2025 4-Star WR Emmanuel Choice projected to land with Oklahoma Sooners

The Oklahoma Sooners continue to make noise on the wide receiver front, earning a prediction for 2025 4-star WR Emmanuel Choice.

The Oklahoma Sooners look to be closing in on another wide receiver prospect in the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag]. The Sooners already have Elijah Thomas, Gracen Harris, and, most recently, Marcus Harris committed for 2025. Oklahoma also appears to be the favorite for four-star prospect Cortez Mills.

But on Saturday, the Sooners were predicted to land another four-star wide receiver. This time, [autotag]Emmanuel Choice[/autotag] out of Lancaster, Texas. Brandon Drumm of OUInsider and Rivals issued a Rivals Futurecast favoring the Sooners late Saturday night.

Choice is considered a four-star prospect by On3 and is the No. 36 wide receiver in the class. At 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds, Choice has the size to be an big-time player at the collegiate level. He’s got good athleticism and displays fantastic body control when playing the ball in the air.

He holds offers from 23 Power Four programs, including notable schools like Missouri, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, USC, Tennessee, and Texas.

Oklahoma Sooners favored to land 2025 4-star WR Cortez Mills

The Oklahoma Sooners appear to have made a strong impression on four-star wide receiver Cortez Mills.

The Oklahoma Sooners have built quite the wide receiver depth chart under position coach [autotag]Emmitt Jones[/autotag] in his year and a half in Norman.

In the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag], the Sooners have already added [autotag]Gracen Harris[/autotag], [autotag]Elijah Thomas[/autotag] and most recently [autotag]Marcus Harris[/autotag]. Now, the Sooners may be closing in on another target, four-star wide receiver Cortez Mills.

Mills was recently in Norman for an official visit with the Sooners, and while he was at one point projected to land with Clemson, it looks like Oklahoma has taken a lead in his recruitment.

Parker Thune and Brandon Drumm of OU Insider and Rivals issued futurecasts favoring Oklahoma for the four-star prospect out of South Florida.

Mills is a natural at wide receiver. He displays a great understanding of how to attack zone coverage, finding soft spots and slowing his route to give his quarterback an option against zone. He displays enough speed to get behind the defense. Mills has soft hands and shows the ability to play above the defender to make contested catches. He has good contact balance, creating yards after the catch to create big plays in the passing game.

Mills was expected to take an official visit to Miami, but after meeting with the Sooners, he took to social media to announce he’d no longer be taking the trip to South Beach.

He’s a top 200 prospect across the board and considered the No. 69 player in the 2025 recruiting class by Rivals. On3 and ESPN have him inside the top 110 in the nation.

Mills holds 27 Power Four offers, including nine from SEC schools. This will be a recruitment to watch as Jones and the Sooners made a strong impression during his official visit.

Oklahoma Sooners earn commitment from 4-star WR Marcus Harris

The Oklahoma Sooners added another blue-chip prospect to the 2025 recruiting class with the commitment of 4-star WR Marcus Harris.

The Oklahoma Sooners wide receiver group continues to fill out for the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag]. After hosting [autotag]Marcus Harris[/autotag] on an official visit over the weekend, the four-star prospect out of Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Ca. has committed to the Sooners.

Harris is considered a top 250 prospect across the board and is a consensus four-star wide receiver, ranking inside the top 30 at the position by each of the four major recruiting sites. ESPN has him ranked the highest, coming in as the No. 10 wide receiver and the No. 118 player overall in the 2025 class.

It’s another big recruiting win for Oklahoma and wide receivers coach [autotag]Emmett Jones[/autotag] as Harris chose the Sooners over offers from Georgia, Tennessee, UCLA, and Oregon. He held 26 Power Four offers, with 11 coming from SEC programs.

Harris shows a great understanding of how to play the wide receiver position. He shows fantastic quickness and does a great job setting up the defender to create separation out of his breaks. He’s a tough player at the catch point, showing really good concentration in contested catch situations. Harris also displays the ability to adjust to the ball in the air, coming back for the ball or adjusting his route to get his hands to the ball and bring in the catch.

He was primarily used as an outside wide receiver, but shows the necessary traits, like quickness, route running, and toughness to be a threat out of the slot as well.

Harris joins a class that includes wide receivers, [autotag]Elijah Thomas[/autotag] and [autotag]Gracen Harris[/autotag].

The commitment puts the Oklahoma Sooners just in front of the USC Trojans in the 247Sports team recruiting rankings for the 2025 cycle.

Oklahoma the leader for 2026 four-star quarterback Jaden O’Neal

The Oklahoma Sooners have a long history of impressive quarterback play since the beginning of the [autotag]Bob Stoops[/autotag] era. From [autotag]Josh Heupel[/autotag] to [autotag]Dillon Gabriel[/autotag], and regardless of the offensive play-caller, the Sooners have had a number of dynamic passers at the position.

And that’s helped them recruit at an incredibly high level. And despite the change in offensive coordinator this offseason, it doesn’t appear OU’s quarterback recruiting prowess is slowing down any time soon.

The Sooners look like a significant leader at the moment for four-star quarterback prospect [autotag]Jaden O’Neal[/autotag]. O’Neal, who just spent time in Norman at the [autotag]Brent Venables Football Camp[/autotag], told Rivals’ Marshall Levenson that the Sooners are his No. 1 team at the moment.

It’s still very early in the recruiting process for the [autotag]2026 recruiting class[/autotag], and O’Neal is being pursued by big-name programs from across the country. O’Neal mentioned that he has trips to Michigan and Ohio State upcoming. Given the success of those two programs in recent years, the Sooners will have to hold off the Big Ten powers to land their 2026 quarterback.

O’Neal is considered a top-10 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class, but with his size and ability, he has a chance to be one of the top players at his position in the class.

More: Jaden O’Neal projected to land with the Oklahoma Sooners

O’Neal was in Norman back in April before attending the Venables camp last week. He put on a show with his passing display and it’s clear he and the Sooners have hit it off.

Sooners target, 4-star EDGE C.J. Nickson down to two schools

247Sports No. 1 player in the state of Oklahoma named the Sooners and Oklahoma State Cowboys the top programs in his recruitment.

The Oklahoma Sooners are continuing to build momentum with prospects in the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag]. On Wednesday, the Sooners made the top four for Rivals four-star prospect Darius Afalava. Today, one the top prospect in the state of Oklahoma, [autotag]C.J. Nickson[/autotag], narrowed his priority programs to two schools.

It’s a Sooner State recruiting battle for Nickson, who named Oklahoma and Oklahoma State as his top two schools, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Out of Weatherford, Okla., Nickson is a consensus four-star prospect. He’s considered the No. 74 player in the nation, No. 9 edge rusher, and the No. 1 player in the state of Oklahoma per 247Sports. The On3 Industry Ranking has him as the No. 5 athlete.

A standout basketball player, Nickson also has an offer from [autotag]Porter Moser[/autotag] and the Oklahoma Basketball program.

Nickson has great athleticism and quickness to be dynamic off the edge. His length will give opposing offensive tackles fits and shows strong pass rush technique.

Nickson holds 12 offers and has long been considered an Oklahoma lean. Predictions from On3, 247Sports, and Rivals each favor the Sooners in his recruitment.

Sooners make top 4 for 2025 4-star OL Darius Afalava

After hosting him on his official visit, the Oklahoma Sooners make top four for Rivals four-star offensive lineman Darius Afalava.

Much like defensive line recruiting did for the 2024 cycle, offensive line is taking center stage for the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag]. The Oklahoma Sooners currently have two offensive linemen committed to the class, offensive tackle [autotag]Ryan Fodje[/autotag] and interior offensive line prospect [autotag]Owen Hollenbeck[/autotag].

As the Sooners continue to press for some of the five-star prospects in the class, they have also zeroed in on Rivals four-star prospect [autotag]Darius Afalava[/autotag]. Afalava is considered the top player in the state of Utah by Rivals and the No. 25 interior offensive line prospect. ESPN has Afalava ranked as the No. 19 player at his position.

On Wednesday, the Lehi, Utah native included the Oklahoma Sooners in his top four along with the Utah Utes, Michigan State Spartans, and Washington Huskies.

He has 24 offers with notable programs like Michigan, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, UCLA, Oregon, Stanford, Ole Miss, Nebraska, and LSU pursuing Afalava as well.

Afalava is 6-foot-5 and according to On3, weighs 280 pounds. He recently spent time with the Oklahoma Sooners on his official visit and left with a positive impression of [autotag]Brent Venables[/autotag] program.

The Oklahoma Sooners are in a great spot in their pursuit of Afalava, who would provide another strong and athletic interior offensive line prospect for [autotag]Bill Bedenbaugh[/autotag] to work with.

Rivals analysts believe 5-star DB Jonah Williams will land at Texas A&M

According to a pair of Rivals recruiting analysts, the Oklahoma Sooners look to be trailing Texas A&M for 2025 five-star safety.

Every recruiting cycle there are high profile recruitments that take center stage. They can vary from program to program, but the blue-blood schools regularly find themselves in these high-leverage recruiting battles. In the 2023 cycle, it was the battle with Notre Dame for five-star safety [autotag]Peyton Bowen[/autotag]. In the 2024 cycle, it was the [autotag]David Stone[/autotag] recruitment.

In the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag], it’s another five-star defender who’s become the name to watch for the Oklahoma Sooners, and that’s [autotag]Jonah Williams[/autotag].

Williams was long considered to be leaning toward the Oklahoma Sooners, even with several predictions favoring OU. But not long after those predictions, the tide began to turn, and several other schools began to make up ground. The team that seems to have made the biggest move is Texas A&M, with new head coach Mike Elko. According to Marshall Levenson and Landyn Rossow of Rivals, it looks like the Aggies’ recruitment to lose. In their latest round of Fact or Fiction, they believe Williams will be the five-star to commit to Texas A&M.

Williams has been linked to Texas A&M more than any other five-star and Williams has continued to show Aggie faithful plenty of love. Williams also loves the baseball team in College Station, and has a special bond with Mike Elko. In the midst of a visit that appears to be going smoothly, the Aggies are looking to be in prime position to reel in the five-star defender. – Rossow, Aggies Insider for Rivals

This feels like a recruitment that could come down to signing day, but with several predictions favoring Texas A&M and what Levenson and Rossow have to say, the Aggies appear to be the leaders at this point in the recruiting cycle.

But as we’ve seen in [autotag]Brent Venables[/autotag]’ short tenure with the Sooners, you can’t count them out of any recruiting battle.

2026 Quarterback Dereon Coleman includes Oklahoma in top 8

The Oklahoma Sooners continue to trend in a positive direction for 2026 four-star quarterback Dereon Coleman.

The Oklahoma Sooners quarterback prospects for the 2026 recruiting class are coming together. This week, they were projected to land four-star quarterback Jaden O’Neal out of California. But prior to O’Neal beginning to trend to the Sooners, OU was heavily projected to land another four-star quarterback, [autotag]Dereon Coleman[/autotag].

Coleman, who spent time at Brent Venables Football Camp this week, is a four-star player according to the 247Sports composite rankings. On Thursday, he dropped his top eight schools at this point in his recruitment.

He included the Oklahoma Sooners, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Illinois, UCF, TCU, and Nebraska.

Of Oklahoma, Coleman told John Garcia of Rivals, “A dream offer. A staff that truly believes in my abilities. The tradition of the program. The fans. It felt like home on my visit. Why not OU?”

Coleman is a slender quarterback, but has good height and throws the football really well. He’s got a good deep ball and great accuracy. He’s mobile and his sophomore tape shows really good awareness.

It looks promising for the Oklahoma Sooners in their recruitment of Coleman with predictions from 247Sports, Rivals, and On3 each favoring the Sooners. There’s still a long way to go in the 2026 recruiting cycle, but the Sooners are in a great spot at this point.

Sooners No. 7 in ESPN’s recruiting class rankings for 2025

The Oklahoma Sooners have several high-profile recruitments still underway, but they’re in a great spot already in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Recruiting is certainly a strong point for the Oklahoma Sooners under [autotag]Brent Venables[/autotag]. On both sides of the ball, OU has landed blue chip prospects, including five-star players [autotag]Jackson Arnold[/autotag] (2023), [autotag]Adepoju Adebawore[/autotag] (2023), [autotag]Peyton Bowen[/autotag] (2023), and [autotag]David Stone[/autotag] (2024).

It’s set the stage for the Sooners to contend when they make their move into the SEC. In the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag], the Sooners are already off to a great start with the summer recruiting season approaching. With 15 commitments, the Sooners sit No. 3 in the nation and No. 1 in the SEC in 247Sports team recruiting rankings.

And the Sooners are well within the top 10 of ESPN’s top 25 recruiting classes (ESPN+) for the 2025 cycle.

The Sooners’ first official class as a member of the SEC already has a strong foundation. It’s anchored by offensive firepower, including a pair of ESPN 300 wide receivers in [autotag]Elijah Thomas[/autotag] and [autotag]Gracen Harris[/autotag]. Harris is quick and has good hands. Thomas, an in-state commit, is a precise route-runner and offers a wide catch radius. Running back [autotag]Tory Blaylock[/autotag] can be an electric playmaker with excellent speed — he has registered a max speed north of 21 mph in games.

The Sooners stayed in-state to land [autotag]Kevin Sperry[/autotag] at QB. He has a quick release and good accuracy and threw for over 2,500 yards and completed 68% of his passes as a junior. In-state defensive end [autotag]Alexander Shieldnight[/autotag] has first-step quickness and active hands and tallied 11 sacks as a junior. While much of their class hails from OU’s primary recruiting base, [autotag]Trent Wilson[/autotag] was a nice win out of Maryland. He’s a defensive lineman with good initial quickness as well as agility, and he can be an active presence in the trenches. – Craig Haubert, ESPN

It’s a class that’s equally impressive on defense as it is on offense. Sperry has the chance to be every bit as impactful as the quarterbacks that Oklahoma’s brought on board over the last few years under Venables. His low-key recruitment has been an asset for the Sooners. With their quarterback committed, and helping peer recruit, the Sooners have been able to focus their efforts on an offensive line class that is as elite as 2024’s defensive line class was.

Even though Oklahoma’s experienced coordinator changes on both sides of the ball, they’ve continued to recruit at an incredibly high level. And with high-profile recruitments still to be decided along the offensive line and with five-star safety [autotag]Jonah Williams[/autotag], the Sooners have a chance to add another impactful class to the depth chart in 2025.

There’s still a long way to go in the 2025 cycle, but the Sooners are in a great spot. Any concerns about Brent Venables and his staff’s ability to recruit at Oklahoma are long gone.

Sooners land commitment from of 2025 four-star CB Courtland Guillory

Oklahoma continues their success on the recruiting trail landing a commitment from 2025 four-star cornerback Courtland Guillory.

Jay Valai has been a pretty productive recruiter during his time as the Sooners cornerbacks coach. He has recruited a number of four-star players to Norman, reshaping the cornerback depth chart in the process.

On Sunday, Valai nailed down another talented cornerback prospect. [autotag]Courtland Guillory[/autotag], a four-star cornerback from Klein Oak, Texas, announced his commitment to the Oklahoma Sooners.

The talented corner chose the Sooners over Texas, Texas A&M and UCF.

Guillory is rated No. 364 overall in the[autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag]. The four-star also ranks as the No. 31 cornerback in the nation and a top-60 player in Texas.

He excels using his long frame to disrupt plays and clog throwing windows. He is 6-feet tall and uses every inch to his advantage. He’s a physical player for the position, and he looks to put a significant hit on the ball carrier. Guillory does a great job tracking the football in the air and times his attack well.

247Sports scouting analyst Gabe Brooks believes he can improve his quick-twitch athleticism, which would help raise his ceiling as a player. He’s undoubtedly a high-major football player, and the Sooners will try to realize the rest of his potential,

Guillory has long been one of the top corners on Oklahoma’s board for 2025. Oklahoma offered in January and has been in the mix since. In recent weeks, a number of predictions favored the Sooners. Now he pledged to the Sooners, joining the No. 6 recruiting class in the nation.

He becomes the third defensive back to join the Sooners for 2025, along with[autotag]Marcus Wimberly[/autotag] and[autotag]Maliek Hawkins[/autotag]. Both committed earlier this spring. With Guillory in the fold, the Sooners turn their attention to defensive backs [autotag]Cobey Sellers[/autotag], [autotag]Jonah Williams[/autotag] and [autotag]Omarion Robinson[/autotag].
