Could Steelers lose Odell Beckham Jr. sweepstakes to AFC North Rival?

Could Steelers lose out on OBJ to the Ravens, as Lamar Jackson’s MVP-caliber play and Diontae Johnson’s uncertain future spark debate?

The more things change, the more they stay the same for the Pittsburgh Steelers. In regards to which teams may sign the recently released Odell Beckham Jr., the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Baltimore Ravens, and the Los Angeles Rams were considered the odds-on favorites to sign OBJ, according to Bovada.

However, with Rams HC Sean McVay describing the team’s reluctance to pursue Beckham, this kicked the door wide open for Steelers GM Omar Khan to pull off the heist of the century.

Beckham had previously spent time on the Rams and the Ravens, and while Los Angeles is seemingly out of the hunt, Baltimore is showing signs of needing additional talent at the WR position.

Former Steelers WR Diontae Johnson is practically one foot in, one foot out of the Ravens organization, and Beckham may prefer to play in an organization he played for previously.

With Ravens QB Lamar Jackson lighting up defenses with his arm and legs, the two-time MVP award winner may present Beckham an opportunity he simply can’t pass up to close out the 2024 season.

Sean McVay gives definitive answer on potential Odell Beckham Jr. reunion

Sean McVay made it pretty clear that the Rams won’t be signing Odell Beckham Jr. right now

Sean McVay wasted no time shutting down rumors of a potential reunification between the Los Angeles Rams and veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

On Wednesday, McVay told reporters that the Rams aren’t “looking at” bringing in Beckham right now, making a pretty definitive statement that Los Angeles won’t be bringing Beckham back.

Beckham cleared waivers Monday and is now available to be signed by any team.

The Rams currently have seven wide receivers on their active roster and with the return of Tyler Higbee, it looks like McVay has all the pass catchers he needs.

While it looks unlikely that Beckham will link up with the Rams this season, he remains a free agent and the list of teams interested in his services continues to dwindle with every passing day.

If the Rams are playoff-bound, don’t shut the door yet on another potential OBJ playoff masterclass performance in blue and yellow.

Rams haven’t had discussions about bringing back Odell Beckham Jr.

Sean McVay commented on whether the Rams would consider signing Odell Beckham Jr.

The Los Angeles Rams are stocked with talent at wide receiver, led by Puka Nacua, Cooper Kupp and Demarcus Robinson as their three starters. They also have Tutu Atwell, who’s playing well and brings a different skill set to the table than the top three wideouts on the team.

But anytime Odell Beckham Jr.’s name hits the market, there are questions about whether the Rams might consider bringing him in like they did in 2021 when they won a Super Bowl. Beckham and the Dolphins mutually agreed to part ways last week and on Monday, he officially cleared waivers, making him a free agent.

Sean McVay was asked if the Rams would consider signing him, but he says that’s not something they’ve talked about yet.

“That’s not something that we’ve talked about yet,” McVay said. “You know the respect that I have for him, but that hasn’t been something that we’ve discussed.”

Beckham hasn’t been very productive or impactful since tearing his ACL in the Super Bowl. He sat out the 2022 season as a free agent while rehabbing his knee before signing with the Ravens in 2023. In Baltimore, he caught 35 passes for 565 yards with three touchdowns.

This season with the Dolphins, he had just nine receptions for 55 yards in nine games before getting waived.

He’s a talented receiver but his knee injury clearly hurt his athleticism and explosiveness. There may not be a clear role in Los Angeles right now but we can never rule out the Rams bringing him back.

Steelers among betting favorites to sign Odell Beckham Jr.

Could Odell Beckham Jr. join the Pittsburgh Steelers? Betting odds from Bovada suggest it may be possible as the AFC playoff race heats up.

Could recently released WR Odell Beckham Jr. don the Black and Gold as the 2024 season comes to a close? Bovada, a popular betting site, certainly believes so, as the Pittsburgh Steelers are currently tied for the second-highest odds of landing the former All-Pro wide receiver.

The Steelers are tied with the Baltimore Ravens at +280 odds to sign Beckham, while the Los Angeles Rams, the current favorites, have +225 odds at landing him.

With major concerns surrounding the Pittsburgh wide receiver room, worsened by star WR George Pickens’ recent hamstring injury, the Steelers landing Beckham may not be so far-fetched.

Realistically, Beckham could easily thrive as a WR2 or WR3 in today’s NFL, and his connection with QB Russell Wilson would make the Steelers’ offense even more dangerous.

Steelers WRs Mike Williams and Calvin Austin haven’t done enough to inspire confidence that they can step up in Pickens’ absence, but Beckham would provide a welcome veteran presence as the AFC playoff picture begins to take shape for the Black and Gold.

Miami Dolphins waive veteran wideout Odell Beckham Jr.

The Dolphins have cut ties with Odell Beckham Jr.

Odell Beckham Jr.’s time with the Miami Dolphins is over. The AFC East team waived the veteran WR on Friday.

Beckham had nine catches on 18 targets in nine games with the Fish. They went for 55 yards and three first downs.

The Dolphins were Beckham’s fifth NFL team. He hopes to catch on with a contender. His first three seasons with the New York Giants out of LSU as a first-round pick were his most productive years.

Could Odell Beckham Jr. sign with the receiver-hungry Steelers?

With the Pittsburgh Steelers in desperate need of WR help, could the team potentially sign the recently released Odell Beckham Jr.?

In what is shaping up to be an up-and-down roller coaster for the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver room over the past few weeks, one recently released Miami Dolphins receiver could make all the difference for the Black and Gold.

Former All-Pro WR Odell Beckham Jr. and the Dolphins have mutually agreed to part ways, with Beckham seeking opportunities for playing time elsewhere.

The Pittsburgh Steelers were in desperate need of receiver help heading into the 2024 regular season, and it remains their biggest area of concern with major implications looming over the next few weeks.

With Steelers WR George Pickens out with a hamstring injury and no return date given, Beckham and the Steel City seem like a match made in Heaven.

Beckham would instantly be an upgrade to the depleted Steelers wide receiver room, and when Pickens is healthy, this terrifying tandem would be tough for opposing secondaries to contain. In the meantime, Pittsburgh Steelers WRs Calvin Austin III, Mike Williams, Van Jefferson, and Scotty Miller will do their best to fill the void left by Pickens.

Dolphins, WR Odell Beckham Jr. mutually agree to his release

Odell Beckham’s time with the Dolphins ends with just 55 receiving yards in nine games.

The Miami Dolphins are parting with wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. after an underwhelming nine games together, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Friday morning.

The news didn’t come out of nowhere. The veteran receiver missed back-to-back practices for what the team called personal reasons. Then on Thursday night, Beckham posted a cryptic message on Instagram that suggested his time in Miami was over.

According to Pelissero, the release of Beckham came, in part, because the receiver “is hoping for more opportunities elsewhere” after struggling to carve out a role with the Dolphins.

After beginning the season on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, Beckham made his Dolphins debut in October, but recorded only nine receptions for 55 yards in nine games.

Receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, tight end Jonnu Smith, and running back De’Von Achane have been the top four options for Tua Tagovailoa with all racking up at least 70 targets this season. No other player on the team has been targeted even 20 times, although rookie receiver Malik Washington has seen a recent uptick in offensive snaps and played a career-high 30 on Sunday.

Odell Beckham Jr. posts cryptic message after another missed practice

Is Odell Beckham Jr.’s time with the Dolphins coming to an end?

Odell Beckham Jr. has sat out back-to-back Miami Dolphins practices for what the team is calling personal reasons. On Thursday night, he posted a cryptic message that suggested he may not be returning to the team anytime soon.

In an image posted on his Instagram story, Beckham wrote “ima always land on my feet.” Via @obj:

Beckham, 32, joined Miami earlier this year on an incentive-laden one-year contract. After beginning the season on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, Beckham made his Dolphins debut in October, but has mostly been a non-factor in the team’s offense.

In nine games, he’s recorded nine receptions for 55 yards without a touchdown. In the last three weeks, he has only two grabs for 10 yards.

The team recently brought River Cracraft back into the fold after a stint on injured reserve, and it also opened the practice window for receiver Grant DuBose to return from IR as well. Couple those returns with an uptick in offensive snaps for rookie Malik Washington and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if the Dolphins were ready to part with Beckham.

Giants’ Malik Nabers has sights set on 1,000-yard season

New York Giants rookie receiver Malik Nabers is focusing on having a 1,000-yard season and breaking some franchise rookie records.

The New York Giants selected LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft because they knew he had star potential.

Nabers has had a bit of a rough go thus far in his rookie season, missing two weeks with a concussion, dealing with a dreaded case of the drops, and more recently, playing through hip and groin ailments.

His unfiltered comments to the media regarding the manner in which the team was using his talents have also put extra pressure on him.

But here we are, in Week 15 with four games to go and Nabers still has a chance to make his mark in both eat NFL and Giants record books.

Nabers has 80 receptions this season. The Giants’ record for receptions is 107, set by Steve Smith back in 2009. The rookie record is 91 shared by Odell Beckham Jr. (2014) and Saquon Barkley (2018).

Nabers is averaging 7.3 receptions per game, which means he should end the season with 109 receptions, which would be a new franchise record.

One record Nabers will have difficulty breaking, however, is Beckham’s rookie record for receiving yards (1,305) but 1,000 yards is well within his grasp.

On Wednesday, Nabers spoke about 1,000 yards being a badge of honor for a wide receiver.

“Yeah. I mean, as a receiver, that’s your landmark for over a year,” he said. “College, whether it be the league, you want to hit 1,000 yards. So yeah, 1,000 yards is in my head for sure.”

The two missed games are probably going to cost Nabers the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award. He is up against several quarterbacks (Bo Nix, Jayden Daniels, Caleb Williams) but his main competition is Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, who has 87 receptions this season.

Still, records and awards aside, Nabers has made the most of the opportunities in front of him. Considering his issues and the Giants’ constantly spinning quarterback wheel, he’s held up well.

Nabers is the only player in NFL history with five or more catches in 10 of his first 11 career games. His 80 receptions are the most by a player in their first 11 games all-time.

The best is yet to come, Giant fans. Hang in there.

Odell Beckham Jr. dunks on everyone who laughed at him for taking Rams salary in Bitcoin

Odell Beckham Jr. took his Rams salary in Bitcoin and 3 years later, he’s calling out people who said it “was dumb”

When Odell Beckham Jr. signed with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021, he decided to take his $750,000 salary in Bitcoin. It was a bold call by the star receiver, especially after the price of Bitcoin had doubled in the four months before he signed his contract.

Three years later, he’s finally getting the last laugh. Bitcoin is at an all-time high, soaring past $90,000 this week, which means Beckham’s bet paid off.

He didn’t pass up the opportunity to dunk on those who doubted him, either. On Wednesday, he posted on X (formerly Twitter) calling out people who said taking his salary in Bitcoin “was dumb,” sharing a screenshot of the crypto’s skyrocketing price.

We have to assume Beckham has held onto his Bitcoin until now based on his post, and he should be thankful he did. When Beckham signed with the Rams in Nov. 2021, the price of Bitcoin hit a peak of around $65,000 before cratering to $16,000 a year later.

Now at all-time highs, Beckham has presumably made about 50% on his investment in the volatile coin, turning $750,000 into more than $1 million.
