Below, we compiled the best quotes from Michigan State running backs coach William Peagler, defensive line coach Ron Burton, and quarterback Payton Thorne.

Michigan State have made Chase Carter a priority since the beginning of the 2022 recruiting cycle. A product of Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Carter plans to announce his decision tomorrow.

Carter is down to a final two between Big Ten foes Michigan State and Iowa. Carter has officially visited both schools, along with Iowa State, and feels ready to make a decision.

Carter, a 6’6″ 215 pound defensive end, is the perfect combination of size and athleticism defensive line coach Ron Burton is looking for in recruits. Carter also holds a handful of power five basketball offers.

The Spartans feel good about where they sit in this recruitment going into decision day.

WATCH: Michigan State Football coaching staff puts out hilarious Full House Tik Tok

The Michigan State Football coaching staff put their own spin on the Full House intro in a hilarious Tik Tok video.

[jwplayer PPs4Ox8k]

In this edition of, ‘The most 2020 thing I’ve seen all week’, the Michigan State Football team has officially created a Tik Tok account, and I have to give them some credit because they put out a pretty hilarious video to launch the new account of the coaching staff in a funny take on the Full House intro.

Here are a few of my favorite moments:

  • Special Teams Coordinator Ross Els using an elaborate Ferris Bueller-esque setup to chill on the couch during the quarantine.
  • Offensive Line Coach Chris Kapilovic pushing car because of course the offensive line coach is pushing a car.
  • Defensive Line Coach Ron Burton sinking a putt. Great form. This was my Masters moment.

Report: MSU Football DL Coach Ron Burton gets new 2-year, $510,000 per year deal

According to Tony Paul of the Detroit News, Michigan State DL Coach Ron Burton will be making $510,000 per year.

[jwplayer 2yR6zTsh]

When Michigan State hired Mel Tucker away from Colorado to helm their Football program, he had some decisions to make on his administration. While Tucker did go out and find some new staff members, he also decided to keep a few members of Dantonio’s staff around. One of those staff members was defensive line coach Ron Burton, who will reportedly be getting a nice raise. Tony Paul of the Detroit News reported today that Burton has signed a 2-year deal worth $510,000 per year.

According to 247sports, Burton made $424,616 last season under Dantonio.

Burton was originally slated to depart MSU for Indiana but Tucker was able to get him to stay. That decision seems to have paid off for Burton.

It was reported earlier in the year that the Spartans new offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic will be making $700,000 per year and wide receivers coach Courtney Hawkins will be at $387,000 per year.

MSU Football coach Mel Tucker retains assistants Ron Burton & Mike Tressel

Michigan State Football coach Mel Tucker will retain two assistants from the Dantonio era in Mike Tressel & Ron Burton. Read more here.

Michigan State Football coach Mel Tucker is putting together his new staff of coaches. Tucker plans on retaining two assistants from the Dantonio era in Mike Tressel and Ron Burton. Burton joins the new staff as the defensive line coach whereas Tressel’s new role has yet to be determined.

Here is a tweet from Mel Tucker on this decision:

Initially, Ron Burton was heading to Indiana for a defensive line job. Obviously, this is no longer true. The retention of both Burton and Tressel helps Mel Tucker get up to speed on MSU’s personnel. Plus, Michigan State’s defense was certainly not a key issue last year.
