Indiana Pacers at Orlando Magic odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Indiana Pacers at Orlando Magic odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Indiana Pacers (35-29) take on the Orlando Magic (37-27) Sunday with tip-off from Kia Center set for 6 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Pacers vs. Magic odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Magic lead 2-0

The Pacers come into this game having dropped 3 of 4 after a 113-111 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves Thursday. G Tyrese Haliburton had 23 points and 13 assists in his most productive game since Feb. 22. The Pacers sit in 8th place and are just 1/2 game out of 6th place, which would negate them having to participate in the play-in tournament.

The Magic are in 5th place — 2 full games ahead of Indiana. Orlando had a 5-game winning streak snapped with a 98-74 debacle at the New York Knicks Friday. They return home from that 3-game road trip, where they are 21-8 on the season. F Paolo Banchero has taken his game to another level averaging 25.6 PPG, 7.4 RPG and 5.2 assists over his last 5 games.

Pacers at Magic and predictions

Prediction

Magic 117, Pacers 111

Moneyline

The Magic won both meetings in Indiana by scores of 117-110 and 128-116. The Magic are great at home and 8-2 over their last 10. Indiana just hasn’t been a consistent run-and-gun team like they have been all season. They are averaging 119.1 PPG over their last 10, but when they reach 120, they are 5-1. When they do not, they’re 0-4. The Magic quietly possesses the 3rd-best defense in the league, allowing just 109.4 PPG.

Take the MAGIC -135 or look to the cheaper option on the spread.

Against the spread

The Magic have won each game against Indiana, on the road, by at least 7 points. The spread dropped down from 2.5 to 1.5 Sunday morning, and I’m all about the MAGIC -1.5 (-115) and would consider the ALTERNATE MAGIC -3.5 (+115).

Over/Under

This total jumped up a point Sunday morning, but I felt it was a little mispriced anyway. Both teams are 3-7 O/U over the last 10, but both matchups in Indiana cleared this number. Even through its struggles, Indiana is still averaging 119 of the 225 needed to clear this number over its last 10.

Take the OVER 224.5 (-105).

Orlando Magic at New York Knicks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Orlando Magic at New York Knicks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The New York Knicks (36-26) welcome the Orlando Magic (37-26) to Madison Square Garden Friday. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Magic vs. Knicks odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Magic lead 3-0 and have covered in each meeting

Orlando is coming off a 119-109 win over the Washington Wizards Wednesday, covering as a 7-point road favorite. The Magic are 42-21 against the spread (ATS) this season and have covered in 5 straight games. Orlando is led by F Paolo Banchero, who is averaging 22.9 points per game (PPG).

The Knicks lost to the Atlanta Hawks 116-100 at home Tuesday, failing to cover as a 1.5-point favorite. Despite being 31-29-2 ATS on the season, New York has covered in just once in its last 6 games and it has failed to cover in 9 straight home games. The Knicks are led by G Jalen Brunson, who is averaging 27.2 PPG.

Magic at Knicks picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 105, Knicks 102

Moneyline

BET MAGIC (-104).

Orlando has won 4 of its last 5 games on the road, and while most of those were against bottom-tier Eastern Conference sides, one was a 7-point win in Cleveland against the Cavaliers. The Magic have also had the Knicks number this season, winning all 3. They won 98-94 in the Jan. 15 meeting in New York despite shooting just 28% from deep.

That said, the Knicks have lost 3 of their last 4 games and 4 of their last 6. They have also lost 4 of their last 5 at home, only beating the Pistons. Expect the Magic to again come out on top. Take MAGIC (-104).

Against the spread

PASS.

Take the better odds for the road team on the moneyline, especially considering how injured New York is.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 208.5 (-110).

If there’s something both teams have done consistently as of late, it is hit the Under. The Knicks have gone Under in 6 of their last 7, scoring 100 or fewer in 3 of their last 4. New York could be without Brunson and will be without Randle, its second-leading scorer.

The Magic have gone Under in 6 of their last 7 games and have allowed 91 or fewer points in 3 of their last 5. They have a top-5 defensive rating and play at the 26th-quickest pace. The Knicks sit last in pace.

Expect a slow-tempo game and take UNDER 208.5 (-110).

Orlando Magic at Washington Wizards odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Orlando Magic at Washington Wizards odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Orlando Magic (36-26) make the 2nd stop on a 3-game road trip against the Washington Wizards (9-52) Wednesday at Capital One Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Magic vs. Wizards odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Magic lead 3-0

The Magic won and covered for the 4th straight game Tuesday in Charlotte, beating the Hornets 101-89 as 8.5-point favorites as the Under (208) cashed for the 6th consecutive outing.

Orlando lost its most recent game at the Atlanta Hawks on no rest, falling 109-92 as a 2-point underdog as the Under (223) cashed Feb. 25. However, the Magic are 2-1 ATS in the past 3 when playing on no rest, while the Over is 2-1.

The Wizards are in freefall, dropping 15 consecutive games while going 2-5 ATS in the previous 7 setbacks. The Over has cashed in 3 in a row and 6 of the past 8 for Washington.

Orlando is 2-1 ATS vs. Washington this season, and the Over is 3-0. The most recent meeting was a Magic cover as 7-point favorites in a 127-119 win in D.C. Dec. 26.

Magic at Wizards picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 118, Wizards 101

Moneyline

The Magic (-350) will cost you 3½ times your potential return, and that’s way too much risk, especially for a team playing on the road with no rest. The Wizards (+260) can’t be trusted, either, as they come in on a 15-game losing skid, the longest active streak in the NBA. In fact, at 5 straight losses, the 2nd-shortest belongs to the Charlotte Hornets, the team Orlando just beat Tuesday.

AVOID, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

The MAGIC -8.5 (-110) is a rather large number on the road, but playing Orlando makes sense against the skidding Wizards +8.5 (-110). Perhaps against any other team, Orlando would be an avoidable play, but Washington is careening out of control and sitting on a single-digit win total for the season.

Orlando has won and covered 4 in a row while posting 7 wins in the past 8 outings, with a 6-2 ATS mark in that span. The Magic would host a playoff series if the season ended now; that’s how well this club has been playing. Trust Orlando in the nation’s capital.

Over/Under

UNDER 222.5 (-110) is a strong play. The Magic have cashed the Under in 6 consecutive outings, including each of the past 3 on the road. In fact, Orlando’s defense has been legit lately, holding teams to 109 or fewer points in 9 straight games and 91 or fewer points in 3 of the past 4 outings.

Washington has hit the Over in the past 3 games, mostly due to its pathetic defense. The Wizards rank 30th in the NBA with 124.7 points per game allowed. Washington struggles to put up points, and it will continue to do so against a lockdown defense from O-Town.

Orlando Magic at Charlotte Hornets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Orlando Magic at Charlotte Hornets odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Orlando Magic (35-26) visit the Charlotte Hornets (15-46) Tuesday. Tip-off from Spectrum Center is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Magic vs. Hornets odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Magic lead 1-0 with a 130-117 win in Orlando on Nov. 26

Orlando routed the Detroit Pistons 113-91 Sunday while covering as a 10.5-point home favorite. Orlando held the Pistons to 38.4% shooting from the field and 22.2% shooting from deep while outrebounding Detroit 48-28. The Magic have won 3 consecutive games and have held 2 of its last 3 opponents to under 100 points.

Charlotte lost 111-106 to the Toronto Raptors Sunday, covering as a 7.5-point road underdog. The Hornets have been held to under 100 points in 2 of their last 4 games and under 110 points in 3 of their last 4. Charlotte has lost 4 straight games, but is 2-0 against the spread (ATS) in its last 2 outings.

Magic at Hornets picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 105, Hornets 95

Moneyline

PASS.

The Magic should come away with the win, but they are not worth the risk of betting on as -375 favorites. Bet on the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

LEAN MAGIC -8.5 (-110).

Orlando has covered the spread in each of its last 3 games and is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games. The Magic have also covered in 3 consecutive meetings with Charlotte and are 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings. Orlando has also been the better team ATS this season, being 40-21 while the Hornets are 25-36.

Over/Under

UNDER 207.5 (-105).

The Under has hit in 5 consecutive games for Orlando and is 32-29 for the Magic this season. For Charlotte, the Under is 8-2 in its last 10 games and is also 32-29 on the season. The Under has also hit in 5 of the last 6 Orlando-Charlotte matchups.

Detroit Pistons at Orlando Magic odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Detroit Pistons at Orlando Magic odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Orlando Magic (34-26) welcome the Detroit Pistons (9-50) to the Kia Center Sunday. Tip is set for 6 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Pistons vs. Magic odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Magic lead 3-0

The Magic beat the Utah Jazz 115-107 Thursday, covering as 6.5-point home favorites. They have won 2 in a row and 5 of their last 6, covering the spread in 4 of those 6. Orlando is 39-21 against the spread (ATS) on the season. It is led by F Paolo Banchero, who is averaging 22.8 points per game (PPG).

The Pistons lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers 110-100 Friday, failing to cover as 7-point home underdogs. Detroit has lost 7 of its last 8 games, yet is 3-1 ATS in its last 4. It is 6-4 ATS in its last 10 and 30-29 ATS on the season. The Pistons are led by G Cade Cunningham, who is averaging 22.4 PPG.

Pistons at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 114, Pistons 100

Moneyline

PASS.

The Magic have beat the Pistons in all 3 games and beat the Pistons by 32 in Orlando earlier in the season. However, they certainly aren’t worth any wager at -590.

Against the spread

BET MAGIC -11 (-110).

The Pistons have failed to cover 3 of their last 5 games as double-digit underdogs. Detroit lost by just 3 to Orlando Feb. 24 but shot over 50% from the field. That is unlikely to repeat itself.

The Magic are 3-1 ATS in their last 4 games as double-digit favorites. Orlando has a strong defense that should limit what Detroit can do offensively. The Magic are a league-best 19-8 ATS at home.

Back MAGIC -11 (-110).

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 217 (-110).

The Magic have gone Under in 4 straight games and have allowed Under 110 points in each. They have held 6 straight opponents Under that threshold. Orlando is 29-31 O/U on the season. The Pistons have gone Under in 8 straight games and have scored 105 or fewer in 2 straight.

Detroit sits 25th in offensive rating while Orlando is 5th in defensive rating. With Orlando also 26th in pace, expect a slow-tempo, low-scoring battle. TAKE UNDER 217 (-110).

Orlando Magic at Los Angeles Clippers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Orlando Magic at Los Angeles Clippers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Orlando Magic (2-1) and Los Angeles Clippers (2-1) meet Tuesday at Crypto.com Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Magic vs. Clippers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Magic won series 2-0 in 2022-23

The Magic suffered a 106-103 loss in this very same building on Monday night against the Los Angeles Lakers, although Orlando hung on for the cover as a 3.5-point underdog at most shops. The Under cashed for the 3rd time in 3 games to date, while Orlando is a perfect 3-0 against the spread (ATS).

The big news for the Clippers is that they’re likely to be quite shorthanded. That’s because Los Angeles completed a trade overnight to acquire G James Harden from the Philadelphia 76ers, as well as F P.J. Tucker, while the Clips send swingman Nic Batum, F Robert Covington, F KJ Martin and F Marcus Morris Sr. east, while also swapping picks.

Los Angeles won 123-83 last time out on Sunday against the San Antonio Spurs. Covington played 26 minutes in the starting lineup, while Martin scored 10 points in 18 minutes off the bench, while Batum played 15 minutes. So the bench will be short on Tuesday.

Magic at Clippers picks and predictions

Prediction

Clippers 111, Magic 107

Moneyline

The Clippers (-275) will cost you almost 3 times your potential return, and that’s risky business considering the short bench with the overnight trade and several injuries.

If the Magic (+220) hadn’t played an emotional game in the front end of a back-to-back on Monday, they might’ve been the sneaky play here.

PASS.

Against the spread

The MAGIC +6.5 (-110) are the play, as Orlando has cashed in 3 straight games to open the season.

The Clippers -6.5 (-110) just annihilated Wemby and the Spurs last time out, and they’re 2-0 ATS in 2 games at home this season. However, with a short bench, play the visitors. While they played Monday, the Magic don’t have to travel, so that mitigates some of the risk, as they won’t be as tired as having traveled from another city in a back-to-back.

Over/Under

UNDER 219.5 (-110) is worth a play.

The Under cashed in Sunday’s game for the Clippers, as they allowed just 83 points. And again, the Los Angeles offense and rotation could be in a little disarray with the big trade.

For Orlando, the Under has cashed in all 3 games to date, averaging in the bottom third of the NBA in points scored (107.0), while ranking No. 1 in the NBA in points allowed (96.3), while limiting teams to 44.3% shooting from the field.

Orlando Magic at Portland Trail Blazers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Orlando Magic at Portland Trail Blazers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Orlando Magic (0-1) and Portland Trail Blazers (0-1) square off on Friday with tip from Moda Center set for 10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Magic vs. Trail Blazers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; tied 1-1 last season

The Magic won their season opener in dominate fashion, 116-86 over the Houston Rockets on Wednesday and easily covered the 4.5-point spread. Thirteen players on Orlando’s roster scored with PG Cole Anthony leading the way with 20 points. SF Franz Wagner hit 3 of 7 three-pointers and scored 19 points.

The Trail Blazers began the post-Damian Lillard Era with a 123-111 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers as 9.5-point underdogs. The Blazers had 6 players in double figures, led by Malcolm Brogdon with 20 and Anfernee Simons with 18.

Magic at Trail Blazers picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 111, Trail Blazers 103

Moneyline

AVOID.

There is no getting around that the Trail Blazers are going to be among the worst teams in the NBA this season. They are unlikely to win 30 games, maybe not even 25. The Magic are on the upswing with a really good young core. I think they handle their business on the road despite the long trip to the West Coast.

While I believe they win, I don’t like taking them at -135. I’ll look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

BET MAGIC -2.5 (-110).

Orlando has won 2 of their last 3 meetings. I expect PF Paolo Banchero to take another step forward in his progression as a NBA superstar. While he only scored 12 points in the win over Houston, he averaged 20 points against Portland last season.

Orlando was 23-16-2 ATS on the road last season.

Over/Under

PASS.

I do not have a good lean in this game. If I was going to take a side, it would be the Under because that’s happened in 3 of their last 4 meetings. One team went Under and one team went Over in their openers. It’s also early in the season and teams are still getting their rotations set.

Orlando Magic at Miami Heat odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Orlando Magic at Miami Heat odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Orlando Magic (34-47) visit the Miami Heat (43-38) on Sunday. Tip from Kaseya Center is set for 1 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Magic vs. Heat odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Magic fell 101-84 on the road against the Brooklyn Nets on Friday failing to cover as a 9.5-point underdog. Orlando has lost 3 games in a row and is 5-5 in its last 10 games, but 7-2-1 against the spread (ATS) in the same span. This season, it is 45-34-2 ATS.

Miami fell 114-108 to the Washington Wizards on Friday failing to cover as a 3.5-point road favorite. The loss snapped a 3-game winning streak. The Heat are 5-5 straight up and 4-6 ATS in their last 10. This season, they are 30-49-2 ATS.

This will be the 4th meeting with Miami leading the series 2-1, but Orlando leading 2-1 ATS.

The Cleveland Cavaliers (50-30) visit the Orlando Magic (34-45) on Thursday. Tip from Amway Center is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Cavaliers vs. Magic odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Cleveland beat Orlando 117-113 to push as a 4-point road favorite on Tuesday. It has now won back-to-back games and is 7-3 in its last 10. The Cavaliers are 5-4-1 against the spread (ATS) in that span to improve to 41-35-4 ATS this season.

The loss snapped a 2-game win streak for the Magic. They are 6-4 straight up and 9-0-1 ATS in their last 10 games, improving to 45-32-2 this season.

Cleveland is 3-0 against Orlando this season. The Cavs beat the Magic 103-92 as 8.5-point home favorites on Oct. 26 and and 107-96 as 10.5-point home favorites on Dec. 2.

Cavaliers at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 108, Cavaliers 97

Moneyline

PASS.

While the odds on the Magic (-350) against a top-ranked Cavs team may turn heads at first glance, they’re actually justified (but not playable) because the majority of the Cavs starters are sitting this one out. However, you shouldn’t risk 3 1/2 times your potential return here.

Against the spread

LEAN MAGIC -8.5 (-110).

The Magic have been on an ATS tear recently going 9-0-1 ATS in their last 10 games and 10-1-1 ATS in their last 12. They are 10-0-1 ATS in their last 11 games when their opponent scores 100 or more points in their previous game, 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 home games against a team with a losing road record. They are also 22-17-1 ATS at home this season.

Orlando is rightfully considered a heavy favorite in this matchup with so many of Cleveland’s starters sidelined.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 219.5 (-110).

Cleveland’s offense ranks just 24th in the NBA in points per game (112.4) while Orlando’s ranks just 26th (112).

The Under is 3-2 in the Cavs’ last 5 games and 4-2 in the Magic’s last 6. The Under is 13-4 in the last 17 meetings between these teams and 6-2 in their last 8 meetings in Orlando.

With some players getting more run than usual you can expect sloppy play which will inhibit the number of points scored and aid the Under.

Pistons at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 116, Pistons 105

Moneyline

PASS.

The Pistons have lost 8 in a row and 12 in a row on the road. At (+300), they have no value to pull off the upset.

Against the spread

LEAN MAGIC -8.5 (-115).

The Magic have been a covering machine as of late. They rank 18th in net rating since the All-Star break; whereas the Pistons sit 27th and are on the road here. Orlando has covered 8 in a row and 4 in a row at home.

It has been surging, and it is among the healthy and competing sides outside of playoff position. Detroit will be without its top-2 scorers and have struggled to consistently cover.

The Pistons are 2-3 ATS in their last 5 road games. Put it all together and take the MAGIC -8.5 (-115).

Over/Under

BET UNDER 224.5 (-110).

The Pistons have gone Under in 7 of their last 9 games. The issue has been their offense, scoring 107 or fewer in 8 of their last 9 games. They rank 29th in true shooting percentage (54.6%) since the All-Star break.

The Magic have gone Under in 6 of their last 7 games. They have also been inconsistent offensively, scoring 111 or fewer in 3 of their last 6. Orlando also sits 3rd in defensive rebounding rate since the break, which should limit the Pistons’ aggression on the glass.

Ultimately, take the UNDER 224.5 (-110).
