Daniel Jeremiah’s first 2025 NFL mock draft has Broncos picking a DB

The Broncos select safety Nick Emmanwori in Daniel Jeremiah’s first 2025 NFL mock draft.

In his first 2025 NFL mock draft, NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah has the Denver Broncos using their first round pick to select a South Carolina safety.

Jeremiah’s mock draft projects defensive back Nick Emmanwori landing with the Broncos at pick No. 20 in the first round.

“Emmanwori gave me some Derwin James vibes when I studied him,” Jeremiah wrote on NFL.com. “I love his instincts and production.”

Emmanwori totaled 88 tackles, four interceptions (two returned for touchdowns), three tackles behind the line and two pass breakups in 13 games as a junior last fall. Safety is a key position of need for Denver this offseason, so the pick wouldn’t be shocking.

Of note, Jeremiah’s mock has Penn State tight end Tyler Warren going off the board at No. 7 to the New York Jets and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty going to the Dallas Cowboys at pick No. 12.

Jeremiah has the Broncos passing on Michigan tight end Colston Loveland (Los Angeles Chargers at No. 22). He also has Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka falling out of the first round.

The 2025 NFL draft will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin from April 24-26. Denver holds seven picks, including selections in the first four rounds.

Bucs get draft riser in Mel Kiper’s first mock draft of 2025

In 2025, Mel Kiper Jr. of ESPN is projecting more help is on the way as he projects the team to make another investment.

The Bucs’ defense was hit-and-miss in terms of effectiveness in 2024. The secondary especially was lacking with playmaking ability despite the youth infusion over the last two seasons by Jason Licht and his staff.

In 2025, Mel Kiper Jr. of ESPN is projecting more help is on the way as he projects the team to make another investment.

Kiper Jr. has the team drafting safety Nick Emmanwori to the Bucs from South Carolina. The former Gamecock looked the part this season and is a classic prospect who could play various positions but is ultimately a good football player.

The longtime NFL Draft analyst writes, “Emmanwori has closed the gap with (Malaki) Starks in the safety rankings, and I considered him five spots earlier for the Colts. Emmanwori is going to be a red-hot prospect throughout the predraft process. He has a big frame at 6-3, 227 pounds, but he moves like a smaller defensive back. He picked off four passes this season (two pick-sixes), and he could fit in nicely for the Buccaneers’ defense.”

The idea of Emmanwori and Winfield Jr. playing alongside each other is certainly a fun idea. The team would have two bonafide playmakers on top of their defense, which would help prevent so many big plays against Todd Bowles and his defense.

Know your foe, South Carolina: Which Gamecocks can give Notre Dame issues

Who do you think has a big game on the other side Irish fans?

There is a certain bowl allure about about facing teams you don’t normally do. There is an added bonus of facing the team that saw one of your schools most iconic coaches, [autotag]Lou Holtz[/autotag], last roam the sidelines for as well.

This [autotag]TaxSlayer Gator Bowl[/autotag] has all of that and more, as both teams enter their final contest of the 2022 season at 8-4. The Irish lead the all-time series, 3-1, but the last time these two went at each other was in 1984, the only win of the series for [autotag]South Carolina[/autotag].

Much has changed since these two teams previously met, all these players weren’t even born when it happened. The Gamecocks are coming off two very impressive wins, [autotag]Tennessee[/autotag] and [autotag]Clemson[/autotag], and boast a very formidable team. Here are five of them, excluding star quarterback [autotag]Spencer Rattler[/autotag], that could give [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] problems Friday afternoon.
