Deebo Samuel had a wholesome interview with 12-year-old Young Dylan on Nickelodeon broadcast

He crushed it.

Deebo Samuel had himself a monster game in the San Francisco 49ers’ NFC Wild Card win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, putting up 110 total yards (72 yards rushing) and a touchdown.

He also played part in a particularly awesome moment on the Nickelodeon broadcast.

For the second straight year, Nickelodeon put together a kid-focused telecast on Wild Card weekend. The viewing experience was full of CGI slime, a rogue F-bomb and Nickelodeon personalities.

But NFL fans especially enjoyed the postgame interview Samuel had with Dylan Gilmer — the 12-year-old star of Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan on Nickelodeon. And for good reason: Dylan crushed it as sideline reporter.

Mics picked up a loud F-bomb during the Nickelodeon broadcast of Niners-Cowboys

The tradition continues.

The NFL was always taking a bit of a risk when it signed off on the Nickelodeon broadcast for Wild Card weekend. After all, football is a violent game, and there are microphones everywhere. They can throw in all the CGI slime they want, but a rogue F-bomb was bound to find its way onto the broadcast.

It happened last year during the Saints-Bears playoff game, which drew a hilarious reaction from the Nickelodeon crew. Well, the tradition continued on Sunday.

Late in the second quarter of the Niners-Cowboys NFC Wild Card matchup, a player — likely George Kittle — shouted an F-bomb loud enough for the mics to pick up for all the kids watching on Nick.

This year, it didn’t seem like the broadcast crew acknowledged the foul language. But we heard it. We all did.

But let’s be honest, this is going to become an annual tradition for the Nick broadcast unless it actively tries to mute out cursing. We can check back here next year.

The NFL on Nickelodeon broadcast is back for Cowboys-49ers with more slime than ever

Bring in the slime!!!

Amidst the NFL’s wild card weekend, football fans were treated to yet another wonderfully wholesome — and absolutely slime-filled — Nickelodeon broadcast.

Much like last year, Nickelodeon is airing a version of Sunday’s San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys NFC wild card matchup with the intention to appeal to the younger audience. Of course, much like the first broadcast, it’s also attracting the attention of the millennial crowd which grew up on Nickelodeon, if Twitter is any indication anyway.

The biggest draw of the Nickelodeon broadcast is the wildly wacky graphics used to make it more visually appealing to kids. Specifically, the use of Nickelodeon’s famous neon green slime is featured in some form nearly every few minutes.

Seriously! For starters, the broadcast dumped CGI slime all over the field right before kickoff.

And gave us this huge slime monster!

Of course, when the 49ers gave us the first touchdown of the game early, fans were treated to a slime zone touchdown celebration.

Even field goals got the slime zone treatment, with a hilarious cameo from SpongeBob SquarePants too.

Sure, the Nickelodeon broadcast may be cheesy — and filled with lots of slime — but it’s adorable fun at the end of the day. And really, isn’t that what we want out of our sports?
