DALLAS – Fighters from Saturday’s UFC 277 event took home UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay totaling $313,500.
The program, a comprehensive plan that includes outfitting requirements, media obligations and other items under the fighter code of conduct, replaces the previous payments made under the UFC Athlete Outfitting Policy.
UFC 277 took place at American Airlines Center. The main card aired on pay-per-view following prelims on ABC/ESPN and early prelims on ESPN+.

Under the UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance program’s payout tiers, which appropriate the money generated by Venum’s multi-year sponsorship with the UFC, fighters are paid based on their total number of UFC bouts, as well as Zuffa-era WEC fights (January 2007 and later) and Zuffa-era Strikeforce bouts (April 2011 and later). Fighters with 1-3 bouts receive $4,000 per appearance; 4-5 bouts get $4,500; 6-10 bouts get $6,000; 11-15 bouts earn $11,000; 16-20 bouts pocket $16,000; and 21 bouts and more get $21,000. Additionally, champions earn $42,000 while title challengers get $32,000.
In addition to experience-based pay, UFC fighters will receive in perpetuity royalty payments amounting to 20-30 percent of any UFC merchandise sold that bears their likeness, according to officials.

Less than two weeks away, the UFC 277 prelims are falling apart, and the promotion continues to patch things up.
UFC 277 is less than two weeks away, and the promotion continues to work through numerous fighter injuries and visa-related withdrawals.
While luckily the main card remains intact, a handful of preliminary card fighter pullouts have resulted in new bouts and a couple of yet-to-be-filled openings.
The event takes place July 30 at American Airlines Center in Dallas with the main card streaming on pay-per-view after prelims on ESPN/ESPN+.

Rafa Garcia overcame a point deduction to tap out Jesse Ronson at UFC on ESPN 34.
[autotag]Rafa Garcia[/autotag] spoiled [autotag]Jesse Ronson[/autotag]’s return to competition Saturday with a slick submission win at UFC on ESPN 34.
It was one-way traffic for Garcia (14-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) in the lightweight bout, which took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. He established grappling superiority in the first round over Ronson (21-11 MMA, 0-4 UFC), but hurt his own chances by having a point deducted due to an illegal knee on a getup.
The point deduction appeared to only boost Garcia’s aggression for a finish, though. In Round 2, he got Ronson back on the mat, secured a rear-naked choke and forced the tapout.

After losing his first pair of UFC fights, Garcia has now turned things around with back-to-back octagon victories. Ronson, meanwhile, remains officially winless under the UFC banner spanning across two stints that date back to 2013.

Garcia (12-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC) takes on [autotag]Natan Levy[/autotag] (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) at the UFC’s Nov. 20 Fight Night event expected to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Two people with knowledge of the booking informed MMA Junkie of the matchup Monday but asked to remain anonymous since the UFC has yet to make an official announcement.
Garcia has lost his first two octagon bouts. After amassing a perfect 12-0 record en route to capturing the Combate Americas lightweight title, Garcia dropped back-to-back unanimous decision losses to Nasrat Haqparast and, most recently, Chris Gruetzemacher in July.
Training out of Syndicate MMA, the 29-year-old Levy punched his ticket to the UFC when he submitted Shaheen Santana in the third round at Dana White’s Contender Series 35 in November 2020. Levy was scheduled to make his UFC debut against Austin Hubbard in April, but was forced to withdraw due to an undisclosed injury.

Belal Muhammad isn’t facing a long time off after suffering a nasty eye poke against Leon Edwards at UFC Fight Night 187.

Thankfully, [autotag]Belal Muhammad[/autotag] isn’t facing a potentially long medical suspension coming out of UFC Fight Night 187.
Muhammad’s first headliner vs. Leon Edwards was ruled a no contest after Edwards accidentally poked him in the eye 18 seconds into the second round of their welterweight fight. Visibly in pain, Muhammad was unable to continue and, as a result, the fight was stopped without a winner.
Muhammad (18-3 MMA, 9-3 UFC) was able to provide a positive update shortly after, stating that he suffered no permanent damage to his eye and was slowly starting to get his vision back. The medical report supports his claim as Muhammad will be prohibited from any contact for 21 days with no contest for 30 days, until he receives doctor clearance for his right eye.
