Texas A&M looking to add another UGA transfer

Texas A&M is hosting another Georgia Bulldog, who is a former 5-star,s in the transfer portal.

The Texas A&M Aggies are looking to add another former Georgia Bulldog via the transfer portal. Sam M’Pemba is expected to be visiting the Aggies this week, according to Sports Illustrated.

M’Pemba, who is a former five-star recruit, spent his Georgia career as a reserve edge rusher for the Bulldogs. In two years, he had six tackles and played in 15 total games. Georgia edge rushers Mykel Williams, Jalon Walker, Damon Wilson, Chaz Chambliss and Gabe Harris all played over M’Pemba this season, so M’Pemba likely entered the portal in order receive more playing.

If Texas A&M lands him, the Aggies will be getting a former five-star recruit who has at least two more years of eligibility. At 6-foot-3, 250-pounds M’Pemba could be a future NFL player.

Of course, M’Pemba would be joining former Georgia four-star cornerback Julian Humphrey with the Aggies. M’Pemba isn’t the only defensive lineman to transfer; Jamaal Jarrett recently committed to USC. Regardless, Georgia will need to replace both of those defensive linemen.

Former five-star recruit, Georgia pass rusher is entering the transfer portal

Edge rusher Sam M’Pemba is the latest Georgia Bulldogs football player that plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal. M’Pemba spent two seasons as a rotation player on the Bulldogs’ defense but never carved out a consistent role. Over 15 games during his time in Athens, he recorded six tackles while serving primarily as a reserve.

M’Pemba, a former five-star prospect, is from Saint Louis, Missouri. He attended IMG Academy, a powerhouse for high school football. Known for his raw athletic ability, M’Pemba has the potential to develop into an NFL draft caliber player. He certainly has untapped potential within his 6-foot-3, 250-pound frame.

With three years of eligibility remaining, M’Pemba seeks more opportunities with another Power  Four program. He is the sixth Georgia player, and second on Friday to enter the portal during the winter transfer portal cycle. He joins Troy Bowles, David Daniel-Sisavanh, Julian HumphreyMichael Jackson III, Jamaal Jarrett and Justyn Rhett.
