LOOK: 5-star Nyckoles Harbor shares photos from visit to Oregon

Nyckoles Harbor definitely looks good in the green and yellow 👀🦆

The main attraction in Eugene over the weekend was 5-star athlete Nyckoles harbor, one of the top-ranked uncommitted players left in the 2023 class. Harbor was on an official visit to see the Oregon Ducks, checking out the facilities for both football and track and field, making his way from Autzen Stadium, to Hayward Field, to Matthew Knight Arena to check out a basketball game as well.

We’ve extensively covered how things went for Harbor over the weekend, and on Monday, he finally released some of the top photos from his visit. With a mix of track and football, it’s safe to say that he looks pretty good in the green and yellow.

Nyckoles Harbor to announce college commitment on National Signing Day

The No. 1 undecided recruit in the nation, Nyckoles Harbor is set to announce his college commitment on National Signing Day.

The No. 1 ranked undecided football recruit in the country is Archbishop Carroll (DC) athlete Nyckoles Harbor. The wait is almost over, though. According to Chad Simmons at On3, Harbor will announce his decision on Wednesday, National Signing Day.

While Harbor has no “official” final list, the five schools that appear to have the best chance to land his commitment are South Carolina, Oregon, Michigan, Maryland and Miami.

It may or may not be a clue as to his intentions, but Harbor spent the weekend in Eugene and shared an Oregon-themed video on Twitter on Saturday:

For what it’s worth, On3’s prediction model still has him going to South Carolina, which has been the favorite to get Harbor for several months.

Harbor (6-foot-5, 225 pounds) plays all three phases and is ranked No. 19 in his class according to the composite rankings.

5-star ATH Nyckoles Harbor sets commitment date and time

The date and time for 5-star Nyckoles Harbor to announce his commitment has now been set.

The last several weeks have been spent with Oregon Duck fans wondering how much of a shot their favorite team had in the recruitment of 5-star ATH Nyckoles Harbor. Now, with his official visit behind us, it’s clear that the Ducks are serious contenders to land the elite playmaker.

Now we just have to wait until the announcement.

Fortunately, we know now how long we will have to wait. It was reported by On3’s Chad Simmons on Monday morning that Harbor will be making his official commitment on the morning of signing day. The announcement will come at 10 a.m. PT, aired live on ESPN.

Can we see more fireworks in Eugene from Dan Lanning and his staff? That’s yet to become clear, but we do know that the Ducks are in good shape to make more waves in the recruiting world.

Social Media Buzz: Oregon recruits react to big-time visitor weekend in Eugene

Another group of recruits left buzzing after a big weekend of visits in Eugene for the Oregon Ducks.

It was the last open weekend of recruiting in the 2023 cycle, and the Oregon Ducks made it count. With a couple dozen prospects in town for both official and unofficial visits, Dan Lanning and his staff pulled out all of the stops, and we’re able to utilize the best parts of Eugene — Autzen Stadium, Hayward Field, Matthew Knight Arena — to their advantage.

Guys like 5-star ATH Nyckoles Harbor and 5-star WR Dakorien Moore were in town, with a ton of other blue-chip prospects. After getting a feel for the campus, and feeling the energy at Oregon men’s basketball win over Utah on Saturday night, a lot of players left buzzing about the visit.

Here are some of the best media clips and social reactions after the weekend.

LOOK: 5-star Nyckoles Harbor gets good look at Eugene on official visit

From Hayward Field, to photo shoots, to hanging out in the student section at the Ducks game, 5-star Nyckoles Harbor has had an eventful visit thus far.

It appears that the Oregon Ducks are pulling out the stops when it comes to the official visit for 5-star athlete Nyckoles Harbor this weekend.

While Friday night was spent with the track and football star touring the Historic Hayward Field, Saturday was jam-packed with events spread across the city.

Not only was Harbor able to go through the photo shoot song and dance at Autzen Stadium, jointing other recruits on campus by mixing and matching with the best that Nike can provide, but Harbor later was in attendance at the Oregon men’s basketball game, a 68-56 win over Utah that saw the season’s largest crowd at Matthew Knight Arena. At the game, the Oregon football team was honored in the first half and threw t-shirts to the crowd.

The recruitment continued on Saturday night, with Harbor apparently spending some time with head coach Dan Lanning. Here are some of the best photos and videos of Harbor’s official visit thus far.

Friday Night Notes: National Signing Day watch, the latest commitments and more

A look at the latest recruiting news as National Signing Day awaits on Wednesday, February 1.

USA TODAY High School Sports‘ Friday Night Notes is a weekly high school recruiting recap that looks at the latest news from around the country—from the Class of 2023 to ’24 and beyond.

National Signing Day comes on Wednesday, February 1 – a major landmark for recruits in the class of 2023 to sign with their intended schools.

That means there are some big names that we will be watching over the next several days to see where they land. Here are the top-five remaining unsigned players in this recruiting cycle and where they might end up.

Archbishop Carroll (DC) Athlete Nyckoles Harbor

The best player who has yet to make a college decision is Harbor, who may be the most versatile prospect in the entire class. Harbor (6-foot-5, 225 pounds) plays edge and wide receiver and returns kickoffs, as well. He’s a hot candidate with 42 offers overall. Maryland, Michigan, Oregon and South Carolina are in the lead to get him to sign.

Pinnacle (Ariz.) Tight end Duce Robinson

Robinson (6-foot-6, 225 pounds) is the No. 1 tight end in the country and ranks No. 17 overall. 28 teams have made Robinson an offer. His most recent official visit was to Texas and Oregon is getting some late buzz, but right now Georgia appears to be the clear favorite.

Pittsburg (Calif.) Quarterback Jaden Rashada

After flipping from Miami to Florida and then getting released from his letter of intent, Rashada (6-foot-4, 175 pounds) is the biggest wild card left in the deck. He’s ranked No. 7 among quarterbacks in his class and is getting a ton of attention – including from several new schools. According to On3, TCU, Arizona State, Washington, California, South Carolina, Utah and Nebraska are now also in the mix for Rashada.

Junipero Serra (Calif.) Cornerback Rodrick Pleasant

Pleasant (5-foot-11, 180 pounds) is one of the top-10 cornerbacks in his class and is ranked No. 7 overall in California. 30 programs have extended offers to Pleasant, with Boston College, California, Oregon, UCLA and USC in the lead, per 247Sports.

Folsom (Calif.) Tight end Walker Lyons

Lyons (6-foot-4, 230 pounds) is the fifth-best tight end in the class of 2023, according to the composite rankings. He has offers from 33 schools; Georgia, BYU, USC, Utah and Stanford are all considered to be in the running.

Updated list of Oregon recruiting visitors on final weekend before signing day

Some important recruits are going to be visiting Eugene to see the Ducks this weekend.

We saw a lot of fireworks on December 21 when the Oregon Ducks made a splash in the college football recruiting world and signed one of the top classes in school history. Dan Lanning and Co. may not be done just yet, though, as they try to get a couple more additions before the February 1 final signing day of the 2023 cycle.

With that major date approaching next week, we can expect one final weekend of recruiting visits in Eugene where the coaching staff will work to put the finishing touches on some 2023 prospects, as well as continue their pursuit for 2024 and 2025 prospects as well.

The list of visitors in Eugene will be headlined by 5-star ATH Nyckoles Harbor, the No. 16 overall player in the 2023 class who is set to make his announcement on signing day. Harbor will be on an official visit, which will give the Ducks a great chance to take out all of the stops and try hard to get him to commit to Oregon.

Here are all of the prospects who we have confirmed will be in Eugene this weekend:

Report: Dan Lanning takes in-home visit to 5-star Nyckoles Harbor ahead of OV in Eugene

It looks like Dan Lanning is going to be seeing 5-star ATH Nyckoles Harbor on an in-home visit on Tuesday. Harbor will take his official visit to Eugene next weekend.

One of the biggest remaining targets on the Oregon Ducks’ horizon in the 2023 recruiting class is 5-star ATH Nyckoles Harbor. In fact, we can remove the “one of” classification in that previous sentence; Harbor is the biggest target remaining for Dan Lanning and the Ducks as national signing day draws closer.

While Harbor, the No. 16 player in the nation, will be taking an official visit to the University of Oregon at the end of the month, a report from 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong on Tuesday showed that Lanning is planning to see the 5-star on an in-home visit in the Washington D.C. area. This will be a great opportunity for the two to further their connection while Lanning lays out a plan for how the Ducks would use Harbor in Eugene going forward.

Of course, the official visit at the end of the month will be the No. 1 selling point, though. That is when the Ducks can pull out all of the stops and truly sell Harbor on his potential future in Eugene. While the football facilities will be big, it could be the track facilities at the Historic Hayward Field that ultimately sway Harbor, who has dreams of running track in the Olympics.

We will try to find out how the in-home visit went with Lanning and Harbor on Tuesday, but all eyes are on the OV at the end of the month at this point.

Friday Night Notes: Cormani McClain watch, early 2024 recruiting rankings and more

For what it’s worth, McClain posed for photos with some Alabama commits after the game.

USA TODAY High School Sports‘ Friday Night Notes is a weekly high school recruiting recap that looks at the latest news from around the country—from the Class of 2023 to ’24 and beyond.

Lakeland (Fla.) cornerback Cormani McClain is “technically” still committed to Miami. That’s all he would share with reporters leading up to the Under Armour All-American Bowl earlier this week. While that sort of keeps McClain outside of the undecided grouping from the class, he is creating significant buzz…

The latest on McClain comes from Andrew Ivins at 247 Sports, who’s declared him the biggest enigma from the Under Armour game. Apparently McCLain will be making his decision on January 15.

“McClain’s recruitment remains one big mystery. After electing to not sign early despite a near two-month commitment to the Hurricanes, McClain said in an interview with ESPN2 that he will be “signing” Jan. 15, which is not an official signing window. Will McClain be inking some type of paperwork with Miami? It sounds like it, but you never really know with McClain.”

For what it’s worth, McClain posed for photos with some Alabama commits after the game.

McClain’s other finalist is Florida, where he was originally projected to sign before his surprise commitment to Miami in late October.

The wild card to watch here is Colorado, where Deion Sanders became head coach last month. Ever since, they’ve been on a recruiting and transfer tear, including getting 2022’s top overall recruit, cornerback Justin Hunter.

5-star athlete Nyckoles Harbor gives the latest details on decision timeline, top choices

.@Ducks_Wire has good reason to think it can land Nyckoles Harbor, but the dynamic athlete — if he has made a decision — isn’t showing his cards just yet.

Nyckoles Harbor seems like a man who is thinking long and hard about where he wants to play college football. The dynamic athlete isn’t offering any strong hints or clues about his ultimate decision.

“What’s next for me is deciding on a school,” Harbor said. “I have one more visit to Oregon and then February 1 is the commitment. I don’t really have a finalist but I guess you can put Maryland, South Carolina, USC, Oregon and Michigan.

“The main three factors going into the decision are academics, athletics and track. That’s it.” Harbor said.

The Archbishop Carroll (D.C.) senior is an uncommitted five-star tight end/edge rusher who doubles as a world-class sprinter. The man is in the top five in the nation at the 200 meters at over 200 pounds.

Harbor is a tremendous athlete, one I would consider to be generational. Harbor is 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds, can play edge rusher or tight end at the next level, and ranks as the No. 16 overall player in the 2023 class, per the 247Sports Composite.

Harbor recorded 27 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, and 51 quarterback hurries on defense through 13 games, also forcing five fumbles and blocking two punts. Offensively, he caught 14 passes for 264 yards and five touchdowns while also winning a state title for Archbishop Carroll.

If USC were to land the “Route Surgeon,” aka Harbor, I would project him to play the edge position for the Trojans. The defense USC and Riley have put on the field has been well below average, and the Trojans need more talent and athleticism on that side of the ball.

Harbor’s father, Azuka Harbor, works as a contamination control engineer at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, and was a three-time All-America soccer player at Alabama A&M. His mother, Saundra Harbor, works as a pharmacist.

Harbor himself plans on majoring in medicine or in engineering. Nyckoles Harbor is one of the rarest prospects in recruitng history, but my comparison for him on offense is Darren Waller; my edge comparison is Chase Young.
