On Tuesday afternoon, [autotag]Nate Oats[/autotag] and the Alabama Crimson Tide men’s basketball team packed their bags and got set to head off to Phoenix to compete in the Final Four.

Coach Oats and the Tide have quite the challenge lying ahead of them taking on the defending national champs, the UConn Huskies who appear to be nearly unbeatable as they make their way through March Madness.

As the basketball team began to make their way to the jet, the Crimson Tide faithful made sure to show up and show their support for this historic Alabama team.

Nate Oats provides injury update on Latrell Wrightsell ahead of Final Four

Will Alabama get its sharp-shooting guard back for the Final Four?

On Tuesday, [autotag]Nate Oats[/autotag] and the Alabama Crimson Tide men’s basketball team left Tuscaloosa to head back west to Phoenix to finish preparing for their Final Four matchup with the UConn Huskies.

Before the team loaded up on the jet, Coach Oats would take time to speak with the media and discuss the upcoming matchup with the infallible Huskies but would also provide the latest on injured senior, sharp-shooting guard, Latrell Wrightsell.

While nothing is set in stone just yet and anything can happen, it does appear that Wrightsell is trending towards being available for the Crimson Tide’s first-ever Final Four appearance.

“Today was the first day Wrightsell was able to practice. He was limited in what he could do, but glad he was out there. He’s got day-to-day evaluations. Based on how tomorrow morning’s evaluation goes, we’ll see where he goes the rest of the week. Our hope is that he’s gonna be able to play on Saturday, though.”

Wrightsell’s availability against UConn is critical if the Crimson Tide want to try and pull off the upset. Having him back in the lineup would allow Alabama to have better spacing on offense and bring the Huskies’ shot-blocking center, Donovan Clingan away from the basket.

What’s the statistical chance Alabama beats UCONN in the Final Four?

Alabama basketball has made it all the way to the Final Four in March Madness, but what chance does the Crimson Tide have in defeating the Huskies?

Alabama Crimson Tide basketball has made it to the Final Four, the first in the program’s history. This March Madness run has been memorable for head coach Nate Oats and his team, but they now face the tough task of taking on the UCONN Huskies with a trip to the national championship on the line in Phoenix.

Star players for Alabama like [autotag]Mark Sears[/autotag], [autotag]Grant Nelson[/autotag], [autotag]Nick Pringle[/autotag] and even [autotag]Jarin Stevenson[/autotag] have played huge roles in getting this team this far in the tournament. UCONN, a No. 1 seed, has been a juggernaut and looks practically unbeatable.

ESPN’s advanced analytics broke down the chance each team has to win this game. In short, it does not look good for the Tide.

The Huskies have a 71.6% chance of advancing past the Final Four, which gives Alabama only a 28.4% chance of keeping its national championship hopes alive.

Alabama recently received some good news from guard Latrell Wrightsell, who has been out since the round of 32 with a head injury. He told reporters that he plans on returning and playing against UCONN.

When will Alabama Basketball and UCONN tip off in the Final Four?

On Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 8:49 p.m. ET, the Crimson Tide and Huskies will get things underway in Phoenix.

Alabama’s Latrell Wrightsell shares March Madness injury update for Final Four

Alabama guard Latrell Wrightsell has been out of the lineup with a head injury for two March Madness games. Now, there’s an update ahead of the Final Four.

Alabama Crimson Tide basketball guard Latrell Wrightsell has been a key contributor for the team’s offense but has missed a few March Madness games due to an injury suffered in the round of 32. Now, there’s a Final Four injury update.

Despite missing games against the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Clemson Tigers, Alabama was able to get by and earn a few wins, but his absence was felt.

After the Elite Eight win that sent the Crimson Tide to its first Final Four in program history, Wrightsell told Blake Byler of Bama Central that he plans on being back for the biggest game in Alabama basketball history against the No. 1 seed UCONN Huskies.

The Crimson Tide is the underdog heading into the Final Four matchup, but they can see it competitive and have a chance at winning if its top contributors are healthy and performing at a high level. Mark Sears, Grant Nelson, Jarin Stevenson and Nick Pringle are difference-makers. Possibly having Wrightsell back would be a huge addition for Nate Oats and his team.

Alabama basketball seeking revenge from early season loss to Clemson

Can Alabama get its revenge on Clemson and advance the its first Final Four?

The early portion of the 2023-24 regular season was a tough one for [autotag]Nate Oats[/autotag] and the Alabama Crimson Tide men’s basketball team, suffering some non-conference losses including one to the Clemson Tigers.

The Tide will now have the unique opportunity to seek revenge for the home loss in the Elite Eight matchup on Saturday night from inside the Crypto.com Arena, in Los Angeles, California.

Despite an injury-riddled roster, Alabama is playing some of its best basketball of the season and has a chance to make Crimson Tide history if they can win and advance to the Final Four, the first in program history.

What went wrong for Alabama in early season loss to the Tigers?

Like most of the regular season, Alabama struggled defensively against Clemson. The Tigers shot over 50% from the field and pummeled the Tide from behind the arc making 11 out of their 21 three-point attempts.

PJ Hall, Chase Hunter, and Joseph Girard III combined to go 10-17 from three which put the nail in the coffin for the Crimson Tide.

On the other end of the floor, Alabama struggled to shoot the ball. The Tide shot just 34% from the field and 31% from three.

Why it will be different this time around

The chances of Clemson shooting over 50%  combined with Alabama shooting 30% from the field again are slim. Clemson is a great defensive team, but this Alabama team is firing on all cylinders and appears to be on a mission to make history.

Alabama’s Nick Pringle in walking boot, updates injury status ahead of Elite Eight against Clemson

Nick Pringle may be in a walking boot, but he’ll be available for Alabama basketball’s Elite Eight March Madness matchup against the Clemson Tigers.

Standout Alabama Crimson Tide basketball forward, Nick Pringle, suffered a foot injury during the Sweet 16 win over North Carolina Tar Heels. As Pringle, Grant Nelson and others prepare to take on the Clemson Tigers in the Elite Eight, we get an injury update.

While wearing a walking boot on his hurt foot, Pringle confidently said that he would be playing in the program’s second-ever Elite Eight appearance.

Even when hurt against North Carolina, Pringle was determined to keep playing. He could be seen limping while on the court, but managed to get to his spots, play some quality defense and hustle up and down the floor.

“Bro, we’re in the Elite Eight. There’s nothing that’s gonna keep me out,” Pringle told Blake Byler of Bama Central.

Pringle has a large presence on the court and his absence would certainly be felt. Having him available for the matchup is big, positive new for head coach Nate Oats and this team.

What time will the Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Clemson Tigers tip-off in the Elite Eight?

Alabama and Clemson will battle for a spot in the Final Four, which would be a first for both programs, in Los Angeles tomorrow, March 30 at 8:49 p.m. ET.

Alabama basketball’s Grant Nelson made basketball history against North Carolina in Sweet 16

Alabama basketball star Grant Nelson’s performance in the Sweet 16 was not just impressive, it was generational. A March Madness legend has been formed.

Alabama basketball standout Grant Nelson is only in his first year with the Crimson Tide after transferring in from North Dakota State. After an impressive March Madness performance in the Sweet 16 win over North Carolina, Nelson has become a household name and a tournament hero.

While records are broken all the time and history is constantly being made, what Nelson did against the Tarheels is unprecedented in the last 25 years. Not just in college basketball. In every major league (NBA, WNBA, Division I college basketball men and women).

In a post to social media by OptaSTATS, Nelson is the only basketball player to have recorded over 20 points, over 10 rebounds, over five blocks, over 10 made free throws, a field goal percentage of over 60% and a three-point percentage of 100%.

Nelson’s performance against the Tar Heels was not just impressive, it was generational and deserves to be remembered for years to come.

Nelson and the Crimson Tide will now look to build off of this win as the team takes on Clemson on Saturday in the Elite Eight, where the winner, no matter which team it is, will be advancing to its first-ever Final Four.
