At -600 odds, Oklahoma is the clear favorite. Facing a Bearcats team that fell in OT the previous week to a much lesser Miami (Ohio) opponent, the Sooners should easily take this game.

Against the spread

BET OKLAHOMA -14 (-110).

Last week, 2 things happened to support this bet.

First, Oklahoma’s offense looked phenomenal. Eleven different receivers pulled in passes — 3 of them eclipsed 100 yards. The Sooners’ strength is their passing game. They rank 6th in the country with 358.0 passing yards per game.

Second, is the liability that lies in the Cincinnati defense. It allowed 3 passing TDs in the loss to Miami (Ohio), including a 79-yard TD on the 1st play of the game. The previous week against Pitt, Cincy they also allowed 3 TDs. Against a high-powered Oklahoma offense, do not expect UC to stay in this game for long.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 56.5 (-110).

While the Oklahoma offense has looked great, so has its defense. Holding opponents to just 28 combined points in its first 3 games, a total of 56.5 seems too high to reasonably bet. Even though the Sooners (-715) should secure the win on Saturday, go ahead and AVOID the moneyline in this matchup. Backing a -715 favorite is never advised given the minimal return you’ll receive if it comes away with the victory.

Against the spread

BET OKLAHOMA -15.5 (-110).

The Sooners were dominant against Arkansas State in their season opener and the defense showed more promise than a season ago. Gabriel also looks more comfortable under center for Oklahoma, which should lead to another easy win for the Sooners in Week 2.

Over/Under

OVER 69 (-110) is the play in this contest despite it being such a high total. The Sooners shouldn’t struggle to move the ball against the Mustangs and SMU can score enough points late to hit the Over.

The Sooners hit the Over themselves in Week 1 and they could put up 50 to 60-plus points against a Mustangs defense that surrendered 35.3 points per game in 2022. SMU held Louisiana Tech to only 14 points in Week 1, but that isn’t the same competition as Oklahoma.

Only play this if you do not play the Wildcats on the moneyline. K-State is 7-1 ATS in its last 8 Tuesday games. Oklahoma is 0-4 ATS in its last 4 overall. If these trends continue, an outright win is a certainty. I will save the .15 of juice and wager the ML for this reason.

Over/Under

TAKE OVER 140.5 (-115).

Oklahoma is good at coming back after a bad loss. In the past 5 instances where Oklahoma lost at home by double-digits, the Sooners game has gone Over in the next one.

K-State has also gone Over the total in 6 of its last 7 road games and have also gone Over in 14 of 17 road games against a team with a winning home record.
