Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and reigning NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes returns with a new campaign as part of his partnership with Oakley Sunglasses. The “Move The Game Forward” slogan describes Mahomes’ new “Signature Series collection” with Oakley heading into the new season.

Mahomes has had a successful run of collections, with Oakley developing some of the most unique campaigns, including a poem to his daughter Sterling, in last year’s commercial. He shared his excitement for this year’s collection in a press release.

“I am thrilled to collaborate with Oakley on an inspiring campaign and Signature Series collection ahead of this season’s kick-off,” said Mahomes. “My commitment to moving the game forward aligns perfectly with Oakley’s mission to push boundaries and create innovative products, all while inspiring the next generation. I feel honored to be part of Team Oakley, where I can continue motivating the future of the game.”

The Patrick Mahomes II Signature Series collection will include new iterations of BXTR and Resistor. Corey Hill, Vice President and Head of Oakley Global Sports Marketing, shared his thoughts on the continued partnership with Mahomes in the news release focusing on his values and charitable efforts.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes dedicates poem to daughter Sterling in latest Oakley campaign

The premier eye ware brand Oakley begins its fourth season as the official on-field partner of the NFL. Their relationship with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes also grows with the latest ad campaign featuring Mahomes and his daughter.

Mahomes is the star of the latest commercial from Oakley, shown reading a poem to his daughter Sterling with clips of him through the years rolling through like a slideshow. Photos and never before seen video footage are also shown of Sterling as he continues with his “To My Number One Pick” poem.

“To my number one pick. Welcome to life,” said Mahomes in the new commercial. “You’re already perfect. And here’s some advice: Love the game, whatever you play. Follow your dreams with hard work—every day. Tune out the haters, ignore the chatter, respect every player. Watch out for linebackers who dropped into coverage early, especially on a play-action. Stay focused, stay hungry, be loyal and lead. When the team feels like family, that’s all that you need. There’s only one you, you’ll shine bright as a star. Just lead with your heart in being who you are.”

The poem isn’t just for his daughter, but it offers advice for every young aspiring athlete and fans to pursue their dreams.

Mahomes would go on to tease his new Signature Series Collection. The collection offers four eyewear styles with a gold frame with hints of red that allude to the Chiefs’ colors. Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, Oakley launch new Signature Series Collection

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes can now add “Eyewear designer” to his resume.

Kansas City Chiefs starting QB Patrick Mahomes has launched a brand new eyewear collection in collaboration with Oakley.

Back in March of 2019, Mahomes became the first-ever NFL player to partner with Oakley. Now, the Chiefs’ star QB is set to debut The Patrick Mahomes II Signature Series, launching with a pair of sunglasses designed by the MVP quarterback himself.

Mahomes’ design is a riff on Oakley’s all-new Sutro Lite frame, with design inspiration from the Chiefs, Texas Tech and two of Mahomes’ nicknames. This frame features a red color theme, representing his pro and college teams, each lens is etched with “II”, there’s also a unique print designed with Mahomes’ “Showtime” and “2PM” nicknames in mind. It’ll also come with a custom micro bag that has Mahomes’ signature on it.

Each frame will be equipped with Oakley’s Prizm Lens Technology, the same that you’ll find in the NFL’s Oakley-branded visors. This lens tech is designed to enhance color and contrast, allowing wearers to see more detail.

“When I first joined Team Oakley, I was instantly drawn to the Sutro family – a bold and sleek performance frame that is style-driven for life off-the-field,” Mahomes said in a press release. “Now today, to have the opportunity to launch my own Signature Series that represents who I am as an athlete has been an honor.”

Report: NFL will recommend, not require players to wear face shields

The NFL wants players to wear the face shield it developed with Oakley but will not force them to do so.

The COVID-19 pandemic has everyone scrambling for ways to make life safer. The NFL is no different as it is working with Oakley to create face shields that will enable players to stay healthy and comfortable while engaged in the contact sport.

Mike Garafolo of NFL Network provided an update Thursday, saying while the league would like for its players to wear the face shields it will not require them to do so.

The designs were released earlier this month.
