Steelers final injury report vs. Colts in Week 16

The Pittsburgh Steelers released their final injury report ahead of the Week 16 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts.

There’s a mix of good and bad coming out of Pittsburgh Steelers camp about who is and isn’t likely to suit up on Sunday versus the Colts.

The bad news is that linebacker Ulysees Gilbert was placed on injured reserve for the second time this season, this time with an ankle injury. Several others are listed as questionable: Kicker Chris Boswell (groin), linebacker Marcus Allen (stinger), linebacker Ola Adeniyi (shoulder) and running back Anthony McFarland (illness). Adeniyi and Boswell did practice Friday in a limited capacity.

The great news is defensive end Stephon Tuitt, who missed two days of practice this week, was a full participant on Friday and was not on the status report. Pittsburgh also got linebacker Vince Williams back earlier this week from the Reserve/COVID-19 list. It’s unclear whether he’ll play.

Three other components on the offensive side — tight end Eric Ebron (back), running back James Conner (quad), Kevin Dotson (shoulder) and fullback Derek Watt (concussion), were also full participants and not listed on the injury report.

Here’s the full injury report from Steelers.com:

Ravens vs. Steelers injury report: CB Jimmy Smith returns Friday

The Baltimore Ravens’ injury report for Friday is just an estimation but cornerback Jimmy Smith was estimated to return to practice.

The Baltimore Ravens will now take on the Pittsburgh Steelers Tuesday following the NFL rescheduling their Week 12 game for the second time this week. As both teams have put players on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, their respective injury reports aren’t quite as bad as they could be.

Though the Ravens have closed their training facility this week, making the injury reports estimations only, the extra rest time has been beneficial for Baltimore especially. Cornerback Jimmy Smith was estimated to return to practice on Friday after missing the last four days due to an ankle injury. With the Ravens having 14 players on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, having every available starter as healthy as possible is a necessity if Baltimore wants to be competitive against Pittsburgh Tuesday.

The Baltimore Ravens take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in just over two days, from the time I publish this article, but their training facility was closed yet again this week after more positive COVID-19 cases emerged.

Outside linebacker Pernell McPhee was added to the Reserve/COVID-19 list that is now at six players, including Brandon Williams, J.K. Dobbins, and Mark Ingram. But the schedule continues to march on, leading us to Tuesday’s injury report in preparation for Thursday’s Thanksgiving matchup.

The Ravens’ injury report is once again estimated due to the facility being closed and there not being a traditional practice. However, the Steelers practiced Tuesday, causing the injury report to see massive changes suddenly.

Calais Campbell and Jimmy Smith were listed as not practicing, the second consecutive day the defensive starters were out. However, the more pressing concern might be defensive end Derek Wolfe, who was listed as not practicing because of an illness. While it could be something far less serious and the Ravens are simply being cautious, Baltimore’s current COVID-19 outbreak still raises some anxiety when another player shows symptoms of any illness.
