WATCH: C.J. Stroud checks out Ohio State pro day

Look who took OSU pro day in. #GoBucks

With just over a month before the 2024 NFL Draft it is that time of the year for pro day workouts across the country. Pro days are a good chance for college football players looking to make the leap into the NFL or any other pro football league to show scouts what they can do.

Many notable players from the Buckeyes’ 2023 squad participated in pro day workouts.  This included Tommy Eichenberg, Steele Chambers, Michael Hall Jr., Josh Proctor, Xavier Johnson, Cade Stover, and Matt Jones amongst others.

Former Buckeyes who finished their college careers with other teams also got the opportunity to work out as Marcus Hooker, Amir Ariel, Jansen Wint, Sam Wiglusz, Darryl Sinclair, and Ryan Batsch all participated.

As posted across social media former Ohio State and now Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud made an appearance to cheer on his teammates.

2024 NFL draft: Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr. to pass on pro day workout

Marvin Harrison won’t be woking out for teams at the Ohio State Pro Day.

According to NFL reporter Albert Breer, Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. will not work out at the Ohio State Pro Day on Wednesday. This is on the heels of Harrison passing on working out or even speaking to the media at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Harrison is widely regarded as one of, if not the top receiver in the 2024 NFL draft. A strong case can be made for both LSU’s Malik Nabers and Washington’s Rome Odunze but Harrison seems to believe he’s the first receiver off the board, so he isn’t going to risk injury with workouts.

If Harrison is the top receiver off the board, the most likely landing spot is No. 4 overall to the Arizona Cardinals. Perhaps he’s spoken to Arizona and they have assured him he is their pick so he seems no point in working out. But if they haven’t, could this sort of attitude be a negative for some potential suitors?

Up next, the NFL for many of these Buckeyes #GoBucks

The [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] Pro Day brought in plenty of NFL eyes and rightfully so, multiple Buckeyes are expected to be selected during the draft’s three days.

This was a chance for the outgoing Ohio State players to give NFL executives one more chance at seeing what each of them has to offer at the next level.

Not only that, the Buckeyes have done a great job at previewing some of their younger players, this year’s wide receivers [autotag]Marvin Harrison Jr.[/autotag] and [autotag]Jayden Ballard,[/autotag] were catching passes from potential No. 1 overall selection, [autotag]C.J. Stroud[/autotag], who did the same last year.

McShay recalls when Commanders owner Daniel Snyder attended a pro day

Washington fans certainly remember the last time an NFL owner attended a pro day.

Thursday, Ohio State hosted a Pro Day for 2023 NFL draft prospects.

During the ESPN television coverage, I noticed ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay and Louis Riddick informing the live audience that the Carolina Panthers not only had some scouts and coaches present, but Riddick said it was “the entire Panthers contingent” who were present.

McShay added he had been attending the pro days of the top rookie quarterbacks for the last 16 years. McShay continued, “And the last time I remember an owner being at a pro day was when Daniel Snyder was at RG3s (Robert Griffin) before they drafted him in Washington. So it says a lot that [Carolina owner] Tepper was here.”

McShay elaborated further, “But David Tepper, the owner of the Panthers, is also going to be in Tuscaloosa (AL) tomorrow for Bryce Young’s. He is going to be in Lexington (KY) for Will Levis’ (pro day) and then later in the week at Anthony Richardson’s in Florida.”

“So it’s going to be interesting to see how the owner plays into this as he tries to get to know all four of these quarterbacks as people and future businessmen.”

Washington fans are discouraged to be reminded that Griffin, after his highly successful rookie 2012 season, refused to run the offense designed by Mike and Kyle Shanahan and saw his lack of ability in an NFL pocket exposed.

Snyder had desired to have Griffin, trading up to the No. 2 pick in the draft to take Griffin. In turn, Snyder traded away the 2012 No. 6 pick, the 2012 No. 39 pick, the 2013 No. 22 pick, and the 2014 No. 2 overall selection. Though still exhibiting physical and athletic ability, Griffin’s performances were so subpar in 2013 and 2014 he never recovered, never experiencing anything successful in the NFL.

Though Snyder wanted and got Griffin, it was Shanahan who insisted Washington draft Kirk Cousins when he was available in the fourth round of that same 2012 draft. This resulted in much sharp criticism from NFL analysts being directed at Shanahan personally.

However, it was Shanahan who was proven correct and Daniel Snyder incorrect in judging NFL QB potential.

All Ohio State player pro day results

All the results of all 14 Buckeyes at pro day Wednesday. #GoBucks

Another Ohio State football pro day is in the books, and, boy, what a show quarterback C.J. Stroud put on. He was obviously the main event on Wednesday, but 13 other Buckeyes were looking to make a name for themselves in front of quite the NFL contingent at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center as well.

These pro days aren’t like the NFL scouting combine when you get real-time results. Instead, you have to rely on reporting from the players or NFL representatives themselves in a lot of cases.

This year, however, we are in luck because Ohio State provided the official results in a release to media members and it matches the literature we’ve seen on social media. In case you missed any of it, here are the results for all 14 Ohio State players that took part in pro day on Wednesday. Not all players performed all tests, but what’s available, we have for your consumption on this fine Thursday — the day after all the shenanigans took place.

WATCH: Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud’s pro day performance

Watch and marvel. #GoBucks

NFL types were buzzing yesterday after watching Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud put on a clinic at OSU’s annual pro day on Wednesday.

Stroud was as advertised, if not better. He made pinpoint throws to all three levels of the field. His footwork and mechanics were outstanding and the ball jumped out of his hand with a tight spiral more often than not. His throws looked smooth and effortless in a nod to the fact there was more in the tank if he wanted to dial it up.

In case you missed any of his workout at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center on Wednesday, you can catch it here thanks to the NFL YouTube channel. Watch and marvel at what might be a performance that makes Stroud the No. 1 overall pick in April’s 2023 NFL draft.

The Carolina Panthers are on the clock, and it’s hard to imagine any other quarterback prospect looking this good as other pro days unfold.

There were some goings on at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center on Wednesday. Namely, Ohio State hosted a pretty large contingent of NFL representatives for its annual pro day.

While a lot of the NFL types were there to watch C.J. Stroud work out, many were also there to see the other Ohio State draft hopefuls Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Paris Johnson Jr. and more. And while NFL+ was really the only way you could stream some of the event live, there were plenty of Twitter reactions to all the hubbub in Columbus.

Here are some of the best Twitter had to offer from the 2023 version of Ohio State pro day.

Best Twitter highlights of Ohio State’s Pro Day

Check out the best clips shared on Twitter here #GoBucks

There were plenty of NFL front offices in Columbus to watch Ohio State stars participate in today’s Pro Day. It makes plenty of sense as there should be a large amount of former OSU stars hearing their names selected during the NFL Draft.

Fourteen Buckeyes took part in the action in front of coaches, scouts, and general managers today and most of us were still working. Fortunately, we have you covered.

We found plenty of action that was shared on Twitter of the Ohio State players working out. Check out the clips below along with a quick breakdown of what we saw in each of them. We also added some Twitter reactions as well.

What to watch with all fourteen players taking part in Ohio State football’s pro day Wednesday

Which of these 14 do you think will have the most productive NFL career? #GoBucks

It’s the time of year when NFL draft hopefuls strut their stuff. We’ve already seen some of the national players expected to go in the draft get prodded, poked, and interviewed during the NFL scouting combine, and now, that’ll be replaced by some of the bigger individual schools holding their own version of the event, called pro day.

For Ohio State, it’s an annual event that has a lot of potential NFL talent because of the football factory that it is, and it’s no different in 2023. There will be quite a large contingent on hand to witness C.J. Stroud and others go through some on-field workouts, and some of the event is even being televised by the NFL.

So what former Buckeyes can you expect to see on Wednesday? Here’s a list of all 14 Ohio State players expected to put their best foot forward during Ohio State football’s pro day and the narratives on each.
