WATCH: Oregon 4-star RB commit Dante Dowdell runs for 5 TD in playoff game

The Ducks certainly got a good one coming in 4-star RB Dante Dowdell.

If it wasn’t clear before, it’s become pretty obvious that the Oregon Ducks are welcoming a highly talented player to Eugene for the 2023 season.

4-star running back Dante Dowdell, the No. 9 RB in the 2023 class and an Oregon commit since May of 2022, had a massive performance on Friday night in the Picayune Memorial playoff game, rushing for 274 yards and scoring 5 touchdowns.

This is just another in the long ling of stellar performances that Dowdell has put forth in his final high school season, where he’s amassed 1,734 yards and 23 touchdowns on 203 carries, averaging 8.5 yards per rush.

Standing at 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, Dowdell is a bruiser of a running back and he has a close relationship with Oregon RB coach Carlos Locklyn. Dowdell was in Eugene for a visit during the Ducks’ game vs. Washington, which I’m told went very well.

Check out the highlights from his monster game on Friday night.

An early look at Oregon’s standing in 2024 recruiting rankings

The Ducks added a pair of 4-stars to the 2024 class this past week. Where do they now stand early in the 2024 national rankings?

The Oregon Ducks have gotten an early jump on the 2024 recruiting class, and that class was boosted on Thanksgiving Day by the addition of 4-star WR Tyseer Denmark.

Denmark, a Philadelphia native, stands at 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, and is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 14 WR and No. 87 overall player in the 2024 class.

Denmark is the third player to commit to Oregon in 2024, joining 4-star OL Fox Crader, who committed earlier this week, and 4-star TE A.J. Pugliano, the No. 1 ranked player in the state of Oregon.

So where do the Ducks stand in the national rankings after the recent additions? Let’s take an early look at things, according to 247Sports.

4-star DL Johnny Bowens announces commitment to Oregon

Big-time Thanksgiving QUACK for the Ducks. 4-star DL Johnny Bowens is going to be a Duck.

The Oregon Ducks got a massive bump in the recruiting world on Thanksgiving Day, with 4-star defensive lineman Johnny Bowens announcing his verbal commitment.

Bowens, who stands at 6-foot-2, 265 pounds, ranks as the No. 227 player in the 2023 class, and the No. 34 DL. He was previously committed to the Texas A&M Aggies, but de-committed back in June and opened up his recruitment once again.

This is the second commitment that Oregon got on the day. Earlier, 4-star 2024 WR Tyseer Denmark offered his verbal commitment to the Ducks as well.

Bowens has taken several visits to Eugene and developed a close relationship with Dan Lanning and the coaching staff. He now joins the No. 11 recruiting class in the nation at Oregon, which could potentially climb higher in the near future with several prospects yet to commit.

Oregon picks up commitment from 2024 4-star WR Tyseer Denmark

First big commitment for Oregon on Thanksgiving. 4-star 2024 WR Tyseer Denmark is now a Duck. More to come?

The Oregon Ducks scored big in the recruiting world on Thanksgiving Day, getting a commitment from 4-star WR Tyseer Denmark, the No. 14 WR in the 2024 class.

Denmark, who hails from Philadelphia, stands at 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, and is rated by 247Sports as the No. 87 overall player in the 2024 class. He is the second addition to the Ducks’ 2024 class after they were able to add 4-star OL Fox Crader earlier in the week. They also have a commitment from 4-star TE A.J. Pugliano as well.

They currently have the No. 18 class in the 2024 cycle, according to 247Sports.

The WR position was a big area of improvement in the 2023 recruiting class, with 5-star Jurrion Dickey and 4-star Ashton Cozart committing to the Ducks.

Ducks get commitment from 3-star OL Gernorris Wilson

The Ducks picked up another OL in the 2023 class on Wednesday, with 3-star Gernorris Wilson giving his verbal commitment.

The Oregon Ducks got another big body up front in the 2023 recruiting class on Wednesday afternoon, with a verbal commitment from 3-star OT Gernorris Wilson, a 6-foot-5, 285-pounder from Lakeland, Florida.

Wilson is rated by 247Sports as the No. 86 OL and No. 987 overall player in the 2023 class.

Wilson was originally committed to the Auburn Tigers, but he opened up his recruitment after the coaching change saw Bryan Harsin fired. This allowed Oregon OL coach Adrian Klemm to step in and convince Wilson to come on up to Eugene to play for the Ducks.

Wilson plans to take his official visit to Oregon in December.

Ducks pick up prediction to land top-15 WR in 2024 class

The Ducks are getting an early jump on the 2024 recruiting class.

The Oregon Ducks have been working hard to get a head-start on the 2024 recruiting class, and they made some early headway this week by picking up a verbal commitment from 4-star OT Fox Crader.

Now they are also getting a prediction to land top-15 WR Tyseer Denmark, a 4-star player out of Philadelphia.

Denmark is rated by 247Sports as the No. 14 WR in the 2024 class, and No. 87 overall player in the nation. 247Sports National Recruiting Analyst Steve Wiltfong recently placed a prediction for the Ducks to land his commitment just a day after Denmark cut down his recruiting to a top-3 of Oregon, Ohio State, and Penn State.

Ducks land verbal commitment from 4-star OL Fox Crader

Oregon landed a big verbal commitment from 4-star OT Fox Crader, the No. 7 player in Washington for the 2023 class.

The Oregon Ducks got a big commitment on the offensive line for the 2024 class on Monday morning, with 4-star offensive tackle Fox Crader announcing his verbal commitment to the team.

Crader, who stands at 6-foot-6, 275 pounds, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 23 OT and 343 overall player in the 2024 class. Coming from Vancouver, Washington, Crader has been recruited heavily by the Ducks, who wanted to keep him in the Pacific Northwest for his college years.

“Crader plays left tackle and shows good flexibility, a natural knee bend, change of direction and body control,” said 247Sports Recruiting Analyst Brandon Huffman. “His play strength is already solid but as he continues to add more strength and muscle, should be even better in college. He’s good in pass protection and stout in run blocking. Crader just needs to maintain consistency in all phases of blocking and the sky is the limit.

Take a look at who the Ducks are getting in Crader.

Ducks pick up new prediction to flip 5-star OT Kadyn Proctor

The Oregon Ducks have picked up a new prediction to flip 5-star OT Kadyn Proctor after his recent visit to Eugene.

The Oregon Ducks have been picking up steam in the recruiting world as of late, doing their best to try to flip 5-star offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor, who is currently committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Proctor took a visit to Eugene last week for Oregon’s game against the Washington Huskies. Now, a new prediction has come in from On3’s Justin Hopkins for Proctor to flip his commitment from Iowa to Oregon.

Standing at 6-foot-7, 330 pounds, Proctor is rated as the No. 1 OT in the 2023 class. Landing a commitment from him would give the Ducks the No. 1 OT in back to back recruiting classes after getting 5-star Josh Conerly.

We’ll see in the coming days whether this report is true or not, but from my sources, I’ve heard that Proctor enjoyed his visit in Eugene and is still considering the Ducks, though a flip may not be a certainty just yet.

5-star Iowa commit Kadyn Proctor in Eugene for Oregon vs. Washington game

The No. 1 OT in the 2023 class, 5-star Kadyn Proctor, is in Eugene for the Oregon vs. Washington game.

Dan Lanning just has a way of getting big-time visitors in Eugene for some of the biggest games that the Oregon Ducks have on the schedule.

I can now report that 5-star OT Kadyn Proctor, a verbal commit to the Iowa Hawkeyes, is in Eugene for the Oregon vs. Washington game on Saturday afternoon.

This report was kept on the low in the days leading up to the contest.

Proctor, who stands at 6-foot-7, 330 pounds, is ranked as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2023 class, and the No. 7 overall player in the nation.

The Ducks were originally part of Proctor’s top-7 less than a year ago, but he eventually trimmed it down and left Oregon on the outside before committing to the Hawkeyes, his home-state team. Despite that, Dan Lanning, and more importantly, Adrian Klemm, never let up, and they’ve been working hard to get Proctor back on campus this season. It just so happened that he is coming to the northwest for the rivalry environment of Oregon vs. Washington.

It’s hard to say how strongly Proctor is considering a flip to the Ducks, or even considering opening up his recruitment once again. However, the fact that he is taking a visit for this game isn’t nothing. We will keep a close eye on this going forward.

‘We’re still the University of Oregon;’ Dana Altman breaks down No. 7 ranked 2023 recruiting class

Dana Altman signed the No. 7 class in the nation on Wednesday, and went into detail on what each one offers the Ducks.

With the No. 7 ranked recruiting class in the nation putting pen to paper on Wednesday, Oregon Ducks head coach Dana Altman was free to discuss the additions that his team made to the roster this week, and what the incoming players — 5-star KJ Evans, 5-star Mookie Cook, and 4-star Jackson Shelstad — would offer to the team.

With Cook and Shelstad growing up in Oregon, Altman has been recruiting them for a long time, and was finally able to make the addition official this week. As for Evans, one of the top-ranked players in the nation, it was a signing that has been in the works for a couple of years.

When talking to the media on Thursday about the class, Altman broke down what he liked about each player and a little bit about how the recruitment for each one went. He also broke down some of the new recruiting landscape, touching on the impact that NIL has.

Here is everything Altman had to say about recruiting on Thursday:
