Broncos’ order of picks for 2024 NFL draft

The Broncos hold eight picks to use in the 2024 NFL draft, including 12th overall in the first round.

We’ve reached April and it’s officially draft season.

After acquiring two late-round picks from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for wide receiver Jerry Jeudy last month, the Denver Broncos now hold eight picks to use in the 2024 NFL draft.

The Broncos are set to select 12th overall in the first round, but the team does not have a second-round pick after trading for the rights to coach Sean Payton last year. Denver has one pick in the first, third and fourth rounds, three picks in the fifth round and a pair of sixth-round picks.

Here’s a look at the Broncos’ complete order of picks in the 2024 NFL draft:

Round 1: 12th overall (own pick)
Round 3: 76th overall (own pick)
Round 4: 121st overall (via MIA
Round 5: 136th overall (via CLE
Round 5: 145th overall (via NYJ
Round 5: 147th overall (own pick)
Round 6: 203rd overall (via CLE
Round 6: 207th overall (via SF

So, what happened to the team’s original fourth-, sixth- and seventh-round picks? The fourth went to the New York Jets in 2022 as part of the Jake Martin trade, the sixth went to the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 as part of the Kenny Young trade, and the seventh went to the San Francisco 49ers in 2023 as part of the Randy Gregory trade.

The 2024 NFL draft will be held in Detroit from April 25-27.

Broncos’ updated order of NFL picks after Jerry Jeudy trade

After trading Jerry Jeudy, the Broncos now hold eight picks to use in the 2024 NFL draft.

The NFL awarded compensatory picks on Friday afternoon (the Denver Broncos, as expected, did not get any comp picks), and that means the official order of the 2024 NFL draft has now been finalized.

The Broncos hold eight draft picks this year, including the 12th overall pick in the first round. Denver does not hold a second-round pick following the trade for coach Sean Payton last year, but the Broncos do have first, third- and fourth-round selections.

Denver acquired two more late-round picks on Saturday when they agreed to trade wide receiver Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns.

With the order now confirmed by the league, here’s a look at Denver’s official order of picks in the 2024 NFL draft:

Round 1: 12th overall (own pick)
Round 3: 76th overall (own pick)
Round 4: 121st overall (via MIA
Round 5: 136th overall (via CLE
Round 5: 145th overall (via NYJ
Round 5: 147th overall (own pick)
Round 6: 203rd overall (via CLE
Round 6: 207th overall (via SF

So, what happened to the team’s original fourth-, sixth- and seventh-round picks? The fourth went to the New York Jets in 2022 as part of the Jake Martin trade, the sixth went to the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 as part of the Kenny Young trade, and the seventh went to the San Francisco 49ers in 2023 as part of the Randy Gregory trade.

The 2024 NFL draft will be held in Detroit from April 25-27.

Chargers’ 2024 NFL draft picks set

Here’s where the Chargers are currently set to pick.

Now that the compensatory picks have been distributed to teams, the 2024 NFL draft order is set from the first to the very last pick.

Including the one compensatory pick awarded, the Chargers have eight selections in this year’s draft.

Here’s where L.A. is currently set to pick:

  • Round 1: No. 5 overall
  • Round 2: No. 37 overall
  • Round 3: No. 69 overall
  • Round 4: No. 104 overall
  • Round 5: No. 139 overall
  • Round 6: No. 180 overall
  • Round 7: No. 225 overall
  • Round 7: No. 253 overall (compensatory)

NFL Draft order: Raiders full slate of picks

These are the Raiders 8 picks in the upcoming draft

Friday the NFL released the full list of draft picks and thus the full Draft order. Here are the picks the Raiders currently have:

Round 1, pick 13
Round 2, pick 44
Round 3, pick 77
Round 4, pici 111
Round 5, pick 147
Round 6, pick 207 (via KC)
Round 7, pick 223 (via NE)
Round 7, pick 229 (via MIN)

Undoubtedly this will not be where the Raiders end up making all their picks. Most teams make trades during the draft, up and down the board. Heck, they already traded away their sixth and seventh round selections and acquired different picks in those rounds in other trades.

Probably best to think of this as the draft ammunition the Raiders have to work with. Along with future draft selections should they look to package them in a trade. Say, for instance, to jump up in the first round to try and get one of this year’s top quarterback prospects.

Then they can use their remaining picks to try and address one of their many needs.

2024 NFL draft: Chargers awarded one compensatory pick

The Chargers will receive a seventh-round comp pick for their loss of Drue Tranquill.

The Chargers will have an extra pick in the NFL draft.

Los Angeles will receive a seventh-round comp pick for their loss of linebacker Drue Tranquill, who signed with the Chiefs last offseason.

Tranquill appeared in 16 games (eight starts), amassing 78 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and a pass deflected.

For his efforts, Tranquill recently re-signed with Kansas City on a three-year, $19 million deal with $13 million guaranteed.

Compensatory picks are awarded to teams who lose out on significant players in free agency and are awarded to those teams the next year.

The pick given to teams is calculated using a formula that includes several qualifiers, including the average per year (APY) of a contract signed, the percentage of snaps a player plays, and their awards and accolades for their performance, such as the AP All-Pro list or PFWA’s list.

The Chargers currently have eight picks for April’s draft.

Broncos’ projected order of picks for 2024 NFL draft

Before the NFL hands out comp picks, here’s a look at the Broncos’ projected order of picks in the 2024 NFL draft.

Following the conclusion of the NFL combine, attention will now turn to free agency, which unofficially begins one week from today.

After free agency, the next big event on the offseason calendar will be the 2024 NFL draft in April.

The Denver Broncos currently hold six picks to use in the 2024 NFL draft, but they would like to acquire more selections through trades this spring.

Denver does not hold a second-round pick following the trade for coach Sean Payton last year. The team’s exact placement of picks beyond the third round is still to be determined pending the NFL handing out compensatory picks. While we wait for the official order to be released, here’s a quick look at the team’s projected picks (keep in mind this is not official).

Round 1: own pick (12th overall)
Round 3: via NO (Sean Payton trade)
Round 4: via MIA (Bradley Chubb trade)
Round 5: own pick
Round 5: via NYJ (Jake Marin trade)
Round 6: via SF (Randy Gregory trade)

We won’t know the Broncos’ official order of picks until the NFL confirms it, but here’s our best effort at breaking down all the trades:

  • Denver’s original 2nd-round pick went to the Saints as part of the Payton trade.
  • The Broncos’ original 3rd-round pick went to the Seahawks as part of the Riley Moss draft-day trade in 2023.
  • Denver’s original 4th-round pick was traded to the Jets as part of the Jake Martin trade in 2022. Denver got a 5th-round pick from NY in the deal.
  • The Broncos got a 4th-round pick from the Dolphins as part of the Bradley Chubb trade in 2022.
  • Denver’s original 6th-round pick went to the Rams as part of the Kenny Young trade in 2021.
  • The Broncos got a 6th-round pick from the 49ers as part of the Randy Gregory trade last season.
  • Denver got a 7th-round pick back from San Francisco, but the Broncos sent a 7th-round pick to L.A. as part of the Young trade three years ago, then they traded a 7th-round pick to the Saints for kicker Wil Lutz last year, leaving them without a last-round pick.

Because of the number of trades Denver has made, it’s not exactly clear which picks are original and which are from other teams, but it looks like the Broncos should have six selections before making any additional trades. The 2024 NFL draft will be held in Detroit from April 25-27.
