“The past 3 years have been nothing short of an experience. That being said, I’m proud to announce I will be entering the transfer portal for my last two years of eligibility. I truly thank all my Brothers, Coaches, and Nebraska Family that had my back from day one. I’ll keep y’all updated on what’s next!”

The Omaha native spent three seasons at Nebraska and did not see the field. He committed to Nebraska after a stellar high school career. at Millard South.

Harris finished his career with 3,468 rushing yards and 52 touchdowns. He was also named to first-team All-Nebraska.

A Nebraska defensive back has announced that he is entering the transfer portal. Javier Morton posted his statement on social media.

Dear University of Nebraska and the Football Team. I want to express my deep gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of your program. However, after careful consideration and discussion with my family and coaches, I have decided to enter the transfer portal. I appreciate all the support and guidance provided by the coaches and staff during my time here, and I will always cherish the memories and experiences gained from being a part of the team. Thank you for everything, and I wish the program and the team all the best in the future.

Morton was in his second season with the Cornhuskers after transferring to Lincoln from Garden City (Kan.) Community College. The defensive back only appeared in two games this season, Louisiana Tech and Michigan.

He appeared in eight games last season and recorded two tackles.

Former Husker defensive back transfers to Syracuse

A former Nebraska defensive back has found his new school.

A former Nebraska defensive back has found his new school. Myles Farmer will transfer to Syracuse for the 2023 college football season.

Head coach Matt Rhule suspended Farmer as fall camp began for the Huskers. Rhule said to the media on Monday that Farmer’s suspension was for simple things, nothing major.

“I love Myles,” Rhule said. “He’s a competitive kid. It’s so hard when you have a new coach and they have different standards than you’re used to, so I get that. We’ve been patient with a lot of guys. We’ll see what happens with Myles. The ball’s in his court. We’d love him to be here, but whatever he wants to do, I respect him as a man. So whatever he decides, I understand.”

Farmer was also cited by Lincoln police with a DUI back in November 2022 and spent seven days on house arrest after pleading no contest to the charge.

In 11 games last season, Farmer recorded 73 tackles which was good enough for second on the team. In his four seasons at Nebraska, Farmer played in 31 games and earned 16 starts.

He recorded 110 tackles, eight passes defended, and four interceptions. Farmer will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

A Nebraska basketball player has been named as a participant in illegal sports betting during his time at the University of Iowa.

A Nebraska basketball player has been named as a participant in illegal sports betting during his time at the University of Iowa. Transfer guard Ahron Ulis is accused of making 1,850 wagers totaling $34,800 on FanDuel, including bets on NCAA basketball and football.

The Cedar Rapid Gazette was the first to break the news regarding the Husker point guard. It has also been reported that the transfer also placed at least one bet on an Iowa sporting event.

While sports betting itself is not illegal in the state of Iowa, you must be over the age of 21 to place a bet. Ulis is accused of placing at least 740 wagers while under the legal age.

Basketball coach Fred Hoiberg talks about Iowa transfer

It was back in May that we reported on a former Iowa Hawkeye point guard transferring to Nebraska.

It was back in May that we reported on a former Iowa Hawkeye point guard transferring to Nebraska. Ahron Ulis is a 6-3 190 junior from Chicago, Illinois.

During the 2022-23 season, Ulis averaged 6.1 points, 1.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. Head basketball coach Fred Hoiberg tells Huskers.com that he’s excited to see Ahron contribute to the Cornhuskers this season.

“Ahron is a player we’ve gotten to know well having faced him five times over the last three seasons. Ahron brings a lot of valuable Big Ten experience to our program. He possesses a very competitive defensive mindset, while offensively he is a talented ball handler and playmaker who is good in transition.”

Receiver talked about why he returned to Nebraska

A Nebraska wide receiver recently discussed his return to the Cornhusker football team.

A Nebraska wide receiver recently spoke with the media and discussed his return to the Cornhusker football team. Zavier Betts left the Cornhuskers in March of 2022 but did not officially enter the transfer portal until January 3rd of, 2023.

In 18 games at Nebraska, he had 32 catches for 417 yards and one touchdown, with an average of 14.3 yards per reception. He recently appeared on Sports Nightly to talk about his reasons for returning to Nebraska.

“It was honestly a really easy decision for me to come back and to play. But I really did it for my family and then for the fans, really, because I know a lot of people were sad when I left. Honestly, I felt like I let everybody down, so I wanted to come back and show everybody.”

He talked about the importance of his relationship with head coach Matt Rhule.

“Really, it was Coach Rhule who wanted to help me work on myself as a person. He knew what I could do on the field and where his guys could take me on the field. But our main focus has been off the field.”

Nebraska will kick off the 2023 season on August 31 at Minnesota. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 pm start time.

Husker softball adds player via transfer portal

The Nebraska softball team added a transfer player to its roster over the weekend.

The Nebraska softball team added a transfer player to its roster over the weekend. Catcher Peyton Cody will join the Husker squad after transferring from St. John’s.

Cody played five seasons at St. John’s but received a sixth season from the NCAA due to COVID and a medical redshirt.

In 149 games, when hit a career .316 batting average with 20 home runs and 100 RBI during her career with the Red Story. Over 40% of her career hits went for extra bases.

Last season she hit .316 with eight home runs and 27 RBI. Head coach Rhonda Revelle says the transfer player is a perfect fit for the Nebraska roster.

“Peyton is a perfect fit for the Red Team,” Nebraska Head Coach Rhonda Revelle said. “She is a great competitor with a big bat. Peyton is a catcher by trade but has the versatility to play multiple positions. She has a love and passion for the game, and we are anxious to have her join our team.”

Cody started her career at Mission Viejo High School. She will have one year of eligibility remaining.

Another day and another addition to the Nebraska football team’s roster via the transfer portal. Former Texas wide receiver Marcus Washington has committed to the Cornhuskers for the 2022 season. Washington had 18 receptions, 277 yards, and two touchdowns in only five games for Steve Sarkisian last season. He is the second former Longhorn, along with quarterback Casey Thompson, to join the Cornhuskers this off-season.

The St. Louis, Missouri native, is the third wide receiver to join Nebraska via the portal. He’ll be joining former LSU receiver Trey Palmer and former New Mexico State wide-out Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda as the transfers joining the wide receiver’s room this season. This is the second time that Nebraska has actively recruited the wideout. Washington will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Nebraska could add another top prospect to the wide receiver room via the transfer portal.

This weekend, the Nebraska Cornhuskers continue to remain active on the transfer portal by hosting a former Texas wide receiver. Marcus Washington is visiting Lincoln this weekend. The St. Louis, Missouri native, would be the second former Longhorn (quarterback Casey Thompson) and third wide receiver (Trey Palmer, Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda) to join Nebraska via the portal should he decide to commit to the Huskers. In 2021, Washington had 18 receptions, 277 yards, and two touchdowns in only five games.

This is the second time that Nebraska has actively recruited the wideout. Washington was pursued by the Huskers coming out of high school. He would have two seasons of eligibility should he join his former Texas teammate. Fellow Big Ten team Purdue and Utah are both actively recruiting the former 4-star prospect.

Nebraska’s transfer portal class ranks Top 10

A major recruiting service has ranked the Huskers in the top ten.

A major recruiting service thinks highly of Nebraska’s transfer portal additions heading into the 2022 season. 247Sports has updated its transfer portal rankings, and the Cornhuskers have cracked the top ten. The Cornhuskers currently sit #10 with a composite score of 54.41, right behind #9 Miami (54.72) and just in front of #11 Texas with 54.25.

It should be no surprise that USC is ranked #1, far outdistancing the #2 and #3 teams, Ole Miss and LSU. Rounding out the top ten at #4 Oklahoma, #5 UCLA, #6 Alabama, #7 South Carolina, and  #8 Arkansas. And the Huskers aren’t done as they are hosting former Texas wide receiver Marcus Washington will be making an official visit to Lincoln this weekend.
