Alabama’s junio outfielder Tyler Gentry entered the 2020 MLB draft as the No. 81 ranked ESPN prospect, the only Crimson Tide member within the top-200.
Despite nine SEC baseball players being selected in round No.1 of the draft, Alabama came up empty handed. The wait didn’t last much longer as Gentry was drafted with the No. 76 overall pick by the Kansas City Royals.
Gentry appeared in 73 games where he had a batting average of .335, 17 homers, 63 RBI’s, OBP of .420 and only 61 strikeouts through two seasons with Alabama.
