The Nebraska softball team added a transfer player to its roster over the weekend. Catcher Peyton Cody will join the Husker squad after transferring from St. John’s.

Cody played five seasons at St. John’s but received a sixth season from the NCAA due to COVID and a medical redshirt.

In 149 games, when hit a career .316 batting average with 20 home runs and 100 RBI during her career with the Red Story. Over 40% of her career hits went for extra bases.

Last season she hit .316 with eight home runs and 27 RBI. Head coach Rhonda Revelle says the transfer player is a perfect fit for the Nebraska roster.

“Peyton is a perfect fit for the Red Team,” Nebraska Head Coach Rhonda Revelle said. “She is a great competitor with a big bat. Peyton is a catcher by trade but has the versatility to play multiple positions. She has a love and passion for the game, and we are anxious to have her join our team.”

Cody started her career at Mission Viejo High School. She will have one year of eligibility remaining.
