Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian uses Notre Dame’s loss as motivation

A learning moment across the country is what the Irish did on Saturday

It was bound to happen after Notre Dame football’s performance this past weekend, they’re being used as an example of what not to do.

The Irish may be the laughing stock of all college football after two weeks of the season, and Texas Longhorns head coach [autotag]Steve Sarkisian[/autotag] showed clips to his team of the upset.

He using it as a coaching point, as Inside Texas reported that Sark said it’s a “good reminder that we’re entitled to nothing. We’re capable of nothing. We’ve got a really good team, but we’re entitled to nothing and we’re going to earn everything we get.” Unfortunately, the Irish didn’t have this mentality this weekend.

Social media reacts to Michigan getting blown out by Texas
Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers (3) and teammates celebrate 31-12 win over Michigan at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor on Saturday, September 7, 2024.

The Longhorns are coming off one of the most impressive wins of the year, as they throughly defeated Michigan in their home. While you never want to be part of a precautionary tale, Notre Dame is going to have to wear this loss for a long time.

Notre Dame Week 1 highlight: Adon Shuler pick changes momentum

Irish safety Adon Shuler with a huge pick

With Notre Dame’s offense operating in fits and starts at the No. 20 Texas A&M Aggies and the Fighting Irish needing a spark while trailing 6-3 with 11:15 remaining in the second quarter, sophomore safety [autotag]Adon Shuler[/autotag] had his eyes in the right spot and sat on an overthrown pass for a momentum-shifting interception.

The Aggies had seemed to be feeding off the crowd as their defense had stifled the Irish and pre-snap penalties plagued the Notre Dame D. But Aggies quarterback Conner Weigman overthrew a pass and Shuler just sat in place and made the catch.

The pick ended the Aggies threat and led to Notre Dame getting the tying field goal.

Notre Dame football releases its Shamrock Series jersey’s in an epic video

Sell Like a Champion Today

It was teased yesterday, and on Wednesday Notre Dame football released its [autotag]Shamrock Series[/autotag] uniforms for the 2024 season.

As the Irish have done before, they spoofed a movie, this time being Wolf of Wall Street. The video wasn’t as expansive as previous ones like The Hangover, but what was important was the jersey.

Notre Dame will wear all blue jerseys with gold numbers and accents. You have to give some props to the social media team as well, as the caption reads “Sell Like a Champion Today.”

The Irish will wear these jerseys against Army, in a game that will be played in historic Yankee Stadium.

I’m a big fan of alternate jerseys, and this one checks all the boxes. We all can’t wait to see Notre Dame wearing these on November 23rd.

Here is a closer look at the uniforms.

Four-star cornerback recruit Justyn Rhett has decommitted from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Rhett decommitted as he visited Georgia for the 2022 spring game on April 16.

Rhett plays football for Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Rhett is ranked the No. 12 cornerback in the country and the No. 2 player in Nevada in the 2023 recruiting class. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound defensive back originally committed Notre Dame in December of 2021.

The four-star cornerback is considering Notre Dame, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Oklahoma now that he has decommitted from the Fighting Irish.

Rhett holds numerous scholarship offers from top other top college programs like Michigan, Texas A&M, Florida State and Georgia. The Bishop Gorman star could join Darnell Washington as recent elite recruit from Nevada to sign with the Georgia Bulldogs.
