “Today Show,” which will air nationally on Thursday morning. Next up, clubs themselves can reveal their first home game opponent beginning at 3:00 p.m. PT.

Finally, the complete 2022 schedule will be released at 5:00 p.m. PT on the NFL Network, NFL.com and the NFL app. The three-hour “Schedule Release ’22” show will also be simulcast on FS1.

Additional programming will also be available on ESPN2, which will air its own primetime special, and ESPN+.

After each game is officially announced, fans will be able to purchase available single-game tickets.

Teams to release own schedules on social media ahead of NFL Network

For the first time ever, all 32 teams will be allowed to release their own season schedules on social media ahead of NFL Network broadcast.

Seattle Seahawks fans will be getting a glimpse of their favorite team’s 2020 regular-season schedule 30 minutes prior to the official NFL Network’s schedule release show which is set to air Thursday, May 9 at 5:00 p.m. PT.

The Big Lead has confirmed that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will be allowing clubs to release their individual schedules a half hour before the show begins on their social media platforms.

“First, for the first time ever, each club may release its own game schedule on its owned and operated media platforms at 7:30 p.m. ET, 30 minutes before the NFL Network Schedule Release show begins at 8:00 p.m.,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said via The Big Lead. “Clubs can choose to release their schedule in any appropriate way they choose, while prominently promoting the national NFL Network Schedule Release show to follow, during which the full schedule will be released, analyzed and discussed.”
