Huskers to get visit from class of 2026 running back on Saturday

Nebraska continues to add to Saturday’s growing visitor list.

This Saturday will be a big visit weekend as the Nebraska Cornhuskers welcome the Colorado Buffaloes to Memorial Stadium. One of the visitors will be 2026 running back DeZephen Walker.

Walker is the 13th overall running back in the class of 2026 and the second overall player from the state of Missouri. He has no crystal ball predictions at this time.

Walker has an extensive offer sheet that includes Auburn, Georgia, Illinois, and Iowa. The Missouri native has 20 offers in total.

He had 132 carries for 671 yards and five touchdowns last season for Raymore-Peculiar High School. Walker had four games of 100-plus yards.

The running back is part of a visit list that is growing by the day. Most recently, it was announced that four-star wideout Cortez Mills would also be coming to Lincoln for Saturday’s contest.

This is another extensive visit on a list that is growing by the day. It just signifies how important Saturday’s Colorado game is.

Huskers LB target Christian Jones sees coaching staff’s vision

Christian Jones is a four-star linebacker in the 2025 class.

A class of 2025 linebacker is planning a visit to Lincoln this weekend. Nebraska target Christian Jones will be in town for next weekend’s big game against Colorado. Jones is impressed with what Nebraska brings to the table and spoke to On3’s Steve Wilfong (subscription required) about his most recent visit.

Jones has been high on Nebraska’s priority list for quite some time now. He is the 21st overall linebacker in the 2025 class and the top player in his class from the state of Nebraska per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Husker247’s Brian Christopherson recently predicted that he would commit to Nebraska.

In the meantime, he clearly understands the message the Nebraska football coaching staff is trying to convey.

“They want the best players in the state to come play for Nebraska. That’s the big message.”

Getting Jones on campus for the Colorado game is certainly a positive sign. He has been to campus multiple times over the last year, and his recruitment is still very much open.

Top class of 2026 offensive lineman to visit for Colorado game

Jackson Cantwell is a five-star offensive tackle for Nixa High School in Nixa, Missouri.

A top class of 2026 offensive lineman has released his game-day visit schedule, and Nebraska made the list. Jackson Cantwell is a five-star offensive tackle for Nixa High School in Nixa, Missouri.

Cantwell will visit Nebraska on Saturday, September 7, when the Huskers host the Colorado Buffaloes at Memorial Stadium. He will also visit Mizzou on September 21, Georgia on October 5, Alabama on October 26, and LSU on November 9.

Cantwell excels at sports other than football. He is the 2023-24 Gatorade Missouri Boys Track & Field Player of the Year and a two-time Missouri Class 5A state champion in the shot put.

It should be no surprise that Cantwell would excel at the shotput. His father, Christian Cantwell, is a five-time world champion and won the silver medal in the shot put in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

His mother, Terri Cantwell, was also an accomplished athlete. The native of Crete, Nebraska, participated in the 2000 Syndey Olympics and was a two-time NCAA shot put champion at Southern Methodist.

2025 five-star recruit Michael Terry III sets Nebraska visit date

Michael Terry III last took a visit to Nebraska on July 29.

Five-star athlete Michael Terry III will visit Nebraska for their game against the Colorado Buffaloes on September 7, On3’s Steve Wiltfong reported. It was previously reported that he was coming back to Lincoln for a third visit, and now we know when he will be returning.

Terry is the top overall athlete in the 2025 class and the seventh overall player in his class from the state of Texas, according to the 247Sports rankings. Currently, he has one Crystal Ball prediction for the Texas Longhorns.

Wide receivers coach Garret McGuire is the primary for Terry’s recruitment. McGuire has had success on the recruiting trail recently, landing 2025 four-star wide receiver Isaiah Mozee on August 9.

Terry would add to a strong 2025 wide receiver class that includes Mozee and Bryson Hayes. There is also a ton of talent currently on the roster, all built around quarterback Dylan Raiola. Terry would certainly be a strong addition to the wide receiver room.

It will be interesting to see how Terry’s recruitment plays out. Nevertheless, getting him on campus for one of the year’s biggest games is a step in the right direction.

Huskers set to host 2026 four-star Miami Hurricanes commit

Jordan Campbell gives the Huskers another talented linebacker in the fold.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are preparing to host a 2026 four-star linebacker next month. Jordan Campbell plans to visit Nebraska for the Colorado game on September 7. He is currently committed to the Miami Hurricanes.

Campbell is the sixth-ranked linebacker in the 2026 class and the 14th-ranked player in his class from the state of Florida, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He officially committed to Miami on November 21.

Campbell would be the second Miami commitment to flip to Nebraska over a year. Linebacker Vincent Shavers made the move to Lincoln on Early Signing Day after visiting the program the weekend before.

Campbell played both the wide receiver and linebacker positions in 2023 for Carol City.

This would be yet another big-time visitor for Nebraska football’s contest against Colorado. 2026 four-star quarterback Michael Clayton and 2026 four-star running back Kayden Jones are also visiting for the Colorado contest.

It will be interesting to see if Nebraska can flip Campbell from Miami. The Huskers are still heavily pursuing linebackers for future classes, and Campbell would undoubtedly be able to help that side of the football.

No. 1 tackle to announce commitment on Saturday

Top tackle David Sanders Jr. will announce his decision on August 17th.

The top offensive tackle in the class of 2025 is set to announce his commitment tomorrow. David Sanders Jr. will announce his decision on August 17th.

Sanders will decide between GeorgiaOhio StateTennessee, and Nebraska. The tackle, a five-star prospect, plays for Providence Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is the reigning Gatorade State Player of the Year in North Carolina after helping Providence Day to another state championship.

Nebraska was a late addition to Sanders’s recruitment process. When he announced it back in March, the Cornhuskers were left off his top six, but a visit to the Lincoln campus in May appears to have made an impression.

The Huskers class of 2025 currently holds 18 commitments and is ranked No. 29 in the nation. The group is led by four-star receiver Isaiah Mozee and four-star defensive lineman Malcolm Simpson.

Current projections have the tackle committing to the Tennessee Volunteers. Sanders will make his announcement at 11:30 a.m. CT.

2026 running back Kayden Jones is one of the top players in the Midwest.

2026 four-star running back Kayden Jones has scheduled a visit with Nebraska football on September 7. This was reported by his On3 profile.

He is the 14th overall running back in the 2026 class and the top overall player in his class from the state of Oklahoma per the On3 Recruiting rankings. He has several offers, including from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, and Miami.

In recent months, Nebraska football has made it a point to add depth to the running back room. They have one commitment for the 2025 class at the running back position in Conor Booth. They currently have no commitments in the 2026 class, although that could be the main focus in the fall.

Jones would be a solid addition as Nebraska stacks talent at the running back position.
