Here are the details of the Chiefs’ DeAndre Hopkins trade

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, these are the full details of the #Chiefs’ trade for DeAndre Hopkins

The details of the Kansas City Chiefs trade for Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins have finally emerged.

The Chiefs have fallen victim to two unfortunate injuries to wide receivers Rashee Rice and Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown this season and were in desperate need of help.

After a trade for Hopkins was announced in the early hours of Wednesday morning, much was unknown about the Titans’ return for the veteran until Wednesday afternoon.

Though neither team has officially announced the deal, the details of the seemingly-agreed-upon terms were reported by NFL insider Ian Rapaport on Twitter.

Take a look at the full trade terms:

Kansas City has been looking for a replacement for their two-star receivers all season and a fourth or fifth-round pick seems like a bargain for a player who has earned All-Pro honors three times in his career.

It is still unknown if Hopkins will suit up for Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders, but look for the dynamic receiver to have an immediate impact for the Chiefs when he is back in action.

Trey Smith addresses media after Chiefs’ Week 7 win vs. 49ers

Check out what #Chiefs OL Trey Smith had to say to NFL reporter Darren Smith after Kansas City’s Week 7 win over the San Francisco #49ers.

Kansas City Chiefs guard Trey Smith is a versatile offensive lineman with a critical role in Andy Ried’s offensive scheme.

He played a critical role in helping the Chiefs’ running backs in Kansas City’s Week 7 win over the San Francisco 49ers and is among the team’s most indispensable offensive talents.

After Sunday’s victory over San Fransisco Trey Smith spoke to veteran NFL reporter Darren Smith in the Chiefs’ locker room to share his thoughts on Kansas City’s latest win.

Check out the full video of the lineman’s comments, which was posted to Twitter by Darren Smith on Sunday evening:

Though Smith doesn’t always get the recognition he deserves as an offensive lineman, his efforts will prove to be crucial for the Chiefs’ hopes of winning a third consecutive Super Bowl title after injuries have decimated Kansas City’s depth at the wide receiver positon.

The Kansas City Chiefs are fresh off a bye in Week 6 and are headed to California to face the San Francisco 49ers in a Super Bowl LVIII rematch this weekend.

Despite the 49ers’ loss of superstar running back Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco remains one of the better teams in the NFL and could be the team to hand the Chiefs their first loss of the season.

Andy Reid: Veteran WR, Travis Kelce ‘do similar things’ in Chiefs’ offense

Andy Reid detailed JuJu Smith-Schuster’s role in the #Chiefs’ offense during his comments to the media this week. | @EdEastonJr

The injuries to wide receivers ‘Hollywood’ Brown and Rashee Rice have forced immediate adjustments for the Kansas City Chiefs offense. Shifting roles, with rookies like Xavier Worthy playing more prominent roles at this point in the season, is essential in making another run to a Super Bowl.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke to the media on Wednesday and addressed the role of wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster moving forward.

“The guy opposite [Travis] Kelce, [it] ends up being very important that they know how to play the game and can kind of do similar things that Kelce can do,” Reid explained. “If you can get that, you’ve got something going offensively that way.”

Smith-Schuster is more than familiar with the role after his successful season in Kansas City in 2022. He showed his value already in his second tenure with a highlight reel-worthy game in Week 5, finishing with seven catches for 130 yards.

“So he (Smith-Schuster) did that before, (Byron) Pringle did that beforehand. We’ve had guys in those spots that could do that,” Reid said. “So that’s a positive thing. Anyways, JuJu (Smith-Schuster) is good with it, and there are similar things. They’re doing similar things.”

Rice thrived in this role last season and at the beginning of this year before his injury. Smith-Schuster’s experience and skill set make him a valuable veteran in the wide receivers room.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid provides the latest update on Rashee Rice after knee surgery

Kansas City #Chiefs head coach Andy Reid provides the latest update on Rashee Rice after knee surgery | @EdEastonJr

The Kansas City Chiefs are moving forward this season without their top wide receiver. Rashee Rice’s injury has taken him out of the lineup for the foreseeable future, forcing changes within the team’s game plan.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid addressed reporters on Monday via Zoom about Rice’s status following his surgery and the process he will take to recover.

“Rashee (Rice), his surgery was not his ACL. It was the Posterolateral corner (PLC). There was damage there. It’s probably the same result,” said Reid. “you get time-wise for an ACL, it takes a while for that to come back, and he’ll get into his rehab and get rolling on that as we go here. So, but that’s what it was.”

An update on the second-year standout was revealed shortly before the Chiefs’ Monday night game against the New Orleans Saints, which showed that Rice’s knee injury wasn’t as severe as initially thought. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Kansas City wide receiver won’t play again this season after having successful surgery last Tuesday.

Chiefs legend reflects on meeting Xavier Worthy in college: ‘He’s a very mature kid’

Kansas City #Chiefs legend Jamaal Charles reflects on meeting Xavier Worthy in college: ‘He’s a very mature kid’ | @EdEastonJr

The Kansas City Chiefs are off to an impressive undefeated 5-0 start to the season as they enjoy a bye week. The veterans and younger players have performed well, including their first-round pick this season.

Chiefs running back legend Jamaal Charles recently sat down for an interview with DJ Siddiqi of RG.org. He revealed his friendship with fellow Texas Longhorns alum Xavier Worthy and explained why the 21-year-old wide receiver is on his way to a successful career in the NFL.

“I’ve known Xavier (Worthy) since he was a freshman in college,” said Charles. “I always ran into him, always motivating him, always talking to him. He’s a great kid; he’s a very mature kid. I feel like when you start getting paid in college and NIL, you have to be mature because there’s a lot of people coming at you at an early age. I think he’s a good kid, and if he can keep his head straight and keep playing the way he’s playing on and off the field, I think he’s going to set himself up for a great career.”

Worthy has 12 catches for 179 yards, a touchdown as a receiver, six carries for 42 yards, and two touchdowns in the running game through five games. He has looked comfortable with the increased volume of targets and, game starts with the early injuries to ‘Hollywood’ Brown and Rashee Rice.

Chiefs JuJu Smith-Schuster discusses leadership: ‘Trying to build that relationship’

Kansas City #Chiefs JuJu Smith-Schuster discusses leadership: ‘Trying to build that relationship’ | @EdEastonJr

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster addressed his role in the locker room for the team during his postgame press conference on Monday night.

“I love it, it’s great. There’s no better feeling than knowing these guys are looking up to you and being a role model,” said Smith-Schuster. “Every day, I set the standard and try to help them out in any way I can – not just on the field but off the field. Doing stuff that keeps them happy, hanging out with them, just trying to build that relationship.”

Smith-Schuster finished Monday’s victory over the New Orleans Saints with seven catches for 130 yards. He led the team receiving that week, but he made sure to share some appreciation for teammate Justin Watson.

“Not necessarily. Another person I would love to give the spotlight to that you guys don’t understand is Justin Watson,” said Smith-Schuster. “He’s another great dude who has been here for quite some time. When I got here, he was the guy who I was leaning on the most. Coming back, obviously I’m familiar with the plays, but seeing new faces and seeing a guy like him – he’s a great leader. Don’t give it up to me; he is a guy who helps out a lot.”

The Chiefs expect to be without Rashee Rice due to a knee injury, making the re-signing of Smith-Schuster much more valuable for the postseason push.

Report: Chiefs WR Rashee Rice to miss the rest of the season after successful knee surgery

Report: Kansas City #Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice to miss the rest of the season after successful knee surgery | @EdEastonJr

The Kansas City Chiefs are ready for life without their top receiver, as Rashee Rice’s injury will change their offense for the foreseeable future.

It was revealed late Monday night that Rice’s knee injury wasn’t as severe as initially thought. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Kansas City wide receiver won’t likely play again this season.

Rice underwent the needed surgery on Tuesday, and it was confirmed that his LCL was the only ligament that needed to be repaired, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. He is expected to make a full recovery.

The initial belief was that Rice had a torn ACL or MCL, but he seemingly avoided significant career-threatening injury, making a return next season without delay a reasonable scenario. The Chiefs are featuring multiple receivers in his place, and there are rumors that the team is potentially seeking a player by the trade deadline.

The second-year standout was placed on injured reserve after injuring the knee during the first quarter of Kansas City’s Week 4 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. He led the team with 24 receptions for 288 yards and two touchdowns before the injury.

Chiefs vs. Saints Week 5: How to watch, listen and stream

Check out everything you need to know to tune into the #Chiefs’ Week 5 matchup against the #Saints on “Monday Night Football”

The Kansas City Chiefs return to Arrowhead this week to face the New Orleans Saints on “Monday Night Football.”

Rashee Rice’s injury in Week 4 remains the biggest storyline for Kansas City heading into the Chiefs’ matchup against New Orleans.

With Rice out, other members of Kansas City’s receiving corps, especially rookie wideout Xavier Worthy, will have to step up to fill the void for Patrick Mahomes in the passing game.

Despite their 2-2 record, the Saints, led by former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr, look like one of the NFC’s most explosive teams. Former Chiefs defensive back Tyrann Mathieu will be patrolling New Orleans’ secondary, and Kansas City will need to be aware of his presence on passing plays.

Expect running back Kareem Hunt to see lots of action on Monday night as the Chiefs look to remain undefeated.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes reflects on Rashee Rice’s injury: ‘I was the one that hit him’

Kansas City #Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes reflects on Rashee Rice’s injury: ‘I was the one that hit him’ | @EdEastonJr

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes holds his teammates to high standards and respects their contributions to victories. He takes it hard when a teammate gets injured, especially if he accidentally becomes involved in the situation.

Mahomes spoke with reporters on Thursday about his thoughts on Rashee Rice’s injury following an interception in last Sunday’s game. The Pro Bowl quarterback accidentally hit his teammate’s knee while trying to make a tackle.

“I didn’t notice it at the moment; I was more worried about trying to get the ball, but obviously, I was just trying to make a play, and it happens whenever you’re trying to make tackles.”

After the injury in Los Angeles, Rice was carted off the field and immediately ruled out the rest of the game.

“When I saw the replay, I felt like sh** that I hit Rashee; I think that’s pretty much all I mean; I wasn’t worried about myself,” said Mahomes. “I was worried about, hopefully, his injury and hoping it wasn’t as bad as it looked because I was the one that hit him.”

Mahomes will miss Rice’s production for however long he’s out of the lineup, but he has faith in the team’s coaching staff and depth at wide receiver.

“Rashee (Rice) is a huge part of the game plan; you have to throw guys in there and make that timing up. Coach (Andy Reid) tries to get that done in practice,” said Mahomes. “He tries to throw guys in certain situations. But obviously, there’s limited reps. But I thought the guys did a great job accepting the challenge and being there in those moments.”

Rice was placed on injured reserve on Thursday, holding him out at least the next four games.
