Notre Dame bowl projections following domination of Clemson

What is more important in regards to Notre Dame’s ultimate bowl destination: opponent, location, winnability, or other?

Unless you’re living under a bridge in a far-off land, you’re aware Notre Dame kicked the living daylights out of previously unbeaten Clemson last week and moved to 6-3 on the year.  The Irish officially became bowl eligible with the victory and we scoured the internet to find where the experts see Notre Dame heading this winter.

As a Notre Dame fan (which we assume you are since you’re at Fighting Irish Wire), do you have a preference on where the Irish head?  Does it not matter to you as long as it’s warm?  A big-name opponent?  A cool city?  A winnable game?

If it’s not the College Football Playoff then most people have their desires for a bowl appearance that has to do with one of the above.  Here is where the 12 outlets we found have Notre Dame heading this postseason.  Comment below with which you would prefer or would most like to avoid.

College Football News: New College Football Playoff rankings released

What should the top four be?

After a crazy weekend of college football that saw the No. 1, No. 4, and No. 6 teams in the nation drop games we have the updated College Football Playoff rankings.  The CFP committee announced them on Tuesday night and how things have already changed.

We knew there would be a new number one after Tennessee‘s loss and we have that, but we also have a new team that has entered the top four.  How high did LSU end up after their upset with Alabama?  How far did Clemson drop after the drubbing they were handed by Notre Dame?  And how did the Fighting Irish after their huge home victory?

Here is the second edition of the College Football Playoff rankings following Week 10 of the season.

College football rankings: Nick Shepkowski’s 11 Best

“I don’t play my best 11, I play my 11 best” – Knute Rockne

The initial College Football Playoff rankings will be released Tuesday night as a ton of excitement will come in for the listing of teams that will essentially eat each other up over the next month.  However, whenever you put numbers in front of a team’s name you’ll get a reaction and we’ll certainly be participating in that here at Fighting Irish Wire come Tuesday night.

How should the teams be ranked?  Should Notre Dame be given strong consideration for being a top-25 team by the committee as they have wins over both North Carolina and Syracuse?

That’s a conversation I’m sure we’ll discuss down the road but here is how I would rank college football’s 11 Best following Week 9.

What will Notre Dame’s final record end up being?

Roll Tide Wire staff predictions for Alabama vs. Mississippi State

Score predictions from the staff ahead of the Week 8 matchup against Mississippi State!

Alabama is coming off a very disappointing loss to the Tennessee Volunteers last weekend and has hopes to get back in the win column on Saturday night against the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Crimson Tide head coach [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] has discussed all week long about not playing with anxiety as the Tide did last weekend in Knoxville.

If Alabama wants to make another run at the College Football Playoff, it is time to put the anxiety to bed and bring back the “Bama Factor”. Alabama has all the tools to be a championship-level team this season and the Tide could reclaim some of its dominating traits with an impressive win on Saturday night.

Let’s take a look at the predictions from the staff here at Roll Tide Wire!

Roll Tide Wire staff predictions for Alabama vs. Texas A&M

Roll Tide Wire Staff predictions for the Week 6 matchup against the Texas A&M Aggies!

[autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and No. 1 Alabama will look to exact revenge on Saturday when Jimbo Fisher and the Texas A&M Aggies enter Bryant-Denny Stadium for a matchup between SEC West rivals.

Everyone remembers how the Aggies downed the Tide in College Station last season with a last-second field goal. And the beef between the two head coaches over the summer just added gas to the fire.

Both teams are dealing with injuries at the quarterback position as Texas A&M starter Max Johnson being ruled out for the season with a broken hand and Alabama starter [autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag] injuring his shoulder last weekend is now being listed as a game-time decision.

There are a lot of uncertainties as the team enters the matchup, but here are Roll Tide Wire’s staff predictions for Alabama vs. Texas A&M.

Jaguars RB James Robinson aims to turn heads with spectacular 2022 campaign

Robinson could make a huge impression around the league in his third season with the #Jaguars.

The dominance of Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson has been an overlooked part of the team’s miserable 2020 and 2021 seasons. Through every tribulation that has beset the team over the last two years, Robinson has remained a rock-solid ball carrier who can make game-breaking plays any time he has the ball in his hands.

Listed as the starting running back on the Jaguars’ official depth chart, he is primed for an impressive season in Jacksonville’s revamped offense, and should be able to help deliver his team wins with his work in the ground game. Reinforced by second-year back Travis Etienne Jr. behind him on the depth chart, Robinson and the offense should be optimistic about their prospects of making something special happen in 2022, though it’ll take a sustained effort to turn the Jaguars into true competitors.

Much of the Jaguars discourse over the course of the offseason was centered around the return of Etienne after he was held out last year due to injury. Robinson proved that he could capably lead the team in Etienne’s absence, but he suffered a devastating Achilles injury in Week 17, and was seen as questionable to start this year as he was still rehabbing through training camp and the preseason.

Head coach Doug Pederson assured members of the media that Robinson would be a full-go in the Jaguars’ first tilt against the Washington Commanders this weekend.

Robinson entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2020 after becoming a star at Illinois State in the FCS. Two seasons into his career, he is one of just four undrafted players ever to have 15 touchdowns in the first two seasons of a career. Also on the list of backs who have achieved the outstanding accomplishment are veteran Phillip Lindsay, former Cleveland Browns fullback Kevin Mack, and Houston Texans legend Arian Foster.

It is no mistake that Robinson has landed himself in such elite company, and with a younger option nipping at his heels for more playing time, expect him to play his heart out in 2022 as he looks to establish himself as one of the league’s top running backs.

Experts make their picks, score predictions for Alabama vs. Texas

Who will come out on top between Alabama and Texas? Experts are weighing in.

Alabama enters Week 2 of the 2022 college football season as the top-ranked team in the nation and will hit the road to travel to Austin, Texas to face the Texas Longhorns in a highly-anticipated matchup between to of the game’s biggest and most respected brands.

While Alabama is ranked No. 1, Texas is not ranked at all in the latest poll. An upset would surely put them in the rankings, and potentially playoff contention, while the remainder of Alabama’s season would likely be damage control.

However, many experts are leaning in favor of the Crimson Tide on this one. Various experts from media outlets all across the country have made their picks and score predictions.

National media’s bowl projections for Georgia football in 2022

The national media is pretty much all on the same page when it comes to Georgia’s projected 2022 bowl game

Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State. Those are the three teams that pretty much every outlet predicts will make the College Football Playoff this season. The fourth spot, whether it be Clemson or Notre Dame, seems to be up for grabs.

However, there’s no denying that preseason bowl projections are as meaningless as preseason rankings. But there’s also no denying that these projections are a great way to kill the time between now and college football beginning next week.

We reviewed some of the leading national media outlets’ bowl predictions for Georgia this season, and there’s really not any out-of-the-box projections being made for the 2022 Bulldogs.
