Ducks pick up prediction to flip 4-star RB Jayden Limar from Notre Dame

According to a prediction from @JHopkinsSD, the Ducks are in great shape to flip 4-star RB Jayden Limar from Notre Dame.

Over the weekend, a report came out from 247Sports’ Brandon Huffman that the Oregon Ducks were working hard to close in on 4-star running back Jayden Limar, a verbal commitment to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish from the state of Washington.

Now there is a new report out there from Scoop Duck On3’s Justin Hopkins (subscription) for the Ducks to get the job done and officially flip Limar to Oregon.

Standing at 5-foot-11, 190 pounds, Limar is rated as the No. 14 RB in the nation, and the No. 4 player in the state of Washington. This would be a big get for Oregon, who already has a commitment from Caleb Presley, the No. 1 player in Washington, just a year after getting a commitment from Josh Conerly, Washington’s No. 1 player in the 2022 class.

In the coming days and weeks, we will see if the Ducks can officially get the job done, but Hopkins is someone who is well-plugged into this situation and has been fantastic on these predictions. This is one to keep a close eye on.

Elite 4-star Oregon OT target Spencer Fano announces verbal commitment

Elite 4-star Oregon OT target Spencer Fano announces verbal commitment to Utah.

The Oregon Ducks were dealt a brutal recruiting blow on Tuesday, with 4-star OT Spencer Fano announcing that he would commit to the Utah Utes, choosing them over Dan Lanning and the Ducks.

Fano, who stands at 6-foot-5, 270 pounds, is rated as a 4-star recruit, ranked by 247Sports as the No. 57 overall player in the 2023 class, and No. 8 OT in the nation.

Throughout his recruitment, many projected that Fano would end up with the Ducks, as he had an 84% chance to commit to Oregon according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine. However, that took a turn on Tuesday when it was announced that Fano’s older brother, Logan Fano, announced that he would be leaving BYU and entering the transfer portal. The belief now is that the two brothers will choose to play together, likely at Utah, rather than Logan staying at BYU, and Spencer coming to Oregon.

In the end, Lanning and Adrian Klemm were unable to win out over the home-town Utes, and the Ducks will be left looking for a bit more help on the offensive line.

Report: Ducks working hard to flip 4-star RB Jayden Limar ahead of signing day

According to a report from @BrandonHuffman, the Ducks are working hard to flip 4-star RB Jayden Limar, one of the top players in the state of Washington.

It appears that Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks are trying to do some work in the closing weeks of the 2023 recruiting cycle before the early signing period begins.

According to a report from 247Sports’ Brandon Huffman, Carlos Locklyn is in Washington on Saturday night to see 4-star running back Jayden Limar play in the 4A State Championship game. Huffman says that Locklyn and the Ducks are working hard to flip Limar, who is currently committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

We will see over the coming weeks how much ground the Ducks can make up in the pursuit of Limar, but the RB did have Oregon in his final four schools before committing to Notre Dame. It’s clear that he likes the Ducks, so we will watch closely as they try to close the deal.

LOOK: 5-star QB Dante Moore posts picture with Dan Lanning ahead of signing day

Dan Lanning and 5-star QB Dante Moore are hanging out in Detroit, bringing joy to Duck fans.

For the Oregon Duck fans who were feeling nervous about the commitment of 5-star quarterback Dante Moore after the departure of offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham, it’s time to take a small sigh of relief.

No, Moore has not signed his letter of intent yet, but his recent affirmations about his commitment to Oregon, mixed with this recent picture of himself with Ducks head coach Dan Lanning on a recruiting visit, seem to be reaffirming.

Lanning is in Detroit on Friday night to see Moore for a visit ahead of the early signing period, which starts on December 21. There is obviously a lot to talk about between the two, as Lanning is likely giving Moore the scoop on who the Ducks plan to hire as the next OC, a hiring that is expected to be announced in the next couple of days.

Oregon’s 4-star CB commit Caleb Presley announces visit to Washington

4-star CB Caleb Presley, the third-highest-rated commit in Oregon’s 2023 class, will be taking an official visit to the in-state Washington Huskies.

It may be time for Oregon Duck fans to batten down the hatches and hold on as hard as they can when it comes to the recruitment of 4-star cornerback Caleb Presley, the third-highest-rated commit in Oregon’s 2023 class.

Presley, the No. 13 CB in the 2023 class and No. 168 overall player in the nation, has been committed to Oregon since July, but the Washington native has been seeing a strong push from his hometown Huskies in the past month, and the elite CB will be taking an official visit to Washington this coming weekend.

Presley is a core member of Oregon’s 2023 class, which is currently ranked No. 12 in 247Sports national recruiting rankings.

With Washington’s strong finish to the season, which included a win over Oregon in Eugene, and the likelihood that they will play in the Rose Bowl this year, it’s not hard to see why they’re growing as an appealing destination for a young in-state player. With the Huskies’ knack for developing defensive back talent, it’s clear that they have some juice in Presley’s recruitment.

We will see if they are able to flip Presley before early signing day on December 21, but this is something that Oregon fans need to watch closely.

4-star Malachi Coleman, No. 4 ATH in 2023, decommits from Nebraska

Malachi Coleman, the No. 68 player in the 2023 class, is back on the market. He had Oregon in his top 7 before committing to Nebraska.

One of the main storylines to keep an eye on in college football over the next couple of weeks is certain players decommitting and opening up their recruitment ahead of early signing day.

Sometimes it will be because of other offers, sometimes it will be because of a new coaching staff that was hired, one in which they didn’t have the connection with in their recruitment.

For 4-star athlete Malachi Coleman, that may be the case. Coleman, the No. 4 ATH in the 2023 class and No. 68 overall player in the nation, committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers back in October of this year. However, Nebraska has since undergone a coaching change and brought in Matt Rhule to lead things.

Coleman announced his de-commitment on Thursday.

For the Oregon Ducks, this is something to pay attention to. They were originally once of the teams after this elite athlete and landed in his top 7 before Coleman committed to Nebraska.

Does that mean that they will land him again? Not for sure, but you can guess that Dan Lanning is at the very least going to be checking back in.

Top-ranked JUCO OL lists Ducks in top-12 ahead of commitment

Top-ranked JUCO OL lists Ducks in top-12 ahead of commitment

It appears that Adrian Klemm is looking to land a big-time junior college offensive lineman once again.

Keyshawn Blackstock, the No. 1 rated JUCO IOL and No. 3 overall JUCO player in the nation, recently listed his top-12 schools, including the Oregon Ducks among them. It appears that the Ducks are in a great position to add Blackstock to the 2023 recruiting class, given a 55.4% chance of landing him according to On3.

The Ducks already have a commitment from 4-star JUCO lineman George Silva, who is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 JUCO OT in the class. We will see in the coming weeks or months if Klemm is able to land another big body on the offensive line.

Former 4-star Oregon commit Avantae Williams enters transfer portal, leaves Miami Hurricanes

Avantae Williams was committed to Oregon for a year before changing course and committing to Miami. Now he’s back on the open market.

Another interesting name popped up in the transfer portal this week, with it being announced that Miami Hurricanes safety Avatae Williams, a former 4-star recruit, would be looking for a new team this offseason.

Williams is a former Oregon Ducks commit, offering his verbal to Mario Cristobal back in December of 2018 before changing his mind a year later and de-committing in December of 2019, choosing instead to enroll at Miami.

During his three years with the Hurricanes, Williams has had a bit of success, but hasn’t quite seen the field as much as you’d think he would like. He didn’t play in any games in his first year, and has just 15 games played in the past two seasons as well.

This is an interesting name to keep an eye on in the portal. While there is nothing I could find that tied Williams to Dan Lanning during his recruitment, it’s clear that Williams was once a big fan of the Ducks, and Oregon will likely need to retool at the safety position this year and add some talent.

Does that mean Lanning will go after Williams in the portal? I don’t know. I just know that there are a lot of connections between the two at the moment, and it’s a name to keep an eye on.

2024 4-star safety Peyton Woodyard puts Oregon Ducks in top 7, sets commitment date

2024 4-star safety Peyton Woodyard puts Oregon Ducks in top 7, sets commitment date.

The Oregon Ducks look to be in a good position to add to their already impressive 2024 recruiting class.

Over the weekend, 4-star safety Peyton Woodyard, the No. 2 safety and No. 29 overall rated player in the 2024 class, announced his top 7 schools, listing Oregon among them.

Woodyard is a player at St. John Bosco in California, one of the premier schools in the nation. Woodyard set a commitment date for the 7the of January, where he will announce where he’s going at the All-American game.

So far, Oregon has three commitments in the 2024 class; 4-star TE A.J. Pugliano, 4-star OT Fox Crader, and 4-star WR Tyseer Denmark.

Oregon’s 5-star QB commit Dante Moore posts message to former OC Kenny Dillingham

Oregon’s 5-star QB commit Dante Moore had an encouraging message for Kenny Dillingham as the Ducks’ OC heads to ASU to take the HC job.

One of the biggest questions that Oregon Duck fans have now that former offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham has taken the head coaching job for the Arizona State Sun Devils is whether or not the departure will have an impact on recruiting.

More importantly, will Dillingham’s absence have an impact on the commitment of 5-star quarterback Dante Moore, the No. 2 rated QB in the 2023 class.

While the two had a close relationship that was built during the recruiting process, a recent tweet from Moore might suggest that he isn’t planning to move on from the Ducks simply because the main recruiter that brought him to Eugene is no longer there.

On Sunday morning, Moore sent a message, “Go be great Dilly #Goat” to the new ASU HC.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that Moore will stay committed to the Ducks, although some comments from him after winning the state championship game on Saturday night in Detroit indicate that he is still locked in with Oregon. However, it does likely show that he isn’t planning on flipping to Arizona State any time soon.

We will learn more in the coming weeks with early signing day right around the corner.
