Five things we learned from Michigan’s throttling of Ohio State in the second half

If you’re still alive and kicking, here are five depressing things we took from Ohio State’s embarrassing loss to Michigan on Saturday. #GoBucks

Things looked great for a while, but Ohio State shot itself in the foot far too often and fell apart in the second half. The result is a second straight embarrassing loss to the rival from up north, Michigan. The Wolverines put the throttle down in the second half and beat the Buckeyes, 45-23.

It’s the first loss of the season for Ohio State, but it’s a crucial one that will keep the Buckeyes out of Indianapolis and likely out of the College Football Playoff.

At the end of the day, a season in Columbus is measured by championships and wins against Michigan, and it’s now two straight years Ohio State and Ryan Day have failed to get that done.

We like to reflect upon what we saw each Ohio State football game, and here are five depressing and troubling things we saw in the game on Saturday — read at your own peril.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are in a tight one with the Michigan Wolverines to the tune of 20-17 and C.J. Stroud has had all day to pass completing 17 of his 24 attempts for 191 yards and two touchdowns. Marvin Harrison Jr. has had a decent day with three receptions for 79 yards and a touchdown so far.

Ohio State was losing and very much looking like they were going to let this game slip away before Stroud found Harrison for the 42 yards touchdown pass that gave them the lead before the half. Let’s take a dive into what social media had to say about the connection to give the Buckeyes the momentum back heading into halftime.

Well, that didn’t take long. Ohio State marched down the field handing Michigan a balanced diet of both the run and pass. On third and goal, C.J. Stroud found Emeka Egbuka on a crossing route in the endzone while Michigan defenders were focused on Marvin Harrison Jr.

Pick your poison I guess.

It was the start the Buckeyes needed with the Wolverines choosing to defer to the second half. Miyan Willams started the game and then Chip Trayanum spelled him to get some big runs as well.

Now time to see how healthy Blake Corum is as the Buckeyes head to defense.

Ohio State football vs. Michigan: Stream, injury report, broadcast info for Saturday

Looking for how to watch ‘The Game’ between Ohio State and Michigan Saturday? Here’s how to find it along with key players and injury information. #TheGame #GoBucks

Well, here we go. After a year of hearing about the first loss to Michigan in nearly a decade, it’s time for the Ohio State football team to try and get the universe back in balance.

As always, this one will have national interest, but there’s even more buildup this year because of the ramifications it’ll have with the College Football Playoff. It’s a top-three matchup with No. 2 Ohio State hosting No. 3 Michigan, and the winner will be included in a ton more fun in the weeks ahead.

We know you’ll be tuned into this one, and because of that, we’ve got everything you need to know to find ‘The Game.’ Whether you want to watch, stream, or just get to know some key players and injury news, we have it covered.

Let’s have a fun ride and here’s to hoping for a scarlet-and gray-colored kind of day.

Michigan running back Blake Corum injury status updated for Ohio State

We have our answer on whether or not Michigan running back Blake Corum will play against Ohio State. How do you feel about this development? #GoBucks #TheGame

Probably the biggest question surrounding the leadup to ‘The Game’ between Ohio State and Michigan has been the health of Wolverines running back Blake Corum. He suffered a knee injury against Illinois last week and had to leave the game in the first half, immediately grabbing at his knee in distress.

Corum attempted to come back into the game early in the second half and was seen struggling to test it out before re-entering but only appeared in one play before sitting out the rest of the game.

Well, we now appear to have our answer as to whether the Heisman candidate will be available against the Buckeyes and it appears as though he will indeed play, as first reported by ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Probably of more importance of course is exactly how effective Corum will be. According to the report, the medical staff will continue to monitor Corum but we at least know that he’s going to give it a go.

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again — we want Michigan (and both teams really) — at their best for this annual Donnybrook.
