Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Red Sox vs. Orioles odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orioles lead 6-3

The Red Sox have won back-to-back games after taking down the Orioles 5-1 on Saturday and covering as +100 road underdogs. CF Jarren Duran and 3B Rafael Devers each had 2 RBIs while RHP Brayan Bello allowed 1 ER in 6 innings to pick up the win.

Baltimore, which won the Thursday opener of the 4-game series 5-1, lost Saturday as a -108 home favorite. SS Gunnar Henderson had the Orioles’ only RBI on a solo HR while LHP Cade Povich allowed 2 ER in 6 1/3 IP to take the loss.

Red Sox at Orioles projected starters

RHP Kutter Crawford vs. LHP Albert Suarez

Crawford (8-9, 4.21 ERA) makes his 25th start. He has a 1.11 WHIP, 2.3 BB/9 and 8.5 K/9 in 136 2/3 IP.

  • Last start: Win, 5 1/3 IP, 4 ER, 3 H, 1 BB, 4 K in 9-4 win against Texas Rangers Tuesday.

Season series: Orioles lead 6-2

The Orioles lost to the Red Sox 12-10 Friday in the 2nd game of the series but did win the 1st battle 5-1.

They have won 2 of their last 3 yet are 2-3 over their last 5. Baltimore won 1 of 2 in its series prior against the Washington Nationals. It has been strong for bettors and at home, respectively posting a 67-56 against the spread (ATS) record and a 36-27 record at home.

The Red Sox have won 3 of their last 5 games, scoring at least 7 runs in 3 of their last 4. Boston has struggled over the last 10 days, posting a 3-6 record. It sits 3rd in the AL East and is 35-25 on the road this season. The Red Sox are 55-66 ATS.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Red Sox at Orioles picks and predictions

Prediction

Red Sox 6, Orioles 4

Moneyline

BET RED SOX (+108).

Simply put, while Bello hasn’t been incredible, he is the most reliable option. Povich hasn’t pitched in over 2 weeks and could have some rust having been out of the rotation.

The Red Sox have won Bello’s last 4 starts as well as having been one of the league’s best road teams this season. They are 33-30 following a win and 31-26 straight up as an underdog.

Considering those trends, back RED SOX (+108).

Run line/Against the spread

PASS.

The Orioles, as a run-lien underdog, are far too expensive and almost double your money to the potential return. That isn’t worth the price. The Red Sox, given the Orioles home strength, are too risky as a run-line favorite.

Over/Under

BET OVER 9 (-102).

The Red Sox have been on a tear as of late, scoring at least 5 runs in 4 of their last 5 games. They are 11-2-1 O/U in their last 14 games and are 64-50-7 O/U on the season.

The Orioles have been on a similar tear, going 10-5 O/U in their last 15. They have scored at least 4 runs in 3 straight games. Baltimore is 68-45-10 O/U on the season.

With those trends in mind, back OVER 9 (-102).

Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Boston Red Sox (63-57) and Baltimore Orioles (72-50) play the 2nd game of a 4-game set at Camden Yards Friday at 8:05 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Red Sox vs. Orioles odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orioles lead 6-1

The Red Sox dropped the 1st game of the series Thursday night 5-1. They scored a solo run on 7 hits and fanned 10 times. Things don’t get any easier Friday with RHP Corbin Burnes on the mound. The Red Sox have lost 6 of 8.

The O’s have won 4 of 6 and allowed 3 runs or fewer in 4 of those 6. SS Gunnar Henderson parked his 31st homer of the year Thursday. The Orioles are tied atop the AL East with the New York Yankees.

Red Sox at Orioles projected starters

RHP Cooper Criswell vs. RHP Corbin Burnes

Criswell (4-4, 4.02 ERA) makes his 14th start (19th appearance) of the season. He has a 1.24 WHIP, 2.1 BB/9 and 7.0 K/9 in 71 2/3 innings.

  • Last start: Win, 7 IP, 0 ER, 6 H, 1 BB, 4 K in 6-0 victory at Colorado Rockies July 23
  • One career start against O’s: Loss, 4 IP, 7 ER, 7 H, 1 BB, 2 K in 11-3 road defeat May 27

Burnes (12-4, 2.71 ERA) makes his 25th start of the season. He has a 1.05 WHIP, 2.1 BB/9 and 8.2 K/9 in 149 2/3 innings.

  • Last start: No-decision, 6 IP, 3 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 5 K in 7-5 victory Saturday at Tampa Bay Rays
  • Career vs. Red Sox: 2-0, 1.42 ERA (19 IP, 3 ER), 0.95 WHIP, 16 K in 3 starts

Who’s going yard? Here’s a breakdown of today’s best home run props with our top picks. Include the BetMGM bonus code SBWIRE to score a $1,500 first-bet offer.

Red Sox at Orioles odds

  • Moneyline (ML): Red Sox +150 (bet $100 to win $150) | Orioles -185 (bet $185 to win $100)
  • Run line (RL)/Against the spread (ATS): Red Sox +1.5 (+140) | Orioles -1.5 (+115)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 8.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Red Sox at Orioles picks and predictions

Prediction

Orioles 5, Red Sox 2

Moneyline

The O’s are big-time favorites, and they should be. We’re not going to squeeze this much juice for their ML, though.

PASS.

Run line/Against the spread

The O’s have won 6 of the last 9 matchups against the Red Sox, and all of those have been by multiple runs. Each of their last 11 wins have been by multiple runs. This team is much like the Los Angeles Dodgers were last season where you can’t play them on the ML, but their RL is money.

Take the ORIOLES -1.5 (+115).

Over/Under

It’s slated to be 84 degrees with an 11-mph wind blowing out toward left-center. I don’t trust the Red Sox to score enough runs to cash an Over. Burnes has made 2 starts against them this year and allowed a grand total of 1 ER over 14 IP.

Take the UNDER 8.5 (-105).

Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Red Sox vs. Orioles odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orioles lead 5-1

The Red Sox are coming off a 2-1 series win against the visiting Texas Rangers. Boston lost 9-7 as a -129 favorite in the Wednesday finale as the Over (9.5) hit. The Red Sox are 3rd in the AL East, 7½ games back of the division-leading New York Yankees, and 2 games out of the final AL Wild Card spot.

The Orioles spilt a 2-game set with the Washington Nationals in Baltimore, wrapping up the series with a 4-1 win as -168 favorites Wednesday with the Under (9) cashing. Pivetta (5-7, 4.44 ERA) makes his 19th start. He has a 1.14 WHIP, 2.2 BB/9 and 11.0 K/9 in 95 1/3 IP.

  • Last start: No-decision, 4 2/3 IP, 2 ER, 2 H, 1 BB, 5 K in 7-2 victory at Rangers Aug. 4
  • Skipped start over weekend due to arm fatigue
  • 2024 road stats: 3-3, 3.76 ERA (52 2/3 IP, 22 ER), 1.03 WHIP, 10.3 K/9 in 10 starts
  • Career vs. Orioles: 8-2, 3.18 ERA (68 IP, 24 ER), 1.10 WHIP, 11.0 K/9 in 12 starts, including 1-0 with 0.00 ERA (7 IP) in 1 start last year

Eflin (8-7, 3.83 ERA) makes his 23rd start. He has a 1.15 WHIP, MLB-leading 1.0 BB/9, and 7.2 K/9 in 129 1/3 IP with the Orioles and Tampa Bay Rays.

  • Last start: Win, 7 IP, 0 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 7 K in 4-1 victory at Rays Friday
  • 2024 home stats: 4-2, 2.52 ERA (50 IP, 14 ER), 1.04 WHIP, 7.2 K/9 in 8 starts

Red Sox at Orioles picks and predictions

Prediction

Orioles 5, Red Sox 4

Moneyline

The ORIOLES (-135) have won 5 of the 6 meetings between these teams this season, and the Red Sox have lost 3 of Pivetta’s last 5 starts. Pivetta has allowed 13 runs in 14 innings over his last 3 outings and given up 6 or more hits in 3 of his last 5 starts.

Neither team has been winning at a high clip recently — Boston is 5-5 in its last 10 and Baltimore is 6-4 — but the Orioles should have the edge in this spot with how inconsistent Pivetta has been this season.

BET ORIOLES (-135).

Run line/Against the spread

Boston +1.5 (-190) likely hits Thursday, but there’s too much vig in this line to recommend a play.

PASS. Bet the ML and/or total instead.

Over/Under

Baltimore is the best Over bet in MLB this season, hitting Overs at a 68-44-9 (60.7%) clip. Boston is 16-7-4 (69.6%) to the Over in divisional games, and the Over has hit in 3 straight contests when Pivetta takes the mound.

BET OVER 8.5 (-110).

Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Boston Red Sox (28-27) and Baltimore Orioles (34-19) wrap up a 3-game series Wednesday. First pitch from Oriole Park at Camden Yards is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Red Sox vs. Orioles odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orioles lead 4-1

Boston was finally victorious over Baltimore in 2024, cashing as a (+158) road underdog in an 8-3 win Tuesday. Red Sox 3B Rafael Devers went 4 for 5 with a triple and 2 RBIs and is now tied with Jim Rice for the most extra-base hits before turning 28 in franchise history.

Despite a season-high 10 K’s, RHP Grayson Rodriguez took the loss as the 24-year-old was credited with 4 earned runs on 7 hits. Baltimore scored all 3 of its runs in the 1st inning as OF Colton Cowser drove in SS Gunnar Henderson, followed by a 2-run single from 3B Jordan Westburg.

Red Sox at Orioles projected starters

RHP Kutter Crawford vs. RHP Corbin Burnes

Crawford (2-3, 2.89 ERA) makes his 12th start. He has a 1.20 WHIP, 2.9 BB/9 and 8.8 K/9 in 62 1/3 IP.

  • Last start: Loss, 4 1/3 IP, 6 ER, 7 H, 2 BB, 4 K in 7-2 home setback vs. Milwaukee Brewers Friday
  • 2024 vs. Orioles: 0-0, 0.00 ERA (5 IP), 2 H, 4 BB, 6 K in 1 start, a 7-5 home loss April 10

Burnes (4-2, 2.60 ERA) makes his 12th start. He has a 1.07 WHIP, 2.3 BB/9 and 9.1 K/9 in 65 2/3 IP.

  • Last start: No-decision, 6 IP, 3 ER, 7 H, 2 BB, 6 K in 6-4 win at Chicago White Sox Friday
  • 2024 vs. Red Sox: 1-0, 1.29 ERA (7 IP, 1 ER), 2 H, 2 BB, 6 K in 1 start, a 7-1 road victory April 9

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Red Sox at Orioles picks and predictions

Prediction

Baltimore 6, Boston 4

Moneyline

INCLUDE ORIOLES (-190) IN A MONEYLINE PARLAY.

If you are an Orioles fan, this suggestion may sting, as Baltimore needs the New York Yankees to lose if it wants to climb back into 1st place in the AL East. However, the Yankees are in an advantageous spot against the last-place Los Angeles Angels, and their starter RHP Luis Gil has allowed only 2 ER in his last 30+ IP in May. Pairing the Yankees (-205 at Angels, 9:38 p.m. ET) with the Orioles (-190) pays out +127.

Run line/Against the spread

BET ORIOLES -1.5 (+112).

Entering this season, Burnes threw his cutter more than any other starter. Nonetheless, the 2nd-favorite to win the AL Cy Young (+450 at FanDuel Sportsbook) — behind only Detroit LHP Tarik Skubal (+270) — was able to induce 16 of 19 whiffs in his last start on non-cutters.

Meanwhile, Crawford’s 6 runs surrendered in his last start was a season high, and no team hits righties harder (34.1 hard hit %) than Baltimore. Tough to envision a scenario where the 28-year-old gets back on track in his 2nd start this year against this talented O’s lineup.

Over/Under

PASS.

The score prediction would indicate a heavy lean to the Over; however, with Burnes on the mound, I’ll pass.

The Boston Red Sox (27-26) and Baltimore Orioles (33-18) open a 3-game series Monday. First pitch from Oriole Park at Camden Yards is set for 1:05 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Red Sox vs. Orioles odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orioles lead 3-0

Boston came away with a 2-1 win Sunday as a -138 home favorite vs. the Milwaukee Brewers. LF Jarren Duran hit the go-ahead RBI single in the bottom of the 8th inning as the Red Sox salvaged a 3-game series after dropping the first 2 games.

Baltimore won 4-1 at the Chicago White Sox Sunday, covering as a -160 favorite. RHP Kyle Bradish tossed 7 innings of no-hit ball before the bullpen took over and yielded 1 run on 1 hit. Bradish finished with 11 K’s as the Orioles completed a 4-game sweep of the White Sox — a nice rebound after losing 3 straight at the St. Louis Cardinals midweek.

Red Sox at Orioles projected starters

RHP Cooper Criswell vs. LHP Cole Irvin

Criswell (2-1, 2.86 ERA) makes his 8th start. He has a 1.13 WHIP, 2.1 BB/9 and 8.8 K/9 through 34 2/3 innings.

  • Last start: No-decision, 5 1/3 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 1 BB, 6 K in 5-2 win at Tampa Bay Rays Tuesday
  • First career start vs. Orioles

Irvin (4-2, 3.15 ERA) makes his 8th start and 10th appearance. He has a 1.09 WHIP, 1.6 BB/9 and 5.9 K/9 through 45 2/3 innings.

Red Sox at Orioles picks and predictions

Prediction

Orioles 7, Red Sox 3

Moneyline

PASS.

The Orioles (-165) should win here, but the juice is not worth the risk of backing, especially with the Red Sox winning their last 4 games. Bet on the spread and/or total instead.

Run line/Against the spread

BET ORIOLES -1.5 (+125).

Baltimore is 7-3 in its last 10 matchups vs. Boston. In the 7 wins, the Orioles have won by at least 2 runs 6 times, including in each of their last 2 victories in Baltimore.

The Orioles are 28-23 ATS this season, while the Red Sox are only 23-30 ATS, according to Teamrankings.com.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 9 (+100).

The Over has hit in 2 of Baltimore’s last 3 home games and is 6-2-2 in its last 10 overall. For Boston, the Over is 4-2 in its last 6 road games. The Over has also hit in each of the last 2 Boston-Baltimore matchups.

This is only a lean because the Over and Under have been very even in recent matchups between these squads at 5-4-1 O/U.

Baltimore Orioles at Boston Red Sox odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Baltimore Orioles at Boston Red Sox odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Baltimore Orioles (6-4) take on the Boston Red Sox (7-4) Wednesday night at Fenway Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET.  Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Orioles vs. Red Sox odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orioles lead 1-0

Baltimore downed the Red Sox 7-1 in Boston’s home opener Tuesday afternoon, cashing as a (-121) moneyline favorite. LF Colton Cowser hit 2 doubles and drove in 4, while RHP Corbin Burnes tossed 6 innings of 1-run ball, striking out 6 in the win.

Boston’s lone run came by way of the long ball as RF Tyler O’Neill blasted his league-leading 6th HR of the season in the 6th inning. RHP Brayan Bello, who had a 6.94 ERA in 10 day-game starts in 2023, surrendered only 1 ER in 5 1/3 IP.

Orioles at Red Sox projected starters

LHP Cole Irvin vs. RHP Kutter Crawford

Irvin (0-1, 7.20 ERA) makes his 2nd start. He allowed 4 ER on 7 H and 2 BB with 3 K in 5 innings in his debut vs. the Kansas City Royals April 2.

  • His curveball looked impressive out the gate in his debut; however, he took the loss after allowing runs in the 2nd and 4th innings
  • Was better on the road than at home last season; sported a 3.79 away ERA in 38 IP compared to a 5.03 ERA at Camden Yards

Crawford (0-0, 0.84 ERA) makes his 3rd start. He has a 0.84 WHIP, 3.38 BB/9 and 10.13 K/9 in 10 2/3 innings.

  • Took the no-decision in Boston’s win at Los Angeles Angels Friday; lost the strike zone in the 5th inning and was pulled after 90 pitches
  • Was stronger on the road than at home in 2023; he sported a 6.00 ERA in 57 IP at Fenway Park compared to a 2.49 ERA in 72 1/3 IP away from Boston

Orioles at Red Sox picks and predictions

Prediction

Orioles 4, Red Sox 3

Moneyline

BET ORIOLES (-106).

The already strong and youthful O’s offense will receive some more juice as MLB’s top prospect INF Jackson Holliday has been called up. Expect the heart of Baltimore’s lineup, including RF Anthony Santander who is tied for the AL lead in RBIs (11), to produce enough runs to help the Orioles eek out a 2nd straight victory over the Red Sox.

Run line/Against the spread

INCLUDE RED SOX +1.5 (-194) IN A PARLAY.

Too juicy for me, but pairing the RED SOX +1.5 (-194) with the NEW YORK YANKEES (-215) at home against the lowly Miami Marlins pays out a much more enticing +122.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 9 (-110).

Entering Wednesday, no team in the AL has swung at more pitches outside the strike zone (31.0 O-Swing %) than Baltimore, so Crawford could get some help if his location falters once again.

Boston has the 4th-lowest contact percentage (74.2%) in all of MLB, plus the fewest doubles hit, and O’Neill seems to be the only real power threat at the moment.

I’m not expecting either offense to explode, especially since both teams are top 5 in the AL in bullpen ERA.

Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Boston Red Sox (76-82) and Baltimore Orioles (99-59) open a 4-game series Thursday. First pitch from Oriole Park at Camden Yards is slated for 6:35 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Red Sox vs. Orioles odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orioles lead 5-4

The Red Sox are limping to the finish line of the season, losing 16 of their last 20 games. They have been outscored 61-35 over their last 12 games. Boston is 37-40 on the season away from Fenway Park.

Baltimore comes home to Charm City with a chance to win the AL East for the first time since 2014 in front of the home crowd. The Orioles have won 4 straight games heading into this last series of the season against their division rivals.

Red Sox at Orioles projected starters

LHP Chris Sale vs. RHP Dean Kremer

Sale (6-4, 4.42 ERA) makes his 20th start. He has a 1.15 WHIP, 2.6 BB/9 and 11.3 K/9 in 97 2/3 innings.

  • Last start: No-decision, 5 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 1 BB, 7 K in 3-2 home victory vs. Chicago White Sox Friday
  • 2023 vs. Orioles: 0-2, 12 IP, 18 ER, 22 H, 5 BB, 11 K in 3 starts, most recently allowing 7 R (6 ER) on 6 H and 2 BB with K over 4 IP in a 13-12 home loss Sept. 9
  • 2023 road stats: 5-3, 4.47 ERA (52 1/3 IP, 26 ER), .235 opponent batting average (OBA) in 10 games

Kremer (12-5, 4.25 ERA) will make his 32nd. He has a 1.33 WHIP, 2.9 BB/9 and 8.0 K/9 in 167 1/3 innings.

  • Last start: No-decision, 3 1/3 IP, 6 R (3 ER), 7 H, 2 BB, 3 K in 9-8 road loss vs. Cleveland Indians Friday

  • 2023 home stats: 7-2, 4.62 ERA (97 1/3 IP, 50 ER), .247 OBA in 18 starts

Red Sox at Orioles picks and predictions

Prediction

Orioles 6, Red Sox 4

Moneyline

BET THE ORIOLES (-140).

This is what the Orioles have been waiting for a long time — Thursday night they have a chance to win 100 games and win the AL East for the first time since 2014 — and they can also do it in front of their home crowd. It will be a special night at Camden Yards, especially for those Baltimore fans who have been waiting for this “rebuild” to take shape.

Run line/Against the spread

PASS.

Keep your bet to the moneyline and total, I really do not like these odds for either team. Just stay away.

Over/Under

BET OVER 7.5 (-115).

I love this bet so much that it might be worth 2 units in my eyes. This number is entirely too low. All 9 meetings between these two teams have gone over this total and most of the time it was not even close.

In Sale’s 3 outings against the Orioles this season, he has allowed 6, 5 and 7 earned runs. Kremer has allowed at least 4 earned runs in his 2 starts against Boston this season.

The Boston Red Sox (12-12) and Baltimore Orioles (15-7) continue their 3-game AL East series Tuesday. First pitch from Oriole Park at Camden Yards is slated for 6:35 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around  the Red Sox vs. Orioles odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Tied 2-2

Boston hit a pair of HRs, but lost Monday’s opener 5-4. The Red Sox have hit 7 round-trippers in their last 3 games and 10 in their last 5.

The Orioles have won 7 in a row overall and 5 straight at home. Over the 7 consecutive victories, Baltimore pitching has compiled a tidy 1.55 ERA, 0.94 WHIP.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Red Sox at Orioles projected starters

RHP Corey Kluber vs. RHP Kyle Bradish

Kluber (0-4, 8.50 ERA) makes his 5th start. He has a 1.50 WHIP, 4.0 BB/9 and 8.5 K/9 in 18 IP.

  • Allowed 7 R in his last start; has yielded 11 R in his last 9 2/3 IP
  • Figures to see a lot of lefty bats in the Orioles lineup, and left-handed batters logged a .752 OPS against him a year ago (1.130 OPS so far in 2023)
  • Current Baltimore batters own an aggregate .860 OPS against him

Bradish (1-0, 0.00 ERA) is tabbed for his 3rd start. He has registered a 1.04 WHIP, 2.4 BB/9 and 9.4 K/9 in 7 2/3 IP.

  • Making his 2nd start off the IL (right foot)
  • Had 7.54 ERA in 5 starts against Boston last year; Orioles lost 4 of them

Over/Under

There is some Under pressure from most sectors of this pitching match-up. Neither offense has analytics to support run-scoring levels. Baltimore, for example, has a .364 batting average on balls in play in high-leverage situations.

The back ends of both bullpens are in decent shape.

TAKE THE UNDER 8.5 (-115).
