Best bets for Commanders vs. Eagles for NFC Championship

Some of the best prop bets you can make in the NFC Championship between the Commanders and Eagles.

The NFC Championship has the Washington Commander facing the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on FOX.

We have our picks and predictions for the game here, but what are some of the best bets you can make in terms of prop bets?

Below are some of the best bets you can make for the game.

All odds come from BetMGM Sportsbook.

NFC Championship best bets: Commanders at Eagles

Commanders TE Zach Ertz anytime TD (+300)

Ertz has been a safety valve for Jayden Daniels and scored in the Commanders’ win over the Lions last week. He scored seven touchdowns in the regular season, including once in Philly in the regular season. With the Eagles losing Nakobe Dean, they will have to shift the linebacker coverage.

Commanders RB Austin Ekeler OVER 25.5 receiving yards (-130)

He surpassed that total in both playoff games so far and in five of his last eight games.

2+ TD passes for either Eagles QB Jalen Hurts (+135) or Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (+110)

The plus odds are too good to pass up for either player. If the Commanders sell out to stop Saquon Barkley, then Hurts will have A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert to throw to.

Eagles RB Kenneth Gainwell OVER 0.5 receptions (+110)

Gainwell had a catch last week and had at least one reception in six of his last seven games.

Week 18 H-Bomb underdog picks: Final week theme in many cases is, ‘Who are these guys?’

Jess Root and Howard Balzer try to pick which big underdog can cover the spread or win their game outright.

The dogs are going down. That has been the theme for several weeks as the pickings have been slim in H-Bomb eligible games with an underdog of 6.5 points or more.

With this the final week of the regular season, Jess Root and I are in danger of finishing with a .500 record after we both were 7-3 following games in Week 10. It doesn’t take a math wizard to figure out we are both 2-5 since then.

Last week, only two of six covered: the Cardinals and Giants with the latter winning outright over the Colts. Jess lost last week on the Cowboys and my loser was the Panthers.

Consider this: After underdogs covered in 12 of the first 13 games of the season and had a record of 17-2 entering Week 6, there has been a total reversal.

The 2-4 record last week dropped the overall record to 40-33 (54.8 percent) and there have been only 23 covers in the last 54 eligible games (42.6 percent). In the last four weeks, the record is 5-13.

Here are the seven eligible games for this week with five underdogs playing with backup quarterbacks:

  • Ravens -20 vs. Browns
  • Falcons -8 vs. Panthers
  • Buccaneers -14 vs. Saints
  • Packers -10 vs. Bears
  • Seahawks -6.5 at Rams
  • Broncos -10.5 vs. Chiefs
  • Commanders -6.5 vs. Cowboys

Making these picks difficult are the players on playoff teams sitting out.

Jess is going with the Rams despite the fact that Jimmy Garoppolo will be the quarterback and be without running back Kyren Williams, wide receiver Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua along with left tackle Alaric Jackson, right guard Kevin Dotson and right tackle Rob Havenstein.

I will go with the Chiefs against Denver even though Kansas City will have Carson Wentz at quarterback and probably not play tight end Travis Kelce and defensive lineman Chris Jones. While the Broncos are playing for a possible wild-card spot, it’s still difficult to envision Kansas City losing by 11 points or more.

STANDINGS AFTER 17 WEEKS

Jess           9-8 (3 direct hits)

Howard         9-8 (3 direct hits)

Cardinals-Rams Week 17 staff picks, predictions

Jess Root and Howard Balzer make their game picks for Cardinals-Rams in Week 17.

The Arizona Cardinals play their final road game of the season Saturday night against the Los Angeles Rams and can play spoiler as the Rams are in first place in the NFC West.

The Cardinals themselves have been eliminated from division and playoff contention.

They beat the Rams 41-10 in Week 2 in Arizona and have not beaten the Rams in consecutive games 2014.

How will this game play out?

The Cards Wire staff makes its expert picks for the game below.

Cardinals at Rams Week 17 picks and predictions

Jess Root

NFL Week 17 picks: 98% of experts are on one side in Rams vs. Cardinals

There’s a clear consensus among experts heading into Saturday night’s Rams-Cardinals game

There’s a clear consensus among experts in Saturday night’s game between the Rams and Cardinals. With Los Angeles being a 6.5-point favorite over Arizona, it should come as no surprise that the majority of experts are picking the Rams to win outright at home.

According to Tallysight, 98% of experts are taking the Rams to beat the Cardinals. Confidence is a bit lower when it comes to Los Angeles covering the 6.5-point spread, with only 59% picking the Rams to win by at least seven points. Experts also believe it’ll be a slightly lower-scoring game than anticipated, with 52% picking the under of 48 points.

In their first meeting of the season, the Cardinals crushed the Rams, 41-10. However, Puka Nacua was not available for that game, Cooper Kupp suffered an ankle injury in the loss and Tre’Davious White was starting for the Rams.

Things look much different now with Nacua, Kupp and Darious Williams all healthy, as well as the offensive line being at full strength. The Cardinals, on the other hand, are banged up and have nothing to play for after being eliminated from playoff contention last week.

The Rams won four straight games and covered the spread in all four of them, so they’re rolling right now and hoping to keep the momentum going on Saturday night.

NFL picks against the spread: Week 17, Seahawks at Bears

Check out our picks for Seahawks at Bears in Week 17

Week 17 in the NFL kicked off with two games on Christmas Day, so the Thursday night game is not the start of the week. It is a game that matters in the NFC West as the Seattle Seahawks are on the road facing the Chicago Bears.

The 8-7 Seahawks trail the L.A. Rams in the NFC West by a game. They have lost two in a row. The Bears are 4-11 and have lost nine games in a row.

Their game kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET from Soldier Field and you can watch the game on Amazon Prime Video.

The Seahawks are -225 favorites on the moneyline and 4.5-point favorites with the spread. The projected total is set at 41.5 with the Over and Under at -110 odds, per BetMGM Sportsbook.

Below are our betting picks and predictions for the Seahawks vs. Bears game.
