4-star LB Noah Mikhail puts Oregon in his top 3 a month ahead of commitment

Noah Mikhail, the No. 10 linebacker in the class of 2025, placed the Oregon Ducks in his top three schools Tuesday.

Noah Mikhail, one of the top-ranked linebackers in the class of 2025, has narrowed his search to three schools — one of which is Oregon —247Sports’s Blair Angulo reported on Tuesday. His other two choices are USC and Texas A&M.

Mikhail has three official visits scheduled this month, one with each of his top three schools. He will come to Eugene on June 14th and on June 30th, he’ll announce his commitment.

247Sports ranks Mikhail as the No. 10 linebacker in his class and a top-100 player overall. At 6 feet 3 inches and 227 pounds, Mikhail has a balanced build that makes him a physical presence in the middle of the field, but he is also rangy enough to cover the wide sides of the field.

The Oregon Ducks have been active in the 2025 recruiting cycle, but most of their success has been on the offensive side of the ball. Of the Ducks’ seven commits, just two are on defense. One of those defenders, Nasir Wyatt, plays the same position as Mikhail. Wyatt is ranked as the No. 13 LB in 2025, so if the Ducks were to bring in Mikhail, they’d be set up well at LB for seasons to come.

Ducks get commitment from 4-star EDGE Nasir Wyatt

The Oregon Ducks got a commitment from 4-star EDGE Nasir Wyatt, the No. 70 overall player in the 2025 class.

Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks landed one of the best prospects on the West Coast, with 4-star EDGE Nasir Wyatt announcing on TK that he would be committing to the University of Oregon.

Wyatt, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound edge rusher from Mater Dei High School in California, is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 70 overall player in the 2025 class, and the No. 8 EDGE in the nation.

Wyatt has been in Eugene several times over the past couple of years as Lanning and Tosh Lupoi have recruited him heavily since they took over at Oregon. Wyatt is also one of many former Mater Dei players to land with the Ducks, joining Aydin Breland and Jack Ressler from the 2024 class.

Top 70 player in the 2025 class announces offer from Clemson

Four-star linebacker Nasir Wyatt is on the Tigers’ radar.

Dabo Swinney and the Clemson coaching staff have shown interest in one of the top recruits in the 2025 class.

A four-star linebacker in the 2025 class, Nasir Wyatt, took to social media Monday to announce that he received an offer from Clemson. One of the country’s top linebackers and overall players is on the Tigers’ radar.

According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Wyatt ranks as the No. 7 edge and No. 51 overall player in the class. Clemson reaching out to the California product must mean they see something in him, but it might be an uphill battle to land his commitment.

Currently, Wyatt holds five crystal ball predictions for Oregon by 247Sports, with one coming from 247Sports Director of Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfong. We’ll see how much progress the Tigers can make on landing the highly touted recruit.

Ducks land two projections to secure commitments from blue-chip players in 2025 class

The Oregon Ducks picked up a pair of blue-chip crystal ball predictions from Nasir Wyatt and Jadyn Hudson this week.

The Oregon Ducks have been off to a hot start on the 2025 recruiting trail, sitting with one of the top classes in the nation and coming off of a couple-weekend stretch where they hosted some of the most coveted players in the nation.

One of the players that visited — 4-star EDGE Nasir Wyatt — is really starting to trend Oregon’s way. The blue-chip defender from Mater Dei down in California has been projected to land with the Ducks, with a few 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions coming in earlier this month from Steve Wiltfong, Brandon Huffman, and Greg Biggins. On Wednesday, 247Sports analyst Tom Loy also put in a prediction for Wyatt, the No. 2 EDGE and No. 27 player in the 2025 class, to choose Oregon.

Loy also placed another Crystal Ball prediction on Wednesday, saying that 4-star safety Jadyn Hudson is likely to commit to the Oregon Ducks as well. Hudson is rated as the No. 8 safety and No. 96 overall player in the class.

At the moment, Oregon has the No. 11 class in the 2025 cycle, but if they could add both of these players, Dan Lanning would be well on his way to securing another top-5 ranked class this year.

No. 2 EDGE in 2025 class predicted to commit to Oregon Ducks

The Oregon Ducks have picked up a prediction to land 4-star EDGE Nasir Wyatt, the No. 27 overall player in the 2025 class.

The Oregon Ducks put the finishing touches on their historic 2024 recruiting class earlier this week by officially signing 5-star wide receiver Gatlin Bair, but when head coach Dan Lanning spoke on signing day, he was the most excited about how hot of a start the Ducks were on when it comes to the 2025 class.

It’s hard to blame him, too. The Ducks already have the No. 12 class in the nation for 2025, and they are seemingly in a great position for several of the top-ranked prospects in the nation. One of those top-ranked prospects — 4-star EDGE Nasir Wyatt — is now trending to commit to the Ducks when all is said and done.

Earlier this week, a pair of Crystal Ball predictions from 247Sports analysts Steve Wiltfong and Greg Biggins came in for Oregon to land the elite defender from Mater Dei in California.

Wyatt is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 27 overall player in the class, and the No. 2 EDGE in the nation.

Oregon has been heavily recruiting Wyatt for over a year now, and he was on campus earlier this winter with one of the most elite group of prep prospects we’ve ever seen in Eugene. He would be right at home in Eugene, where former Mater Dei stars Aydin Breland and Jack Ressler signed with the Ducks this past cycle.

Blue-chip Golden State linebacker recruit sets Florida visit date

The Gators will get this coveted Left Coast defender on campus next weekend.

The recruiting grind continues for Billy Napier and the Florida football program as they work to convince the top prep prospects in the nation to come join the Gators in Gainesville.

The team has undergone some staff changes since the end of the regular season but Napier and Co. have remained on the ball throughout the process. The school re-offered a scholarship to four-star linebacker [autotag]Nasir Wyatt[/autotag] out of Santa Ana (California) Mater Dei following the shakeup and the blue-chip recruit set his visit date with the Orange and Blue this week.

The Golden State product is set to arrive in town on Friday, Feb. 2, and will remain for the program’s junior day on Saturday. He offered the following on the path of his with the Gators’ recruitment so far.

“I haven’t really been in touch with Florida since Jamar Chaney was there,” Wyatt told Gators Online. “He had left and went to Western Kentucky, so I’ve been building a relationship with (linebackers coach Ron) Roberts. We’ve been chopping it up for quite some time and he came to Mater Dei and saw how I played. He offered me at the beginning of my sophomore year, so I’ve been building a relationship with coach Roberts.”

Wyatt is ranked No. 27 overall and No. 2 at the edge rusher position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at No. 43 overall and 4 nationally at linebacker. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine favors the USC Trojans, giving them a 51.6% chance of landing him, followed by the Oregon Ducks (13.4%), UCLA Bruins (6.0%) and California Golden Bears (5.0%).

5-star edge puts Ducks among top schools ahead of commitment

5-star EDGE puts Ducks among top schools ahead of commitment

Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks continue to put themselves in a good spot when it comes to recruiting in the 2025 and 2026 classes.

The Ducks already have the No. 5 class in the nation for the 2025 cycle with four commitments, and they picked up a five-star edge rusher in Tony Cumberland over the weekend in the class of 2026, giving them their first commitment for that cycle.

Now it’s coming out that they are in the mix for a five-star edge rusher in the 2025 class. Mater Dei’s Nasir Wyatt included Oregon among his top eight schools this week.

Wyatt is the No. 20 player overall and the No. 2 edge in the 2025 class on the the 247Sports composite. He also included Alabama, Texas, Michigan, Notre Dame, USC, Tennessee and Ohio State among his top schools.

There is still a great deal of time left in Wyatt’s recruitment, so we will have to wait and see if the ducks can land the elite pass-rusher. However, it appears that they are in a good spot at the time being.

Mater Dei defense scores 2 touchdowns in close win over St. Frances Academy

With Mater Dei’s offense unable to get going against St. Frances Academy, defensive stars Nasir Wyatt and Chuck McDonald took the lead.

Mater Dei’s offense has been dominant this season. Take the 55-8 win over Kahuku on Sept. 9, for instance, when four-star quarterback Elijah Brown threw for four touchdowns and elite running back Jordon Davison rushed for two more. Or the week before, when Brown threw for a whopping seven touchdowns.

On Friday, the defense took care of both sides of the ball. St. Frances Academy’s (Baltimore) defense prevented the Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) offense from getting going at all, not allowing a single offensive score through the first three quarters, but two big touchdowns from the Monarchs’ defensive end helped them maintain a lead through most of the game and remain undefeated against a very tough opponent with a 20-6 victory.

The first touchdown for either side came near the beginning of the second quarter when a scramble for possession resulted in five-star edge rusher Nasir Wyatt corralling the loose ball and taking it home. That 7-0 score would hold through halftime.

St. Frances tied up the game about seven minutes into the third quarter and then got a stop to get back possession.  Their drive was halted immediately and brutally, as the Panthers were reminded that it’s not just Mater Dei offense that has made them the No. 1 team on the Super 25 throughout the season.

Already deep in their own territory, the Panthers gained just four yards before four-star Monarchs cornerback Chuck McDonald picked off a pass and returned it to the end zone to take the lead.

Brown rushed in an insurance touchdown in the fourth quarter, but those two defensive scores were enough to hold the lead. As strong as St. Frances’ defense was, holding Mater Dei’s offense to a single touchdown, the Monarchs’ defense was no less stringent, giving up only one touchdown of their own. Even while the Monarchs scored a season-low 20 points, they got the win and improved to a record of 5-0.

The Panthers are now 1-5, but that has been a symptom of scheduling arguably the toughest schedule in the nation. Four of the losses have been to teams ranked in the top-10 — two of whom are ranked among top-3 teams — and the fifth was to an East St. Louis (Ill.) program that briefly appeared in the Super 25 this season.

There’s good news for St. Frances: This is their last game against a nationally ranked team until mid-November. The Panthers will have a chance to rack up some wins and gain momentum ahead of their matchup with IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.), currently ranked No. 4 in the Super 25.

As for the Monarchs, they continue to set the pace for the nation. They have pole position and have not shown signs of relinquishing.

Georgia football offers 4-star Mater Dei LB Nasir Wyatt

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered elite linebacker recruit Nasir Wyatt. Wyatt plays for Mater Dei High School.

The Georgia Bulldogs have extended a scholarship to elite linebacker prospect Nasir Wyatt. Georgia football is the latest program to offer the Mater Dei High School standout.

Wyatt is a member of the class of 2025 and is ranked as a four-star recruit. The 6-foot-2, 210-poiund linebacker already has scholarship offers from USC, California, Arizona, Oregon, Utah, Michigan State, and more.

Wyatt is utilized as both a linebacker and edge rusher in Mater Dei’s defensive scheme. The sophomore linebacker is the No. 49 recruit in the class of 2025 and the No. 4 edge rusher. Wyatt is the No. 9 recruit in California.

The four-star prospect played varsity football as a freshman. That’s an impressive accomplishment at Mater Dei, which is one of the top high school football programs in the country.

Nasir Wyatt and Mater Dei knocked off Bishop Gorman High School on Aug. 26. Wyatt is already making some plays in the backfield this season.
