Another Ohio State football commit shuts down notion of flipping

Great news for the Buckeyes

This weekend was the last recruiting time before a dead period, and Ohio State football didn’t host a gathering like many other schools did.

That opened up the time for some Buckeye 2025 commits to visit other schools, and defensive end commit, [autotag]Zion Grady[/autotag], was one of them. The nation’s No. 80 overall player according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings took a trip to Auburn on Saturday.

Rivals reporter Bryan Matthews wrote a story claiming that he felt like the Tigers “have a good chance” to flip the 6-foot, 4-inch, 235-pound star.

As Lee Corso famously says, “not so fast my friends,” as Grady quoted the story and claimed that he’s “1000% lock-in.”

If I had to guess the reason for the trip was an accompany one his best friends, 2025 Auburn commit [autotag]Malik Autry[/autotag]. Ohio State is actively trying to flip the defensive tackle, and Grady is just trying to help those efforts.

C.J. Stroud seen exchanging numbers with Ohio State football commit

The Buckeye brotherhood is strong. #GoBucks

The Ohio State football brotherhood is strong, even when the players aren’t yet in Columbus.

In a video shared on X, you can see former Buckeye star quarterback [autotag]C.J. Stroud[/autotag] talking with 2025 cornerback commit [autotag]Devin Sanchez[/autotag]. The future Ohio State player gives the current Houston Texans starter his phone, as Stroud seems to be entering his number.

It’s great to see that even while Stroud is preparing for his second season in the NFLf, that he would still take the time to talk to Sanchez. Clearly the distance between the two helped foster this relationship, as the 5-star corner lives in the Houston area.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this kind of interaction from former and future Buckeyes, and it surely won’t be the last. Regardless, it’s still great to see.

Ohio State basketball makes top-6 for former NBA star’s son

The Buckeyes are on the star guards short list. #GoBucks

The recruitment for [autotag]Kiyan Anthony[/autotag], son of former Syracuse and NBA great Carmelo, has been favorable for Ohio State basketball.

The 6-foot, 5-inch, 185-pound player has expressed interest in visiting Columbus to check out the program. Now, the nation’s No. 31 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings has trimmed his list down to six schools.

Along with Ohio State, Anthony still is considering Syracuse, Auburn, Florida State, USC and Rutgers. You have to believe that his father’s alma mater, the Orangemen, is the team to beat due to familiarity with the program. Yes, his father’s head coach Jim Boeheim has retired, but that may not matter.

The younger Anthony could blaze his own path in college, as he would be a great fit in Scarlet and Gray.

Ohio State football offers 2027 Mississippi running back Mikel Stephen

It’s early, but the Bucks liked what the saw from the back

While the current recruiting focus for Ohio State football is finishing the 2025 cycle on a strong note, it is not the sole center of attention.

As always, the classes after are still on the Buckeyes coaches minds, and on Wednesday they made an offer to 2027 Mississippi running back [autotag]Mikel Stephen[/autotag]. The 5-foot, 11-inch and 185-pound ball carrier has just four offers to date, but two of them are very impressive.

Already in hand were offers from Florida State and Georgia, with the Buckeyes now entering the mix. What’s a bit odd is that on the 247Sports database, it shows that Stephen was offered by Ohio State in early June, although he just posted the offer on social media. He is currently unranked at the moment.

Regardless of when the offer was made, the Buckeyes were extremely early in identifying his talent. Hopefully this makes a difference in Stephen’s recruitment as there is still a long time until he can officially sign.

Ohio State football offers 2025 Utah wide receiver

The Buckeyes will need to make up some ground in his recruitment, but this is a start

Ohio State football has missed out on some of the elite receivers that it targeted in the 2025 class.

They still grabbed commitments from Quincy Porter, De’zie Jones and Bodpegn Miller, but a fourth one was always in the plans. Since the Buckeyes had to make an adjustment to their recruiting board, they found a prospect that fits what they are looking for in Utah’s [autotag]Jerome Myles[/autotag].

The 6-foot, 2-inch and 205-pound receiver was offered a scholarship by Ohio State on Wednesday afternoon, even though the Buckeyes will have to make up plenty of ground in a short amount of time. Myles is viewed as one of the country’s best prospects, ranking as the No. 76 overall prospect and 11th at his position according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Myles went on multiple official visits during the spring window, but has yet to make a commitment. If Ohio State is able to get him on campus for a game this fall, then they will be squarely in the mix for his signature.

Ohio State basketball will host 2025 five-star Michigan guard this fall

The Buckeyes are making a move with one of the nation’s best guards

It’s been a stark contrast in recruiting styles for Ohio State basketball since Jake Diebler was hired to take over for Chris Holtmann.

The new Buckeye coach has brought in a great first transfer class, which included two former 5-star prospects in center Aaron Bradshaw and power forward Sean Stewart.

There is plenty of potential for the 5-stars to keep ending up in Columbus, as 2025 Michigan shooting guard, [autotag]Trey McKenney[/autotag], has set up a visit for the weekend of October 26 according to 24/7 High School Hoops. He’s one of the top prospects in the nation, ranking as the No. 15 overall player in his class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The 6-foot, 4-inch, 225-pound star would pair well at the position with current guard commit Dorian Jones. Diebler has shown that he can reel in the big fish, and the Buckeyes hope that’s the case again with McKenney.

Ohio State basketball is a finalist for elite Wisconsin 2026 combo guard

The Bucks will have one of the nations best prospects on campus for the Marshall game. #GoBucks

Ohio State basketball added a commitment from in-state 2025 shooting guard, Dorian Jones, earlier this month, snapping its drought in the cycle.

However, head coach Jake Diebler isn’t done trying to add prospects as Wisconsin combo guard, [autotag]Davion Hannah[/autotag], is one of his top targets. The 6-foot, 5-inch, 175-pound player narrowed down his list to nine schools, with eight of them getting an upcoming official visit.

The nation’s No. 29 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings will visit Columbus on September 20, when the football team faces off against Marshall. One of Diebler’s goals was to host as many visits during football games as he can, and the timing of Hannah’s trip fulfills that.

It’s going to be a difficult recruitment for the Buckeyes to win, but being in this position gives them a fighting chance to win over Hannah.

Braxton Miller’s son has received his first scholarship offer

He’s not even in middle school yet! #GoBucks

There is no debate, Braxton Miller is one of the greatest pure athletes to ever lace ’em up for The Ohio State University. Who knows what his legacy would’ve been had he not got injured before the start of the 2014 season?

Now the question is — will Miller’s ultra-athletic genes be passed on to his children? One Division I head coach is banking on it. Former Ohio State offensive coordinator and current Florida Atlantic head coach, Tom Herman, has offered Miller’s son Landon a scholarship who is, get this … entering sixth grade!

It’s not the first time we’ve seen players get offers before they even get to high school, but it’s somewhat unheard of for a kid just out of elementary school. Of course, Herman has a history with Miller as he was on Ohio State’s staff for the final three years of Miller’s OSU career. Maybe he’s just throwing a former player a bone, or maybe he’s taking a gamble that if Landon is half as talented as his dad, he’s going to be pretty good.

Clearly, there is a lot of time left before anything would come to fruition. Landon Miller won’t graduate from high school until 2031 assuming he doesn’t reclassify. So many things can happen between now and then and my guess is, he’ll get many more looks and offers when the time is right.

Ohio State football receives a crystal ball pick for 2026 in-state cornerback

The best in Ohio, stay in Ohio. #GoBucks

Ohio State football sent out plenty of offers during its summer camp sessions, and one of those went to 2026 Toledo cornerback, [autotag]Victor Singleton[/autotag].

The 6-foot, 160-pound prospect is one of the state’s best players, and his ranking backs that up. The 247Sports Composite Rankings has Singleton as the No. 112 overall prospect and 10th ranked cornerback.

It seems like the offer has resonated with Singleton, as on Monday 247Sports Bill Kurelic logged a crystal ball pick for him to eventually commit to the Buckeyes.

One of Ryan Day’s major focuses recruiting has been keeping the best talent to stay in Ohio and play for Ohio State. It looks like that will be the case for Singleton.

Currently Ohio State has just one 2026 commit, wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. If Kurelic is right, then Singleton will be another Ohioan to join the class.

Ohio State football misses out on 2025 Florida wide receiver Vernell Brown III

Ohio State couldn’t reel in the top receiver. #GoBucks

It was always going to be difficult to lure Florida 2025 wide receiver, [autotag]Vernell Brown III[/autotag], out of his home state, but Ohio State football was one of the few schools that stood a chance.

Although the Buckeyes were in the 5-foot, 11-inch, 170-pound prospect’s final group, it was a long shot that he’d play for a northern team. That proved to be the case on Sunday, as the nation’s No. 25 overall player according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings chose the Florida Gators.

Ohio State did everything it could to lure him to Columbus, but the distance was too much to overcome.

Luckily, the Buckeyes are still in great shape at the position for the 2025 class with Quincy Porter, De’zie Jones and Bodpegn Miller committed.
