WATCH: Jaren Jackson Jr. talks Michigan State basketball brotherhood

Jaren Jackson Jr. went in depth on the brotherhood surrounding Michigan State basketball:

Many people know of the brotherhood and family atmosphere Tom Izzo has built in East Lansing with the Michigan State basketball program. Almost every player that comes through the Spartan program echoes how great of a family atmosphere there is within the program.

Former MSU star, and current Memphis Grizzlies star, Jaren Jackson Jr. joined in on that line of thinking, and shared recently on a podcast about that brotherhood including a story about Draymond Green.

The Jaren Jackson stat padding conspiracy theory, debunked

Y’all need to leave Jaren Jackson Jr. alone.

It goes without saying, but the internet can be an extremely weird place sometimes.

The weirdness reared its head on Saturday when a Reddit user posted an NBA conspiracy theory revolving around Jaren Jackson. Basically, the crux of the theory is that the Memphis Grizzlies’ team of stat keepers are fudging Jackson’s numbers to build him a better defensive player of the year case despite him missing the first 16 games of the season following an offseason foot surgery.

The Reddit user put a lot of work into the post. There were stats, videos, theories and so much more. Eventually, the post made its way from Reddit to Twitter. And, of course, it started to spread like wildfire.

People really started buying into this theory that the statisticians at Grizzlies games have some sort of bet on Jackson winning the Defensive Player of the Year award.

But, y’all. Let me be honest. If you’re a new NBA fan? This might make a ton of sense to you. Maybe you just haven’t been around the game or paying attention to the game all that much over the years.

If you’ve been around, though? This stuff isn’t surprising at all to you. You’ve seen this before so many times. It’s nothing new and probably doesn’t have anything to do with any sort of bet.

Let me explain.

WATCH: Jaren Jackson Jr. throws down posterizing dunk

Jaren Jackson Jr. made another posterizing dunk on Friday:

Jaren Jackson Jr. has had a knack for making highlight plays throughout his basketball career. That didn’t change on Friday night in the Memphis Grizzlies game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Early in the second quarter, Jackson got the ball at the top of the key and he would put the ball on the ground and took it to the rack, finishing it off with a posterizing dunk.

You can watch the crazy dunk here:

Every player in Philadelphia 76ers history who has worn No. 14

Here is a list of all 34 players who have worn the No. 14 in the history of the Philadelphia 76ers.

It’s summertime in the NBA, so it’s time to learn some history. The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the older franchises in the NBA. Their history dates to the 1949-50 season.

With that longevity, the team has had hundreds of players come through the City of Brotherly Love. Sixers Wire looks at the No. 14, which has been worn by a whopping 34 of those players in the history of the franchise.

This running series will go through all of the uniform numbers worn in franchise history. The previous edition of this series was a list compiling the seven players who have worn the No. 15.

Here is the list of the 34 who have worn No. 14 in Sixers history:

This will never stop being one of my favorite things in sports. After years of friendship, including a stint together at Michigan State basketball, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Xavier Tillman Sr. are now in their second season playing together on the red-hot Memphis Grizzlies.

In Tuesday’s game against the Utah Jazz on Tuesday, Jackson and Tillman hooked up for some nice little two-man play.

Grizzlies season preview: How strong is Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson duo?

With Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson, both only recently 22 years old, the Memphis Grizzlies may have the best duo of young players in the NBA.

With Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson, both only recently 22 years old, the Memphis Grizzlies may have the best duo of young players in the NBA.

Memphis is building well around Morant, who is clearly one of the league’s top rising stars. They still have some weaknesses, like an ability for anyone else beyond Morant to crate their own offense off the bounce. But they have enough depth — and enough tenacity on defense — to at least put up a fight on both sides of the ball.

WATCH: Jaren Jackson Jr. with incredible sequence in playoff debut

Michigan State basketball alumni Jaren Jackson Jr. has been making highlight-reel plays since returning from injury. That trend continued:

The Memphis Grizzlies won two play-in games to find themselves as the 8-seed in the NBA’s Western Conference playoffs against the no. 1 seeded Utah Jazz. This would be the first taste of the playoffs for Jaren Jackson and most of the young core with the Grizzlies.

Since returning from injury, Jaren Jackson has been seen making highlight-reel plays, both offensively and defensively.

In the Grizzlies’ Sunday night win over the Jazz, Jackson can be seen making a key play on the defensive end, only to follow it up with a great play on the offensive end a few moments later in a critical spot in the fourth quarter.
