Seahawks QB Drew Lock throws his second interception vs. Cowboys

Watch Lock stare down Penny Hart and get picked off again.

Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock is making Pete Carroll’s starter decision easier. While he’s made some pretty throws in tonight’s preseason game against Dallas, he’s also thrown two interceptions of the you-just-can’t-do-that variety.

Watch Lock stare down Penny Hart and get picked off again, this time by Nashon Wright.

The Seahawks lead 13-10 with a minute to go in the first half.

Drew Lock throws a bad pick then a dime touchdown vs. Dallas

Lock has had two drives and shown the extremes of what he’s capable of.

After one series for Geno Smith, the Seahawks put Drew Lock in at quarterback against the Cowboys. Lock has had two drives and shown the extremes of what he’s capable of.

Watch Lock throw a pick on his second pass attempt.

This was a good jump by Israel Mukuamu, but Lock’s pass was late.

Lock got back on the field soon after thanks to a quick three and out by the Cowboys offense. He answered with a perfectly-placed dime of a pass to preseason standout wide receiver Penny Hart for a 35-yard touchdown.

Seattle leads 10-0 late in the first quarter.

More absolutely gorgeous pass protection, here. We simply didn’t see this level of pass blocking consistently at any point in the Russell Wilson era.

That pass set Seattle up in field goal range but kicker Jason Myers missed from 47 yards. Chicago still leads 10-0.

Watch: Seahawks QBs, WRs practicing go routes at training camp

By the looks of things, they’re still a bit raw in some areas.

The Seahawks will take the field for their first preseason game of the year in 12 days. So far, the team has gone through three practices at training camp. By the looks of things, they’re still a bit raw in some areas.

Observe this clip from Gregg Bell at the News Tribune of Geno Smith and Drew Lock practicing throwing go routes with the wide receivers. The first two passes appear to be dropped by Freddie Swain and DK Metcalf, followed by an overthrow from Lock to Penny Hart. Cody Thompson closes with a catch.

It looks bad, but keep in mind this is only a tiny portion of the work the offense has put in and fans shouldn’t look too much into this or any other one video. That said, there’s a reason why they practice and the first couple games of any season tend to be a bit sloppy.

Seahawks WR Penny Hart admits he was hurt by not getting drafted

Seahawks WR Penny Hart admits he was hurt by not getting drafted

Over the next three days a couple hundred athletes will achieve a lifelong dream of getting drafted into the NFL. Many more will go undrafted and will either have to scramble to sign with a team as a college free agent or try their luck in another league.

A few years ago Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Penny Hart was one of them. Hart now admits nothing hurt more than not hearing his name called. However, he’s still made a career for himself going into Year 4.

Hart has functioned as a decent WR3 for Seattle beneath superstars D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. It’s likely that last year’s second round draft pick, Dee Eskridge will take over that role in 2022 if he can stay healthy as opposed to his rookie season, which was cut in half by a bad concussion he suffered Week 1.

If the team drafts a wide receiver prospect this year, Hart may be their primary competition for playing time.

Seahawks WR Penny Hart shares advice for 2022 NFL draft prospects

Seattle wide receiver Penny Hart shared some advice for this year’s draft prospects on Twitter today.

Now that the Seahawks’ 2021 season is overwith, the next big thing to look forward to is the start of free agency, followed by the annual NFL draft. It’s an extremely busy and frequently stressful time of the year for scouting departments and college players hoping to make the jump to the pros.

Seattle wide receiver Penny Hart shared some advice for this year’s draft prospects on Twitter today.

Hart played his college football career at Georgia State, here he totaled almost 3,000 receiving yards and scored 19 touchdowns.

As with many standout amateur players, Hart’s role in the NFL has been much smaller. Now that he’s playing behind superstar wide receivers like D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, he has totaled just eight catches and 62 yards in two seasons. However, Hart has carved out a regular role for himself on special teams. This year he was on the field for 45% of those snaps.

Russell Wilson brags about being a lockdown cornerback in high school

Watch Wilson talk to Seahawks wide receiver Penny Hart about being a lockdown corner in high school.

Russell Wilson has made an outstanding career for himself in the NFL at quarterback, despite being relatively undersized at the position. It’s always interesting to think about other spots star QBs might have played. In Wilson’s case, he might have been a Legion of Boomer in another life.

Seahawks receivers Dee Eskridge, Penny Hart in concussion protocol

Seattle Seahawks wide receivers Dee Eskridge and Penny Hart are in the NFL’s concussion protocol after sustaining hits to the head Week 1.

The Seattle Seahawks had a couple of wide receivers leave the Week 1 contest against the Indianapolis Colts early after sustaining hits to the head. Rookie wide receiver Dee Eskridge and Penny Hart are both now in the NFL’s mandated concussion protocol.

Coach Pete Carroll is unsure how long it will be for either player to return.

“It’s going to take a couple of days to get it done,” Carroll said during his Monday afternoon press conference. “They’re not the same, they’re individual cases and we’ll treat them, of course, individually, but there’s a timeframe sequence they have to follow to make it back.

“So nothing to make a prediction about right now other than we’ll see what happens.”

The Seahawks are set to face the Titans in Seattle’s home opener on Sunday and could very well be without both wide receivers.

Tuesday is a player off day, but Carroll should have some additional information on Wednesday before practice.

The Seattle Seahawks notched an impressive win in their first outing of the regular season, beating the Indianapolis Colts 28-16. Coach Pete Carroll updated the team’s injury situation following the victory.

Running back Rashaad Penny (calf): Penny left the game and was initially deemed questionable but ultimately did not return to the game.

“Rashaad’s calf tightened up a little bit, so we just decided – it’s so early – to just keep him out of there,” Carroll told reporters after the game. “We have three guys you know they could play by past Chris (Carson), that was all right, so we kept him out.”

Wide receiver Penny Hart (head): Hart took a hit to the head and was ruled out for precautionary measures.

Wide receiver Dee Eskridge (head): Eskridge also sustained a hard head hit and is being evaluated for a concussion.

“Penny Hart had a concussion of concern, so we had to keep him out,” Carroll said. “(Eskridge) also had a concussion. We don’t know how serious those are until we really get some time on it, but enough that we need to keep them out.”

Offensive lineman Ethan Pocic (knee): “He sprained his knee a little bit,” Carroll said. “We’re not sure how bad that is, we’ve got to wait and see.”

Seahawks injury updates: RB Rashaad Penny, WR Penny Hart ruled out vs. Colts

Wide receiver Penny hart has also been ruled out due to a concussion.

The Seattle Seahawks are off to a strong start against the Indianapolis Colts, carrying a comfortable double-digit lead into the middle of the third quarter. The headlines out of Indianapolis haven’t all been positive, though. A couple of offensive players have been knocked out of the game.

Specifically, running back Rashaad Penny has been ruled out for the rest of the game due to a calf injury. Wide receiver Penny hart has also been ruled out due to a concussion.

Seattle leads 21-10 five minutes into the second half.
