Notre Dame football offers 2026 South Carolina 4-star safety J’Zavien Currence

The Irish offer one of the nations top 2026 safeties

Starting your week with a Notre Dame football offer is great, and that happened for 2026 South Carolina safety J’Zavien Currence.

The 6-foot, 4-inch and 210-pound defender was offered early Monday morning by the Irish coaching staff. Currence is viewed as one of the top prospects in his class, ranking as the No. 63 overall player and 6th ranked safety according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

It is going to be tough for any school to lure Currence away from playing for his state program South Carolina, but the Irish are going to make it a very tough decision for him as they heat up their pursuit.

With over 30 offers at the current moment, Currence has plenty of options, with Notre Dame now being one of them.

Despite losing in the ACC Championship, Duke lacrosse is No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament

Duke set to open NCAA Tournament play against Utah as the NCAA Tournament’s second seed.

Sunday felt familiar to the Duke Blue Devils. It centered around the fact that Duke could not figure out Notre Dame, cementing their conference rival as far and away the best team in the country.

The Fighting Irish cruised to a 16-6 win over Duke in the ACC Tournament championship game on Sunday, completing the double-dip of the regular season and tournament titles.

Unsurprisingly, they were announced as the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament during that evening’s selection show.

Following that announcement, John Danowski’s Blue Devil team was penciled in as the No. 2 team in the tournament. This NCAA Tournament appearance is Duke’s 26th all-time. Blue Devils will host Utah Utes in the opening round at Koskinen Stadium on May 11 at 2:30 p.m.

The Blue Devils head into the NCAA Tournament with a 12-5 overall record and a runner-up finish at the ACC Championship. Duke is 43-22 all-time in NCAA Tournament play, has advanced to Championship Weekend 14 times, and has won three NCAA titles.

Most notably, Duke made the national championship last season before falling to Notre Dame 13-9 in the national title game.

If the Blue Devils advance, they will travel to Hempstead, NY, to take on the Maryland/Princeton matchup winner. Duke played and beat Princeton 17-8 earlier this season at Koskinen Stadium.

Notre Dame baseball takes weekend series from Pittsburgh

The Irish take the ACC weekend series from Pitt

The weekend didn’t start out great for Notre Dame baseball, but it sure finished that way.

The Irish started their weekend series at home against Pittsburgh with a 3-1 loss, but rebounded the next two day with wins. On Saturday, Notre Dame brought out the sticks, as they scored 15 runs and defeated the Panthers 15-8.

It was a bit closer on Sunday, but the Irish found a way to win. Notre Dame jumped out to an early 8-0 lead after two innings, but couldn’t get the bats going for the rest of the contest. Pittsburgh chipped away at the lead and got the game within two runs, but the Irish prevailed 8-6.

The series brings the Irish’s record to 25-21 on the year, 9-18 in ACC play. They are back on the diamond on Friday as they host Toledo in a weekend series.

Notre Dame lands Ivy League defensive tackle preferred walk-on

The best of both worlds for the Irish’s new commitment

Although Notre Dame football’s recent additions haven’t been the most impressive prospects, anytime you can fill a roster full of experience college players, it should be seen as a plus.

The Irish did exactly that on Saturday, as they accepted a commitment from Columbia defensive tackle [autotag]Quentin Autry[/autotag] as a preferred walk-on. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining, but what stands out are his academic qualities.

As Jack Soble shared on social media, Autry was a national merit scholar, in the Spanish national honors society, won an honors Chemistry II award, and was his class President while in high school.

It’s a win-win for both parties, as Autry can continue his educational journey in South Bend while getting a chance to excel on the field as well.

Duke lacrosse takes down Syracuse, advances to ACC title game against Notre Dame

Duke men’s lacrosse booked a ticket to play Notre Dame in the ACC title match on Sunday after the Blue Devils jumped out to a 9-2 lead over Syracuse in the opening period.

Duke took down Syracuse 18-13 in the ACC semifinals on Friday night, setting up a battle with No. 1 Notre Dame on Sunday.

The Blue Devils jumped out to an immediate lead over the Orange with five goals in the first five minutes. Senior attacker Brennan O’Neill assisted two of the first three goals, one to Dyson Williams and one to Josh Zawada, and junior midfielder Andrew McAdorey scored two unassisted goals in the early going.

McAdorey ended with five goals, the most of any player on either team. He tacked on another with five minutes left to play in the first period, this time on an assist from Zawada, and he assisted Grant Mitchell on Duke’s last goal of the period in the closing seconds.

After 15 minutes of play, the Blue Devils led 9-2. The Orange tacked on three quick goals to start the second, but McAdorey and O’Neill each added a goal to keep Syracuse at arm’s length.

Duke took an 11-6 lead into halftime, and after an early Syracuse goal to open the second half, the Blue Devils promptly ended the game. Five unanswered goals, including two from O’Neill (who ended the game with four) and two from Williams, broke the game wide open. When the curtain closed on the third period, the Blue Devils led 16-7 with 15 minutes between them and the championship match.

Zawada added a goal in the opening 90 seconds of the fourth period to stretch the lead to 10, and the Blue Devils coasted from there. The Orange made a furious rally, including two goals in the final minute, but they could only pull within five.

The Blue Devils advanced to the ACC title game with the victory, where the top-ranked Fighting Irish await with the conference championship on the line.

Oklahoma target Trystan Haynes sets commitment date of May 7

One of Oklahoma’s best in-state prospects, Trystan Haynes has announced a decision date.

[autotag]Trystan Haynes[/autotag] is one of the best cornerback prospects in the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag], and on May 7, he will decide where to take his talents for his college football career.

Haynes is a certified Oklahoma kid who plays his high school ball at powerhouse, Carl Albert, alongside several other Division I players, such as Sooner commits [autotag]Marcus James[/autotag] and [autotag]Trynae Washington[/autotag].

With his decision less than five days away, the Sooners look to be in the driver’s seat to earn the commitment from the long, athletic, four-star cornerback. Oklahoma’s most significant threats in this recruitment are Notre Dame, Miami and Texas A&M.

Oklahoma offered Haynes in January 2023 and has been in the mix ever since. Multiple unofficial visits and trips to see Haynes and his teammates play have helped cultivate and build a close relationship.

Jay Valai and the Sooners’ defensive staff have the edge in recruiting predictions. Tides changed from Notre Dame earlier this week back to the Crimson and Cream.

If Oklahoma lands Haynes, it will likely complete the Sooners’ pursuit of cornerbacks for the 2025 class and they’ll move on to 2026.

Adding Haynes to the mix would give Oklahoma a commitment from a consensus four-star prospect and the state’s number four player, ranked No. 151, per 247Sports.

Notre Dame offers 5-star 2026 Georgia safety Zelus Hicks

The Irish have entered the chat for one of 2026’s best

There is plenty of NFL data that will back up Notre Dame football’s claim that they develop members of the secondary.

Kyle Hamilton is a star for the Baltimore Ravens, Cam Hart was just drafted and Benjamin Morrison is popping up on multiple 2025 NFL first round mock drafts. There is no shortage of past or current talent for the Irish, so when they offer a prospect, it’s easy to see the path to the next level.

That could be the case with Georgia 2026 safety [autotag]Zelus Hicks[/autotag], who was offered a Notre Dame scholarship on Thursday. He’s ranked as the nations No. 16 overall player and 2nd at his position according to the 247Sports Composite.

Almost every major power is recruiting Hicks, so it won’t be an easy recruiting win for the Irish.

Notre Dame football gets a crystal ball pick for 2026 quarterback

The Irish are looking good with one of the nations top 2026 quarterbacks

The influx of talent at quarterback for Notre Dame football has seen an uptick since Marcus Freeman took over the program.

They have come from all over, recruiting and the transfer portal, with the next one up being 2025 commit Deuce Knight. It looks like they have another top quarterbacks attention in the 2026 cycle, with Florida’s [autotag]Noah Grubbs[/autotag].

The 6-foot, 4-inch and 188-pound signal caller was crystal balled to eventually commit to Notre Dame by Tom Loy on Friday. Grubbs is one of the top prospects in the country, ranking as the No. 121 overall player and 10th quarterback of his class by the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Grubbs would be a huge recruiting win for the Irish, as they try and continue to stack talent at quarterback.

Notre Dame football offers one of the best 2026 defensive ends, Deuce Geralds

The Irish are after the Georgia star

Notre Dame football has its eyes set on making its mark on the state of Georgia, and the Irish were offering another Peach State prospect on Monday.

Defensive end [autotag]Deuce Geralds[/autotag] received the offer, as the 2026 prospect continues to add onto his already impressive list. The Irish joined teams like Alabama, LSU, Michigan and others in offering the nations No. 120 overall prospect and 13th defensive lineman according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The talent rich football state has sent more than a few of its high school stars North to South Bend the last few years like offensive lineman Anthonie Knapp, tight end Holden Staes, and current commit Jerome Bettis Jr.

The stock is rising for Geralds, who was just named as the Rivals Atlanta Camp defensive line MVP. It wasn’t the only reason why the Irish offered, but it certainly helped if they needed a nudge to send out the scholarship.

Notre Dame football offers 2026 Ohio athlete

The Irish are working on Storm

One of the benefits that Notre Dame football has with its 2025 class is that its virtually full and they can start looking ahead to the next class.

With just one current commit, wide receiver Dylan Faison, the Irish coaching staff is scouring the 2026 class for player who deserve an offer. One of those players turned out to be Ohio athlete [autotag]Storm Miller[/autotag], who got his Notre Dame offer on Monday.

Miller is an intriguing prospect, as he can play multiple positions but will most likely end up as a linebacker with his 6-foot, 3-inch and 220-pound frame. 247Sports Composite Rankings has him as the nations No. 15 at the prospect and 204th nationally.

The offer list isn’t overtly impressive at the moment, but it’s still very early in the cycle. Expect other big teams to follow Notre Dame’s lead in offering Miller.
