SIGNED: 4-star safety Tyler Turner is officially a Duck

4-star safety Tyler Turner put pen to paper on Wednesday, officially becoming a Duck.

The Oregon Ducks were able to get a great defensive piece to put pen to paper on Wednesday morning, with 4-star safety Tyler Turner officially signing his national letter of intent and becoming a Duck.

Turner, who is rated as the No. 35 safety in the 2023 class and No. 372 overall player, will come to Eugene with a chance to fight for playing time in a position group where there are a number of bodies, but no clear cut options to take over as the starter after Bennett Williams heads off to the NFL.

We will see if Turner is able to make any traction through spring ball and over the summer, but I expect him to see the field in special teams at the very least in 2023.

SIGNED: 4-star athlete Kenyon Sadiq is officially an Oregon Duck

Oregon was able to sign one of the best athletes in the country with Idaho’s Kenyon Sadiq.

It’s unusual to find one of the best athletes in the state of Idaho, but here we are.

Kenyon Sadiq, out of Idaho Falls, is one of those athletic players that can play almost anywhere he wants on a football field. At 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, Sadiq is projected to be a tight end once he arrives in Eugene. But he could end up as a linebacker. It all depends on where the Ducks happen to need him.

All of the recruiting services say Sadiq is the No. 1 player in Idaho and a Top 5 athlete in the nation. Oregon was able to beat out Michigan and Iowa State for Sadiq’s services and his rise up the depth chart, whether it be on offense or defense, should be an interesting story once the 2023 season arrives.

Signing Day Tracker: An updated list of players who have signed with the Oregon Ducks

An updated look at the latest players to officially sign with the Oregon Ducks.

Over the last year plus, college coaches around the nation have been working hard to piece together their 2023 recruiting class, making visits across the nation and breaking down tape of players that they want to bring into their program.

They’ve gotten a lot of commitments, and many have even seen a handful of de-commitments and flips at this point in the year. However, Wednesday is finally the day when pen can be put to paper, and these players can make it official.

Welcome to Early Signing Day.

Over the next 76 hours, recruits will have a chance to sign their national letters of intent and become a part of the new team. For the Oregon Ducks, it is expected to be a great day, with Dan Lanning looking to sign a top 15 class in the nation for his first full recruiting cycle with the Ducks.

Here’s an updated list of all the players to sign with Oregon:

SIGNED: 3-star defensive back Collin Gill is officially a Duck

3-star defensive back Collin Gill officially signed on to be an Oregon Duck Wednesday morning.

Defensive back Collin Gill is just another example of how this coaching staff under Dan Lanning is recruiting the entire country in order to find talent.

Gill is from the Washington D.C./Maryland area and when he verbally committed to the Ducks this past summer, he said the style of defense Oregon plays was really the determining factor.

He was recruited by most of the schools back east such as Boston College and Appalachian State. Ole Miss and Washington State made a late push for Gill, but he stuck with his commitment to go to Eugene. Gill will join a fairly crowded, young, but very talented secondary room at Oregon.

Ducks flip 4-star QB Austin Novasad from Baylor Bears

A massive win for Dan Lanning and Oregon OC Will Stein. The Ducks have pulled off the flip and landed former Baylor commit Austin Novosad, the No. 9 QB in the nation.

The Oregon Ducks made a splash in the recruiting world on Wednesday, pulling off a flip that gets their quarterback room back in order after losing 5-star QB Dante Moore to the UCLA Bruins earlier in the week.

4-star quarterback Austin Novosad, the No. 9 QB and No. 86 overall player in the 2023 class, has announced that he will flip his commitment from the Baylor Bears and instead join the Ducks going forward. Novosad has a long-standing relationship with Oregon’s new offensive coordinator Will Stein, and once Stein came to Eugene and a spot at the QB position opened up, the wheels were in motion for the Ducks to pull off this flip.

With Bo Nix returning for the 2023 season, Novosad will be able to likely redshirt as a freshman and pick up some valuable experience from the veteran who projects to be a Heisman Trophy candidate this season. Going forward, Novosad could be in competition for the starting job in 2024.

The Ducks were dealt a tough blow on Monday when Moore announced that he would flip to UCLA, but Dan Lanning and his staff did a great job of quickly pivoting and finding a way to still get a win at the end of the day.

Flurry of late predictions come in for Ducks to land 5-star EDGE Matayo Uiagalelei

The Ducks are making noise. They are now receiving a flurry of predictions to land 5-star EDGE Matayo Uiagalelei.

It’s starting to look like the Oregon Ducks are getting set to make a splash on Wednesday when the Early Signing Period opens up.

A flurry of late predictions now has come in for the Ducks to land a commitment from 5-star EDGE Matayo Uiagalelei, the No. 2 EDGE and No. 17 overall player in the 2023 class. The Ducks have been recruiting Uiagalelei hard over the past year, but the thought was that it was either Ohio State or USC that led for his commitment.

However, it appears that the Ducks may be getting a boost late. A pair of predictions from On3 came in on Tuesday night for Matayo to commit to Oregon, and 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong also logged a prediction for the Ducks as well.

We will see on Wednesday where Uiagaelei ends up committing in the end.

Texas OL Junior Angilau commits to Oregon Ducks

Oregon is cleaning up in the transfer portal this year, now adding former Texas OL Junior Angilau to the haul of veteran additions.

The Oregon Ducks continue to clean up in the transfer portal this offseason, adding another big-time addition, this time on the offensive line with former Texas Longhorns OL Junior Angilau.

Angilau is a veteran player who missed the 2022 season in Texas because of an injury, but before that he had started in 34 games over the previous three seasons, being named a Second-Team Big-12 Preseason All-American leading up to the 2022 season.

Angilau took a visit to Oregon over the weekend and reports coming out show that it went very well, with the veteran OL and the staff creating a solid relationship. With his size and experience, Angilau projects to be in line to compete for a starting spot right away and help rebuild the Oregon offensive line after losing four of their five starters from the 2022 season.

Angilau is the fourth player that the Ducks have added through the transfer portal, joining Alabama WR Traeshon Holden, Alabama CB Khyree Jackson, and Iowa LB Jestin Jacobs. Rhode Island OT Ajani Cornelius is set to announce his commitment on Wednesday afternoon as well, with the Ducks in the running as a finalist.

Ducks pick up new predictions to flip 4-star QB Austin Novosad from Baylor

Things are heating up for the Ducks as we head into the early signing day. Flip watch is officially on.

With the news on Monday that 5-star quarterback Dante Moore was going to flip his commitment from the Oregon Ducks to the UCLA Bruins, a lot of fans started to wonder what Dan Lanning and his staff were going to do going forward.

It has since become clear that the staff has been working on a contingency plan for a bit now, knowing that there was a chance that Moore was going to flip. That plan may be working.

A pair of 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions came in on Tuesday night that show Baylor Bears’ 4-star QB Austin Novosad, the No. 9 QB in the 2023 class, is likely to flip to the Ducks.

Novosad has a relationship with new Oregon offensive coordinator Will Stein, and the two have kept in touch since Stein came to Eugene.

With Bo Nix returning for the 2023 season, it has become clear that the Ducks are set at the starting QB spot for this season, but they need players to fill out that room and compete for the starting job in 2024. Should they be able to pull off the flip from Baylor and land Novosad, who is the No. 86 overall player in the 2023 class, it would be an impressive pivot from Lanning and his staff after suffering a blow with the Moore decommitment.

5-star OT Kadyn Proctor announces college commitment

5-star OT Kadyn Proctor announced on Tuesday that he is flipping from the Iowa Hawkeyes, joining Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide.

The Oregon Ducks gave a valiant effort in the recruitment of five-star offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor. In the end, Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide earned the last laugh.

Proctor, the No. 1 OT in the 2023 class, announced on Tuesday he was flipping his commitment from the Iowa Hawkeyes to Alabama.

It had been believed for the past couple of weeks that Proctor would flip, but the destination was originally believed to be Oregon. Proctor had developed a nice relationship with both Adrian Klemm and Dan Lanning. However, Proctor took a visit to Alabama over the past weekend, when the Crimson Tide were able to lock up his commitment.

There remain a number of OT options for the Ducks this offseason, including a number of transfer portal players that could announce their commitment on Wednesday.

Recruiting Watch: Potential Oregon flips and commitments a day out from early signing period

The next 24 hours are going to be active for Duck fans. Here are some names to keep an eye on for potential flips or commitments.

We are a day away from the early signing period getting started in the world of college football, which means in the next 24 hours, a bunch of high school prospects are going to be putting pen to paper and letting it be known where they are going to start their college careers.

While there are still a number of uncommitted prospects who are likely to make their final decisions known, some of the biggest fireworks on Wednesday could end up coming from top recruits who are committed to one school, but announce they are flipping to another.

It’s flip season, and the Oregon Ducks were on the wrong end of Monday morning’s news that five-star quarterback Dante Moore was flipping his commitment to UCLA.

We expect the Ducks to sign a star-studded class on Wednesday based on the guys who are committed and locked into the program, and there’s a chance it could get even better with a couple of late additions Oregon is working hard to get.

A few days ago we laid out a number of potential candidates to flip for Oregon. Let’s take another look at that list with early signing day knocking on the door, and discuss a few of the uncommitted prospects and players in the transfer portal who could be making a decision as well.
