Best golf hats for 2023

Hats that DO NOT come with a free bowl of soup.

Just about everybody wears a hat on the golf course.

Unless you’re Robert Rock, Ingrid Lindblad or Rory McIlroy at the Ryder Cup, you’re probably going to wear some sort of headwear to keep the sun out of your eyes.

Aside from solar protection, hats can make or break an outfit. Whether you like to keep it nice and simple or you like to throw in a pattern or offbeat color to finish your look, we have you covered.

If you value visors or are a member of the bucket hat brigade…don’t fret, you’ll get your own lists later this spring.

As the warmer weather inches closer, Golfweek is making sure you have everything you need to look and play your best this year. From drivers and wedges to polos and shoes, we’ve put in the leg work to give you more time on the golf course.

Of course, the old adage goes: Look good, feel good, play good.

From Justin Thomas and Tiger Woods to Ian Poulter and Rickie Fowler, pattern or no pattern, classic collar or blade collar, every fashion sense is satisfied here.

Fun Tiger Woods themed merch and apparel to celebrate his return at the 2023 Genesis Invitational

Celebrate the Big Cat’s return to non-major golf.

The Cat is back!

It’s the first time we get to watch Tiger Woods is making his first official PGA Tour start since last year’s Open Championship, and it’s the first time we’ll see him play tournament golf since the PNC Championship in December.

Like everybody else, we’re excited to watch some Tiger, so we decided to round up some of the best Tiger themed apparel and merchandise to help celebrate.

Let’s be honest, if you don’t have at least one piece of Tiger-themed merch, are you really even a golf fan?

Seriously though, having a TW hat, a red Nike polo, a Frank head cover or anything else related to the 15-time major champ is like having the jersey of your favorite NFL or NBA player.

Of course, having that Sunday Red polo and TW hat isn’t complete without black pants and shoes. Check out our list on both golf essentials to complete the look! Best Pants | Best Shoes

Finally, we can’t talk about Tiger for too long without mentioning Charlie Woods. If you want to create your own Tiger/Charlie dynamic, sign up for Golfweek’s Father’s Day Open at Innisbrook Resort this June.

World No. 2, LPGA star Nelly Korda signs apparel deal with Nike

Nelly Korda is joining the swoosh fam.

The new year will bring a new-look Nelly Korda.

The World No. 2 golfer is one of the biggest stars in the game of golf and on the LPGA. Last month at the QBE Shootout, Max Homa and Kevin Kisner called her the Tiger Woods of the LPGA.

Korda is now going to dress like the 15-time major champion. She announced via social media on Saturday she had partnered with Nike to wear their apparel.

Korda is no stranger to the swoosh, as she has rocked Air Jordan golf shoes in tournaments for some time. Korda has been partnered with J.Lindeberg, including dropping an apparel line with the company in November.

Korda joins Tom Kim as another young superstar who signed an apparel deal with Nike this year.

She will don the gear for the first time at the LPGA’s Hilton Grand Tournament of Champions next week, where she and Jin Young Ko highlight the field.

First, remember these tips when taking your newest playing partner out on the course or practice range for the first time:

Baby steps. There’s no need to rush onto the course. Take time to develop fundamentals and good practice habits.
Relax. Chances are you’re not sparking the career of the next Nelly Korda or Tiger Woods. There’s no need to put all that pressure on your kiddo.
Pick a pro. Have your child pick a couple of players to watch and follow. Bonus points if you can go see them in person!
Have fun! That’s what golf is all about, right? Fun and enjoyment should come before anything else for all golfers, but especially for juniors.

Best cold weather gear 2022: Women’s jackets, sweaters and other tops

Who knew looking this cool would keep you this warm?

There’s nothing quite like a crisp winter morning. It’s even better when the chilled silence is pierced with a tee shot that ends up right down the middle of the fairway.

Just because temperatures are dropping, it doesn’t mean you have to put your clubs away until March. Here at Golfweek we’re helping you extend your golf season well into the cold weather months.

Here are some tips for braving the cold and killing the term “offseason”: 1) Bring a thermos. You might need some Irish Coffee to stay warm during those inevitable frost delays 2) Walk. If it’s not breezy, opt for a push cart Your body will keep you warm once you get your heart rate up 3) Play a softer golf ball. With it being colder, it’ll be harder to compress the golf ball like you do when it’s warm.

If you’re already checking your holiday shopping off your list, enjoy our men’s cold-weather tops and cold-weather pants lists too.
