Rob Gronkowski will be in Miami for the Super Bowl in February, but not anywhere near the field.

The retired New England Patriot announced his latest venture on Tuesday, a one-day music festival called “Gronk Beach.” Per the event’s website, the festival will feature some of his favorite musical acts like Diplo, Kaskade, Flo Rida, and Rick Ross.

The event will take place on Miami Beach on Saturday, Feb. 1, the day before Super Bowl LIV at the Dolphins’ Hard Rock Stadium.

“I wouldn’t say ‘never coming back'”

It’s clear that the New England Patriots could use Rob Gronkowski, but that won’t happen this season.

Gronkowski happily retired last season after completing a career that gave him three Super Bowl rings and a bid into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He’s teased the idea of returning multiple times throughout this season and he’s also thoroughly shut that idea down. He has until Nov. 30 to make a return, but he’s decided to enjoy his retirement instead.

He hyped up a ‘big announcement’ for Tuesday morning, but that turned out to be a music festival called ‘Gronk Beach’ that’s set for Feb. 1 in Miami. He spoke with ESPN on Tuesday and made an official statement about his future as an NFL player.

“I wouldn’t say ‘never coming back,'” Gronkowski said. “I’m 30 years old. I’m young. I still stay fit, still watch the game whenever I can, still enjoy it. I’m feeling good, but you know, one year off could possibly be the case. Or maybe two years off, man.

“It’s always an option in the back of my head. It’s not like I’m not staying in shape and not doing anything. I’m never stressed over it.”

Gronkowski has dealt with lingering injuries throughout his entire career and this is the first time that he’s let his body heal. He even partnered with a CBD company to endorse and help spread the message about receiving pain with this product.

He’s been paying attention to his former team that is currently 9-1 and No. 1 in the AFC.

“The defense is just tremendous, the way they’re coming together with the veteran leadership they have there, and the skill set they have,” Gronkowski said. “With the offense, they’re finding ways to make it work like they’ve always done, putting guys in the right situation to make plays. But man, they’re missing some guy who is 6-6, 260 [pounds]. They’re missing that guy, for sure.”

Most NFL fans are missing that guy, but Gronkowski sent a reminder that everyone should be appreciative of what he was able to do in his nine years.

“Many of them say they want to see me back on the field, but I take it more deeply to the heart when they tell me they appreciate the nine years with the team and they just want to see me happy and healthy,” Gronkowski said.

Rob Gronkowski shut down the possibility of a 2019 NFL return on Tuesday morning.

The former New England Patriots tight end previously said that he had a ‘big announcement’ to make on Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. ET. With a deadline to return to the team on Nov. 30, many people hoped for Gronkowski to announce that he was coming out of retirement.

That wasn’t the case. Gronkowski announced that he’ll be in Miami during Super Bowl LIV weekend for a music festival called ‘Gronk Beach’. The festival will take place on Saturday, Feb. 1 on Miami Beach.

This isn’t exactly the news that Patriots fans were hoping for, but it’s definitely not uncharacteristic of Gronkowski to hype up the event in this fashion. He hasn’t ruled out a return to the NFL in the future, but he’ll thoroughly enjoy his retirement for now.

Bill Belichick jokingly makes remark about Rob Gronkowski’s ‘big announcement’

Bill Belichick’s responses to the media lately have included plenty of humor.

Bill Belichick has been full of jokes lately. He likely took a shot at Lane Johnson in regards to his comment saying that the New England Patriots don’t have fun, and he made some comical remarks regarding Julian Edelman’s touchdown pass in Week 11.

The most recent comment that he made was in regards to Rob Gronkowski’s ‘big announcement’ that’s set for Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. ET.

Belichick was asked about the announcement on WEEI’s “Ordway, Merloni & Fauria”, and gave a hilarious answer.

“Yeah, I’m sure my phone will be ringing off the hook with all the alerts I have on it,” Belichick said jokingly. “I’m sure it will be crazy.”

Gronkowski retired from the NFL after last season and has sent mixed signals on whether or not he’d stay retired. It’s very likely that Gronkowski is going to announce a career move, and that he won’t make his comeback to the league.

If Gronkowski were to make a return, he’d have to report to the team before Nov. 30. Belichick and the Patriots will likely move on this season without Gronkowski on the field, but, there is a small window to hope for his NFL return.

Rob Gronkowski says he can relate to Myles Garrett’s helmet incident

“I kind of would call it like a blackout.”

Retired New England Patriots tight end and current FOX NFL analyst Rob Gronkowski knew what Myles Garrett was going through on Thursday night.

Garrett received an indefinite suspension for swinging a helmet at Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph’s head last week. The violent episode caused a brawl on Thursday Night Football in Week 11. While Garrett’s actions were unquestionably wrong and disgusting, the Cleveland Browns defensive end will begin to work to reclaim his good name — much like Gronkowski did.

Gronk was suspended one game for driving his forearm into the head of Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White, who went to the ground after an interception. Despite a whistle blowing the play dead, Gronk slammed White. Though it was an egregiously awful play, it was one of the few dirty plays from the tight end’s career.

“I’ve never seen something like this and it’s just not made for the game of football. It was ugly,” Gronkowski said Sunday on FOX. “You got to look at all the circumstances. I’ve had a similar situation happen to me like this before. I kind of would call it like a blackout, you just blackout on the field. It was when I was playing the Buffalo Bills and it was verses Tre’Davious White. I got held three times in the play, I was getting held throughout the whole season.

“That frustration finally came to me right there on the spot. He made the interception on the play, I got held about three times on that same play and I just got up and I was frustrated. Like, I just blacked out and I was furious. I was running after him like the play was still going on and I went down and the second I went down, the second I brought the elbow right to his neck, head area I said, ‘Oh no. What am I doing? This isn’t me.’ The follow-through went through, it happened. But I knew right at that second, it wasn’t me.”

There’s no excuse for what Gronk or Garrett did. But it’s certainly interesting to hear from players what they were thinking before they made terrible decisions.

The response all over the internet was that of condemnation. NFL players are paid millions of dollars to navigate a razor-thin line of controlled violence and blind rage. Garrett crossed that line. And yet Gronkowski said he felt he could relate to what happened to the young defensive end.

Rob Gronkowski explains how he dominated Bills during career

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski discusses playing the Buffalo Bills during his career.

Former Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is a Buffalo native, but was very much disliked around his hometown during his playing career.

A bit of a cheap shot on Tre’Davious White doesn’t help, neither did his complete domination of the Bills during his career. His numbers are ridiculous against Buffalo.

In 15 career games, Gronkowski had 69 career catches for 1,070 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Now retired, Gronk recently joined FOX Sports as an analyst. During his pregame analysis on Sunday ahead of Week 11’s 1 p.m. games, Gronkowski was talking about the Bills and specifically his playing career.

Gronkowski knows he dominated the Bills and said because they were his hometown team, that’s exactly what fueled him to do so.

“Every time I played the Buffalo Bills, I loved dominating them. I felt like I dominated them because I felt like a child going out there against the Bills. I grew up in Buffalo,” Gronkowski said.

“The more they try to hate me in Buffalo, the more I enjoyed playing there, That’s what made it so great, when you felt like that. When you have that mental edge, it’s like nothing can stop you and you’re unstoppable and invincible out there on the field,” Gronkowski added.

While Bills fans might not like hearing this, they should. It’s much better to hear than to see Gronk continue doing it, right?

Rob Gronkowski seems prepared to hit NFL fans with some misdirection on Tuesday. Everyone is waiting for his potential return to the NFL. New England Patriots fans are hoping he’ll come out of retirement by Saturday, Nov. 30, which will allow him to join his former team and Tom Brady for a potential playoff run.

So when Gronk went on Instagram on Sunday to tease a “big announcement” on Tuesday, the cryptic message seemed like it might be related to his retirement status. In all likelihood, it has nothing to do with catching passes from Brady. Gronk is partnered with a CBD company, and this appears to be another effort to promote that company. What tipped him off? Well, he’s wearing a hat with a cannabis leaf and a CBDMedic logo in the video where he teases his “wild” and “fun” announcement.

Gronk and CBDMedic are acutely aware of how much intrigue he draws when cryptically hinting at a potential return from retirement. They are probably leveraging that interest to draw attention to the brand.

Gronk announced his retirement this offseason, and has since revealed the significant physical issues he managed during his NFL career, which included concussions and pain-filled, sleepless nights. He has suggested on multiple occasions that he will not be returning to the NFL this year.

It’s probably not a comeback from retirement.

Former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski appears to be profiting off the chatter surrounding his potential return from retirement. Gronk appeared on Instagram on Sunday morning to say that he’s got a big announcement coming on Tuesday.

Sorry Patriots fans, it’s unlikely Gronkowski will be announcing his return to New England.

Considering Gronk was wearing a hat with a CBD logo, it’s far more likely Gronk is using the intrigue surrounding a potential return from retirement to help promote the company CBDMedic, where he’s partnering to help sell their products. The announcement Tuesday is likely related to his work with that company.

Gronk seems to be transitioning nicely into his new role as a salesman. This phrasing — “big announcement” — will certainly get people monitoring his social media accounts. If Gronk is to  come out of retirement and rejoin the Patriots, he has to report to the team before Saturday, Nov. 30.
