Want to own the shoes Caitlin Clark wore at The Annika? Here’s your chance

Here’s your next pair of shoes.

Caitlin Clark took over the LPGA on Wednesday when she played in The Annika pro-am alongside Nelly Korda and Annika Sorenstam — she played the front nine with the world No. 1 and the back with the GOAT.

Fans came out in droves to Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida, to get an up-close look at the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft and her golf game.

Her one goal for the day was to avoid hitting a fan, and she nearly failed. However, she rebounded and played some great shots throughout the morning.

Social media quickly picked up on Clark’s shoes and were obsessed with the gold bottoms. Her shoes were Nike’s Infinity Tour 2, however, they were a Player Exclusive, meaning they’re not available to the public.

Let’s start with the shoes.

BELLEAIR, Florida – Let’s start with the shoes. From the moment Caitlin Clark walked on the driving range at The Annika driven by Gainbridge – only 18 minutes before her tee time – there was immediate buzz about her flashy golf shoes.

Before she even struck a shot Wednesday morning she was showing off the shiny gold soles on the bottom of her custom Nike Infinity Tour 2 shoes.

Gold soft spikes?

It seemed only fitting for the WNBA megastar, who warmed up as the sun rose at Pelican Golf Club. The evening before, she was out chipping barefoot near the media center.

The Indiana Fever star played the front nine alongside World No. 1 Nelly Korda and the back nine with tournament host Annika Sorenstam.

“It was so fun,” she said after the round. “Obviously getting to see them do what they do up front, people would pay for that, and I got to do it for free and have fun with them. Definitely a fun morning.

“I feel very thankful that Gainbridge had me out here, and obviously their support of women’s sport is tremendous. Just very lucky and fortunate. Hung in there, did alright. It was a good day.”

The Nike ad celebrating the Dodgers’ World Series with Randy Newman was perfect

This was a real Hollywood ending for the Dodgers, and the ad captured that.

If you have ever attended a Los Angeles Dodgers victory, one thing is always the same: You’re going to hear Randy Newman at the end of the game.

After the Dodgers won the 2024 MLB World Series, even though the clinching game was in New York and not Los Angeles, that much remained true thanks to an assist from Nike.

The brand made a perfect Hollywood-themed commercial for the Dodgers, including Newman’s “I Love L.A.” as its soundtrack. It was a perfect needle drop that fans of the team would recognize from just its first few notes.

Nike leaned into the Los Angeles vibes even more, though, by giving it an end credit sequence theme.

MLB’s much-needed improvements to the league’s Nike uniforms are going to take longer than expected

MLB somehow messed this up again.

From the moment players reported to spring training back in February, the new Nike Vapor Premier uniforms — produced in collaboration with Fanatics — was all players could talk about … and not in a good way.

Fast forward to October, MLB is officially going to make the necessary changes to the uniforms, but the fixes will take longer than many players and fans would have expected.

By now you’ve probably heard about the litany of issues. The pants were see-through, and the fits were no longer tailored to individual players. The away pants had mismatched colors with the gray jerseys. The jerseys would get absolutely soaked with any sweat, and the numbers on the back were made smaller — which made the uniforms look like cheap knockoffs.

MLB reportedly agreed to make the changes earlier in the season, but the fixes weren’t finalized until the past few days. That led to this statement from MLB:

After receiving feedback, all parties set about addressing the players’ requests for enlarged letters for player names, embroidered sleeve patches and reverting back to full pant customization.

Although production timelines will prevent all the uniform changes from being completed in time for the 2025 season, the road grey uniforms made from the 2023 fabric will be ready by Spring Training, and starting in 2026, all uniforms will return to using the previous materials from the 2023 season.

By waiting at least six months to finalize the changes, MLB/Nike/Fanatics weren’t able to put the fixes into production in time for the 2025 season. So, outside of the improvements to the road uniforms, it sounds like players will be stuck with the Vapor Premier issues for another season.

On the bright side, MLB will have players wear their team-specific uniforms during the All-Star Game again. So, there’s that.
