Even with Nick Sirianni’s team clinching a playoff berth for the third straight year, there were question marks centered around the personnel and coaching staff following a historic collapse that saw Philadelphia lose 6 of their final seven games.

It’s never too early to look ahead at the NFL draft, and with so many holes on defense, Howie Roseman has the assets to retool the roster.

Philadelphia has never drafted an off-the-ball linebacker in the first round, and they won’t this spring either, but Howie Roseman will reload in the trenches and could get a familiar name at cornerback via the PFF mock draft simulator.

Purple Daily on Draft: Winners from Reese’s Senior Bowl

Who could be a Minnesota Vikings from the Reese’s Senior Bowl? The Purple Daily on Draft crew discussed in depth

The Minnesota Vikings were out in Mobile, AL in full force taking a look at all of the prospects at the Reese’s Senior Bowl. Kevin O’Connell and Kwesi-Adofo-Mensah were on the field getting a close look at the quarterback prospects.

Seeing players going against their contemporaries is important, especially when they are from smaller schools. Guys like Toledo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell and New Hampshire running back Dylan Laube took advantage of the opportunity and showed that they belonged.

Who else stood out during the Senior Bowl? Host Tyler Forness was down in Mobile scouting all of the prospects and seeing who might be good members of the Vikings in 2024.

To finish off the show, the crew discusses the mock draft from NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein. Who did the Vikings take and how good of a fit is it?

Many top prospects opt out of playing in the Senior Bowl

Many top prospects opt out of playing in the Senior Bowl after participating in practices during the week

The 2024 Senior Bowl week capped off with Saturday’s game in Mobile. The three days of practices at the home of hte University of South Alabama saw over 100 potential NFL draft prospects work out under the watchful eyes of NFL evaluators from all 32 teams as well as hundreds of media members.

Alas, many of those players chose not to play in the actual game, which the National team won 16-7 over the American team. There were various reasons for not playing; some players suffered injuries during the week, while others opted to stand on what positives they’d accomplished in practices.

Among the most notable prospects who were in practices during the week but didn’t participate in the Senior Bowl game itself:

UCLA EDGE Laiatu Latu

Washington QB Michael Penix Jr.

Michigan WR Roman Wilson

Oregon OL Jackson Powers-Johnson

Oregon State OT Taliese Fuaga

North Carolina State LB Payton Wilson

Toledo CB Quinyon Mitchell

Western Kentucky WR Malachi Corley

Those who didn’t play gave more opportunities to those who did get into the Senior Bowl game on Saturday. As an example, with Penix sitting out, Notre Dame QB Sam Hartman played almost the entire game for the National team.

10 standouts from 2024 Senior Bowl week

Here are 10 players who helped themselves for the NFL draft during Senior Bowl week.

The 2024 Reese’s Senior Bowl is over. On Saturday, the National team defeated the American team 16-7, and South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler was named the MVP. Rattler played the first two series, completing all four passing attempts for 69 yards and a touchdown.

The game isn’t the most essential part of the week. It’s the weigh-ins, the three practices and the face time these prospects get with each of the 32 NFL teams. Every NFL team is represented in Mobile, Al. Washington Commanders general manager Adam Peters was in town for part of the week and he was certainly checking out Houston offensive Patrick Paul — and, of course, many others.

With the first portion of the road to the 2024 NFL draft over, we look at 10 prospects who helped themselves after a strong showing in Mobile.

8 standouts from the 2024 Senior Bowl

These eight prospects shined at the Senior Bowl.

We know the Indianapolis Colts kept a keen eye on the Senior Bowl throughout the week of practice ahead of the 2024 NFL draft, and there were plenty of standouts who likely caught the team’s attention.

Though the scouting department has been hard at work since the fall, the majority of the front office is just now getting to know this crop of prospects. Over the next few months, the big board will be finalized, and the Senior Bowl will play a major role in that development.

After the week of practice concluded, the game itself takes place Saturday at 1:00 p.m. ET and will air on NFL Network.

Texans 4-round mock draft: Senior Bowl exclusive

What if the Texans could only draft from the Senior Bowl? John Crumpler’s latest mock draft does just that.

Senior Bowl practices have officially come and gone in Mobile, Ala.

One of the most talented groups in years, according to director Jim Nagy, did not disappoint. It was a phenomenal week of football that saw multiple NFL draft prospects help themselves over three days of practice against their draft-eligible peers.

The Houston Texans are involved heavily in this event annually. Last year, the team selected participants Tank Dell, Henry To’oTo’o, Dylan Horton and Jarrett Patterson. This year, general manager Nick Caserio and director of college scouting James Liipfert were both present, and multiple players confirmed meetings with the team.

What if the Texans could only draft from the Senior Bowl? Well, fortunately, there would be plenty of talent to choose from. This mock draft goes through the first four rounds with four players to watch in each potential round from the Senior Bowl that could majorly boost the Texans in April.

We look at some of the best photos from day three of Senior Bowl practice.

Day three of Senior Bowl practice is over, and several 2024 NFL draft prospects can now look forward to Saturday’s game.

It was a good week in Mobile for offensive linemen. Multiple offensive linemen either cemented their status in the first round or entered the first-round conversation. This is a much-needed deep class with a shortage of quality offensive tackles in the NFL.

As for the quarterbacks, Oregon’s Bo Nix didn’t have the best week, while Spencer Rattler of South Carolina made his case to be selected sometime on day two of the NFL draft.
