WATCH: Tre Brown’s game-winning interception for Oklahoma against Texas

Tre Brown’s game-winning interception to lift Oklahoma over Texas in the fourth overtime of the Red River Showdown.

One of the most incredible Red River Showdowns ended with a bang, as Oklahoma’s Tre Brown intercepted Sam Ehlinger in the fourth overtime to end the game and give the Sooners the 53-45 win.

This was one of the most incredible OU-Texas battles of all time, and will be an early candidate for a game of the year in college football.

The teams traded touchdowns, and missed kicks, in the first three overtimes before Spencer Rattler found Drake Stoops for a touchdown in the fourth OT.

Theo Wease then hauled in the 2-point conversion to make it 53-45.

But the Longhorns were unable to respond again, as Brown iced the game with this INT.

Watch it here.

Spencer Rattler back in as Oklahoma’s starting QB against Texas

Oklahoma redshirt freshman quarterback Spencer Rattler has returned to the game after leaving in the second quarter.

After being taken out of the game in the middle of the second quarter in favor of Tanner Mordecai, Oklahoma redshirt freshman quarterback Spencer Rattler is back in the game to open the second half.

When Rattler came out, it appeared he was getting some work done on his right arm in the bicep/shoulder area.

But, Lincoln Riley told FOX Sports’ Jenny Taft that he was not injured and that he just wanted to get Mordecai “involved.”

Rattler had turned the ball over twice before being removed from the game.

In Rattler’s first drive back, albeit on a short field, the Sooners punched in a touchdown to take a 24-17 lead early in the third quarter.

WATCH: Oklahoma blocks punt in OU-Texas Game

A huge punt block by Oklahoma to set themselves up with an opportunity to take the lead against Texas in the middle of the second quarter.

The Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns are mixed up in a wild Red River Showdown at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.

There have been turnovers all over the place, and huge mistakes made by both teams.

Surpisingly, so far the Sooner defense and special teams has come up big for Oklahoma – highlighted by a huge blocked punt by David Ugwoegbu to set the offense up in the redzone.

Ugwoegbu is a sophomore from Katy, Texas and has been a guy we heard a lot of good things about in the weeks leading up to the season.

Oklahoma would go on to punch it in on a Marcus Major touchdown run to go ahead 17-10 in the middle of the second quarter.

Entire ESPN College GameDay crew picked Texas to beat Oklahoma

ESPN’s College Gameday crew made their OU-Texas picks this morning, and they were all in agreement on the Longhorns getting it done.

Oklahoma may be the slight betting favorites this week, but many national outlets have picked the Longhorns to win this week.

That is especially true for the ESPN College Gameday who unanimously selected Texas to defeat the Sooners today.

Desmond Howard, David Pollack, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, and even guest picker Alex Rodriguez took the burnt orange to get the job done.

Many cited Sam Ehlinger’s will to win in his final OU-Texas matchup, and the continued struggles of the Oklahoma defense.

Herbstreit went on to joke as they transitioned to the next game that a screen shot showcasing the crew’s Texas picks would be everywhere if Oklahoma won the game.

There is no doubt about that, in fact it’s already started…

When, where, how to watch, how to stream Oklahoma take on Texas

Everything you need to know about how to watch the Oklahoma Sooners take on the Texas Longhorns.

The Oklahoma Sooners are stunningly sitting on a two-game losing skid, and are desperate to avoid that becoming a trifecta of losses in as many weeks.

Awaiting them Saturday morning is long-time rival Texas, who is coming off of a discouraging loss of their own to the TCU Horned Frogs a week ago.

Since Lincoln Riley and Tom Herman took over at their respective programs, these two teams have hooked up four times in the last three years of with Riley and the Sooners winning three of those matchups.

The lone Herman win came in the 2018 Red River Showdown, when Cameron Dicker’s late field goal lifted the Longhorns past Kyler Murray and the Sooners 48-45.

Murray and Oklahoma would go on to get their revenge later on that season in the Big 12 Championship game.

For this year’s installment of the historic rivalry, here is everything you need to know:

State of Texas and Oklahoma take shots at each other using highway signs

The Department of Transportation put up messages supporting their teams in Oklahoma and Texas. It seems everyone is getting involved.

The game on Saturday is an annual build up. Each and every year, following the game and leading up to the next is all about the trash talk. Current players and former players alike get into the act. Part of what makes the game so much better is how each fanbase and team have a pure unadulterated hatred for one another.

Despite the other games listed on the schedule, this is the one that means the most. Oklahoma State has their annual rivalry game with the Sooners called Bedlam. It is a huge game for them but pales in comparison to the border war between Texas and Oklahoma. It is very reminsicant to the former Lone Star Rivalry with Texas A&M. This game is THE rivalry for both schools.

This goes far beyond just the two schools. It is stretches to state pride. Even the Department of Transportation chime in with their signs on the road.

Whether you are on the side of Texas or Oklahoma, buckle up because this is about to be a bumpy ride. Let’s all hope it is the team wearing white that once again reigns supreme.

Texas remains field goal underdog to Oklahoma per BetMGM

Texas will travel to Dallas for the annual Red River Shootout with its season on the line. Here are the opening betting lines per BetMGM.

Texas will travel to Dallas for the annual Red River Shootout with its season on the line. The Longhorns lost at home to TCU on Saturday and will need to beat Oklahoma to keep the season afloat.

Oddly enough, the Sooners are in a similar position. Lincoln Riley dropped his opening two conference games for the first time in his career. This Texas-Oklahoma matchup will be unfamiliar territory for both teams.

Losing last season’s matchup, Tom Herman will be looking to get his second rivalry win in four seasons. If he does, the Longhorns’ will still have an opportunity to push towards their goal of a Big 12 championship.

Opening lines for the game per BetMGM

Line: Oklahoma (-2.5)

Over/Under: 72.5

After the TCU loss, Texas is 1-2 against the spread this season. The Longhorns have failed to cover in both Big 12 matchups after being favored by 17.5 against Texas Tech and 12.5 against TCU.

Texas leads series history historically over Oklahoma, not in most recent years

A recap by the numbers of the historic series between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns.

Oklahoma and Texas collide for the 116th time on Saturday in what is widely regarded as one of the premier rivalries in all of college football.

Despite Oklahoma having a bit more historical success than Texas in terms of national championships, conference titles, and Heisman winners, the Longhorns hold the all-time series lead over the Sooners by a count of 62-48-5.

Texas is the only team in the Big 12 to hold an all-time series edge over Oklahoma. However, the Sooners do hold the advantage in the more modern history of this rivalry.

Since 1971, OU leads the series 27-20-3 and in the Big 12 era they lead 15-10. Even more recently, eight of the last 11 Red River Showdowns have gone the way of the Crimson and Cream.

The last Texas win came in 2018’s regular season contest – although the Sooners would get revenge later on in that season in the Big 12 title game.

Oklahoma also holds the largest win in the series from the 2003 tilt where they obliterated the Longhorns by a score of 65-13.

But, while the largest margin of victory belongs to the Sooners, the longest win streak in the rivalry belongs to Texas when they won eight straight meetings from 1940-1947.

Since 2014, every game has been decided by 12 points or less, with the only game being more than one possession coming in the 2018 Big 12 Championship game referenced earlier.

The next installment in this historic rivalry will take place Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. CT at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.
