The Orlando Magic (3-5) take on the Indiana Pacers (3-4) Wednesday. Tip-off from Gainbridge Fieldhouse is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Magic vs. Pacers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orlando leads 1-0

Orlando was dominated 102-86 Monday by the Oklahoma City Thunder, failing to cover as a 12.5-point road underdog with the Under 217.5) hitting. It was the Magic’s fourth consecutive loss and their third straight game without leading scorer F Paolo Banchero, who is out several weeks with a torn right oblique. F Franz Wagner has stepped up and finished as the team’s leading scorer in each of their last 2 games.

Indiana beat the Dallas Mavericks 134-127 Monday, covering as a 4.5-point road underdog. C Myles Turner dropped 30 points and 11 boards — both team-highs — while G Tyrese Haliburton added 25 points and F Pascal Siakam finished with 23. Magic at Pacers picks and predictions

Prediction

Pacers 119, Magic 108

Moneyline

AVOID.

The Pacers (-275) are the better team, while the Magic (+220) have injury issues, including one to their leading scorer.

Indiana will win, but the -275 price is not worth the risk. PASS and bet the spread and/or O/U instead.

Against the spread

BET PACERS -6.5 (-110).

Indiana has covered the spread in 3 of its last 4 games. The Magic have dropped 6 straight ATS, while going 1-5 straight up.

This game is the perfect opportunity for the Pacers to continue building some momentum and getting their confidence back after a disappointing 1-4 start to the season.

Expect the Pacers to beat the injured Magic by a solid margin here.

Orlando is still a good team, and Indiana is struggling defensively — giving up the fourth most points in the league (121.9 per game), so understand that there is some risk with this bet.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 225.5 (-115).

Indiana’s offense is very good, averaging 118.4 points per game to rank 5th in the NBA. They Pacers have played 5 Overs in a row. As mentioned above, their defense gives up too many points.

With Banchero out, Orlando’s defense gets a bit worse, so look for Indiana’s offense to carry the Over here.

This is a lean because Orlando is a very good defensive team and because the Magic will be missing Banchero’s 29.0 points per game.

Magic at Thunder picks and predictions

Prediction

Thunder 119, Magic 102

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no value on the Thunder (-750) to remain undefeated Monday.

Against the spread

BET THUNDER -12.5 (-105).

Orlando has failed to cover in 5 straight games overall, including 4 road games and 2 as an underdog. Orlando has looked lost and has not won a game since Banchero went down with an oblique injury.

Oklahoma City has covered in 5 of its 6 games this season and won all 6 by 12 or more points.

Over/Under

BET OVER 215.5 (-110).

The Magic have hit the Over in 5 of their 7 games this season while allowing 115 or more points in 3 of their last 5.

The Thunder have hit the Over in 2 of their last 4 games while scoring 114 or more points in 3 of their last 5. Oklahoma City will need to carry the load in this matchup, which it is more than equipped to do.

Magic at Cavaliers picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 121, Magic 103

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no value betting on the undefeated Cavs (-350) to win on Friday.

Against the spread

BET CAVALIERS -7.5 (-115).

The Magic had a devastating blow on Wednesday, losing Banchero for at least 4-6 weeks with a torn oblique. Banchero is leading the team with 29 points and 5.6 assists per game. Against a Cleveland team that has scored 134 or more points in 2 of its last 3 games, Orlando will be unable to keep up.

Over/Under

BET OVER 217.5 (-110).

Cleveland will be forced to carry a majority of the scoring load, however, it is second in the league at 125.2 PPG and has scored 134-plus in 3 of its 5 games this season while allowing 101 or more points in each game. Orlando has allowed 115 or more points in 2 of its last 3.

Analyzing Wednesday’s Orlando Magic at Chicago Bulls odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Chicago Bulls (2-2) welcome the Orlando Magic (3-1) to United Center Wednesday. Tip is set for 8 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Magic vs. Bulls odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Magic went 4-0 in 2023-24

The Magic beat the Indiana Pacers 119-115 Monday, closing as a 5.5-point home favorite. After covering their first 2 games, winning both by at least 15 points, the Magic have failed to cover 2 in a row, including their first loss, a 124-111 road defeat to the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday. The Magic have performed well behind former No. 1 overall pick F Paolo Banchero, who is averaging 28.5 points per game (PPG) and scored 50 points Monday.

The Bulls beat the Grizzlies 126-123 Monday, closing as a 5-point road underdog in that battle. Chicago G Zach LaVine stayed hot, scoring 30 points on 12-of-22 shooting. The Bulls have traded off winning and losing over their 4 games, starting with a 123-111 road loss to open the season at the New Orleans Pelicans. Chicago is 2-2 against the spread (ATS) and is led by LaVine, who is averaging 26 PPG.

Magic at Bulls picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 118, Bulls 111

Moneyline

PASS.

The Magic have shown energy and discipline so far this season, and their young stars are starting to shine. Expect that to continue, but at this moneyline value, avoid playing them to win outright.

Similarly, the Bulls have been too inconsistent to back here.

Against the spread

BET MAGIC -6.5 (-105).

Orlando has been exceptional to start the season, having scored at least 111 points in all 4 games and holding opponents to 101 or fewer points in 2 of its 4 games. The Magic have been surprisingly efficient offensively as well with 3 of their top-4 scoring options shooting 48% or better from the field.

Just 2 of the Bulls’ top 4 scorers can say they have eclipsed that percentage. Chicago has also disappointed after every win and struggled in its lone home match, dropping that game 114-95 to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Bulls’ offense has seen highs and lows, but their defense has only seen the latter, having allowed 122 points or more in 3 games.

Considering those pertinent issues, take the away side and back MAGIC -6.5 (-105).

Over/Under

BET  OVER 227.5 (-115).

Both teams have consistently gone Over the projected total this season, and there’s no reason to think those trends won’t continue Wednesday. The Bulls are 3-1 O/U and have scored at least 110 in 3 of 4 games and topped 126 points twice. Their defense has been a bigger issue as noted above.

The Magic, who have been efficient offensively, have also allowed at least 115 points in 2 straight games. Orlando’s efficiency against a lacking defense should maintain its dominant offensive performance. It is 4-0 O/U on the season.

That said, expect a high-scoring battle and take OVER 227.5 (-115).

Pacers at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 119, Pacers 111

Moneyline

PASS.

There is minimal value on the Magic (-220) to win at home on Monday.

Against the spread

BET MAGIC -6.5 (-115).

Both of Orlando’s wins have come by 15 or more points with its defense leading the way and allowing 101 or fewer points in 2 of its 3 games. The Pacers have allowed 118 or more points in back-to-back games and scored just 98 points in their last road game. Playing on the second half of a back-to-back, with the first half resulting in an overtime loss, the Pacers will struggle to stick around in Orlando.

Over/Under

BET OVER 224.5 (-110).

The Pacers have scored 114 or more points in 2 of their 3 games while allowing 109 or more points in all 3 of their games this season. The Magic have hit the Over in all 3 of their games while scoring 111 or more points in each.

Season series: First meeting; tied 1-1 last season

Orlando beat the Brooklyn Nets 116-101 Friday while covering as an 11.5-point favorite. F Franz Wagner continued his hot start to the season with a 29-point outing, his brother Mo Wagner also added 18 points. The Magic forced 17 turnovers in the win.

Magic at Grizzlies picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 112, Grizzlies 107

Moneyline

BET MAGIC (+100).

Orlando is the slightly better team and has shot out to a hot start this season, so I like the Magic to win this game. Orlando has the more reliable stars and has the slightly deeper team and will be able to beat the Grizzlies to stay undefeated on the season. Look for F Paolo Banchero to go off after not doing much vs. Brooklyn.

Against the spread

PASS.

The value is on the Magic ML.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 221.5 (-110).

Orlando has a very good defense and is allowing under 100 points per game to start the season. Memphis is a good team, but its offense isn’t anything so special that I am scared to bet on the Under here.

This is a lean because Orlando’s offense is slightly better this year than last year and because G Ja Morant can go off and help Memphis to put up points in bunches at anytime.

Season series: First meeting; split last season 2-2

Brooklyn dropped its first game of the season with a 120-116 loss at the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday while covering as a 7-point underdog. G Cam Thomas led the way on offense with a game-high 36 points. The Nets shot 44% from the field in the loss.

Orlando started its season with a win after taking down the Miami Heat 116-97 Wednesday as a 2-point road underdog. F Paolo Banchero scored a game-high 33 points while F Franz Wagner added 23. The Magic shot 42.7% from the field in the win.

Nets at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 114, Nets 107

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no value on the Magic (-650) to win at home Friday.

Against the spread

LEAN NETS +11.5 (-110).

Brooklyn struggled defensively to open up its season, allowing 120 points, but thanks to Thomas, it was able to match the scoring. Thomas will need to perform for the Nets to keep them in the game Friday on the road, but they also had 4 players with 13 or more points, which will keep the spread manageable.

Over/Under

BET OVER 215.5 (-110).

While Orlando showcased its ability to play defense, limiting the Heat to just 97 points in its first game, Brooklyn can push the pace more efficiently. Expect the Magic to carry more of the load in this matchup, but the Nets will tack on enough to tip the total.

Orlando Magic at Miami Heat odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Orlando Magic at Miami Heat odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Orlando Magic and Miami Heat meet to open their 2024-25 seasons Wednesday. Tip-off from Kaseya Center is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Magic vs. Heat odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Heat won 3-1 last season

Orlando comes in after performing well above expectations last season and adding veteran G Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in free agency. The Magic are also moving Jalen Suggs over to play the point guard position full time, a move that fans are eager to see. The star duo of F Paolo Banchero and F Franz Wagner has a lot of expectations entering this season.

Miami is looking at the 2024-25 season optimistically after disappointing largely due to injury last season. Fans are optimistic about C Bam Adebayo increasing his offensive role, especially after his play during the Olympics, and about the expected progression of F Jaime Jacquez. A lot of pressure is on the shoulders of F Jimmy Butler to stay healthy and perform well during this regular season before he enters free agency next offseason.

Magic at Heat picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 104, Heat 101

Moneyline

BET MAGIC (+105).

Orlando is the slightly better team than Miami as things stand, and while I do expect some growing pains with Suggs being moved to full-time point guard, those pains will be alleviated because of the playmaking prowess of Banchero. I also expect the 3-point shooting of Wagner to be better than it was last year, which will help Orlando’s offense enough to pick up the win and cover here.

Against the spread

PASS.

I like the Magic to pick up the win, but I am not a fan of doubling down on a team’s ML and run line bets. I recommend betting on the plus-money moneyline, but if you are okay with doubling down and need a little insurance then you can divvy up units between here and the ML.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 208.5 (-110).

Both teams are outstanding defensively, and with both teams healthy to start the season, those defenses will be on full display. I also expect that Orlando’s defense will be better with KCP now on the roster, and I do not see either offense being potent enough to make the Over a real possibility.

Magic at Cavaliers picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 100, Magic 99

Moneyline

The Cavaliers (-150) are 3-0 at home in this series, but it’s hard to beat NBA sides when you’re laying -150.

PASS. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

Even when the Magic are losing, they’re keeping games close. Orlando is a young team playing with house money and should be able to take advantage of all the pressure that Cleveland is facing, especially since the Magic have been exceeding expectations lately.

BET MAGIC +3.5 (-115).

Over/Under

Unders have gone 4-2 in the series, but this total is set too low. It opened at 199 Friday night and has moved too far toward the Under.

LEAN OVER 195.5 (-105).

Cavaliers at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 106, Cavaliers 104

Moneyline

BET MAGIC (-165).

The Magic played their best basketball at home during the regular season with a 31-12 record. They have won each of their last 6 games at home, including both home games in this series.

The Cavaliers were just 22-21 on the road this season and have lost 5 games in a row on the road.

Against the spread

PASS.

There is better opportunity on the moneyline in a series that has proved to be tight. If anything, the Cavs +3.5 (-105) is worth a look.

Over/Under

BET OVER 200.5 (-110).

These teams have combined for more than 200 points in each of the last 3 games. The Cavs have scored 97 or more in 7 of their last 10 while allowing 103 or more in 7 of their last 10. The Magic have scored 103 or more in 7 of their last 10.
