George Pickens’ pick keeps UGA Twitter buzzing

Georgia receiver George Pickens was selected with the No. 52 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft by the Pittsburg Steelers.

Rapper Drake wins $100K bet after Falcons draft Drake London

Rapper Drake cashed in on a $100K bet he made on USC’s Drake London to be the first receiver drafted on Thursday night.

The Falcons answered a lot of questions with their first-round selection of USC wide receiver Drake London on Thursday night.

Many teams viewed London as the top receiver in the class, so Atlanta was justified in selecting the 6-4 wideout eighth overall. However, the Falcons aren’t the only ones benefiting from the drafting London. Rapper Drake cashed in on a $100k bet he made that on the USC standout to be the first wide receiver selected in the draft.

The rapper won a total of $225,000 when London’s name was called on Thursday night. London’s selection came two spots higher than the next receiver taken off the board, Ohio State’s Garrett Wilson, at pick No. 10 to the Jets.

Why did Drake bet on a WR named Drake to be drafted first? Because it’s about the most Drake thing the Canadian rapper has ever done.

Twitter reacts: Georgia sets program, NFL record for first round picks

What a day to be a Georgia Bulldog! Twitter is on FIRE

The University of Georgia has set a program record with five NFL draft picks in the first round. Which is also an NFL record for the most defenders ever taken from one team in draft history.

Lewis Cine was taken by the Minnesota Vikings with the last pick of the first round. Devonte Wyatt was chosen at No. 28 by the Green Bay Packers, joining teammate Quay Walker, who was chosen by the Packers at No. 22. Travon Walker went No. 1 overall to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Jordan Davis went at No. 13 to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Here’s how UGA Twitter is reacting to the record setting night:

That extends the UGA record for picks in the first round with five.

Cine was the unquestioned leader of the Bulldogs secondary that squashed opponents as one of the best defensive units in the country.

In 2021, the Texas native racked up a team-leading 73 stops, team-high nine pass breakups and won the Defensive MVP of the national title game.

That’s a program RECORD for picks in the first round (4)

Georgia defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt has been selected as the No. 28 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers.

Wyatt marks the 4th UGA defender taken in the first 28 picks, which sets a record for total number of Georgia Bulldogs to be taken in the first round.

Wyatt will join teammate Quay Walker, who was the Packers’ selection at No. 22 overall, in Green Bay.

Wyatt, a Decatur Ga., native, was a force on the inside of a historic defense. He finished with 39 stops, 2.5 sacks, seven tackles for loss and 27 pressures.
