Seahawks receiver Phillip Dorsett II to return to practice Wednesday

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Phillip Dorsett II, who was inactive Week 1 with a foot injury, is set to return to practice Wednesday.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Phillip Dorsett II is set to return to practice on Wednesday. Dorsett has been battling a sore foot and was inactive Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons.

Coach Pete Carroll provided an update on Dorsett and a couple of other players during his Wednesday press conference before practice.

“We are gonna get Phillip Dorsett back on the field today,” Carroll said. “We’ll see how he does getting ready for the weekend. So we are in pretty good shape.”

While Dorsett may be able to resume work, it’s looking like defensive end Rasheem Green (shoulder) and tackle Cedric Ogbuehi (pec) could be a few days at least.

“It’s gonna take all week to figure it out with him and see how he comes back,” Carroll said of Green. “He got some tests done today. So we won’t know.”

Ogbuehi is also in wait-and-see mode.

“Cedric is still going to be hampered a bit,” Carroll acknowledged. “We won’t know until the end of the week on Cedric.”

The official practice report is expected to be released later Wednesday afternoon.

Seahawks add tackle Jamarco Jones to injury report with illness

The Seattle Seahawks have added tackle Jamarco Jones to the Week 1 injury report on Saturday with an undisclosed illness.

The Seattle Seahawks have announced a late addition to the Week 1 injury report ahead of the Atlanta Falcons matchup on Sunday.

Tackle Jamarco Jones has been added to the list, designated as questionable to play with an illness. The nature of the illness was not disclosed.

Seattle now has three players on the injury report for Sunday: tackle Cedric Ogbuehi, who has been ruled out with a pec injury, wide receiver Phillip Dorsett, listed as questionable with a sore foot, and Jones.

The Seahawks and Falcons are set to kick off at 10:00 a.m. PT on Sunday, Sept. 13. Everything you need to know to catch all the action can be found here.

The Seattle Seahawks have a game plan in mind to keep veteran left tackle Duane Brown healthy throughout the 2020 season.

“We’ve really managed him all the way through camp,” coach Pete Carroll said after Friday’s walkthrough. “We’re just working him on a schedule. He’s been around a long time and we want to make sure to take care of him. It’s a long year, and we don’t want to go until he feels something.”

Brown was not listed on the Seahawks injury report on Friday, but he was limited in practice on Wednesday and Friday and sat out Thursday’s session altogether.

“We’re just managing him kind of with a regular system,” Carroll continued. “We think we’re on it right now, so it’ll be very much the same for a while.”

Since Brown wasn’t designated as even questionable to play on Friday’s report, there should be no concerns about him starting Sunday against the Falcons in Atlanta.

Seahawks vs. Packers injury report: Key Seattle replacements for divisional playoffs

Here are a few key replacement players the Seattle Seahawks could utilize against the Green Bay Packers in their NFC divisional-round game.

The Seattle Seahawks held one final practice at home Friday afternoon before heading off to Green Bay ahead of their divisional-round matchup against the Packers.

Seattle did not rule out any players on the final injury report of the week, however, guard Mike Iupati was listed as doubtful to play with a neck injury.

In addition, five players were ruled questionable for this weekend – including tackles Duane Brown (knee) and George Fant (groin) – leaving an already thin offensive line potentially even leaner come Sunday.

With Iupati, Brown and Fant game-day decisions, the versatile Jamarco Jones will likely be charged with filling in somewhere on the Seahawks front five. Jones can line up at either tackle or guard and on both sides of the line.

“He’s done a really nice job to acclimate because he’s been a left side guy, too,” coach Pete Carroll said after practice. “A while back a few weeks, he played right side and did a fine job there. It hasn’t been a struggle for him at all. Either side, either spot really. I think he’ll do good wherever we need him.”

Seattle could also look to Chad Wheeler for a few reps, if needed. Wheeler was just called up from the practice squad this week and has not appeared in an NFL game this season.

As for the defensive side of the ball, defensive ends Ziggy Ansah (neck) and Quinton Jefferson (ankle) are also both questionable for Sunday. Jadeveon Clowney (ankle), who was a full participant on Friday despite limited work during the week, is expected to suit up against the Packers.

With all three defensive ends still banged up, rookie L.J. Collier, who was inactive against the Eagles, may hear his number called this weekend.

Here’s a look at the full injury reports for Seattle and Green Bay.
